'America's Got Talent' taps YouTube, John Schneider channels George Bailey (Excess Hollywood)

  • America’s Got Talent hopefuls can now load their auditions online. NBC and the show’s producers are teaming up with YouTube to select 12 acts for the live show from YouTube submissions. Afro Ninja, now’s your chance! [THR]
  • The Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider has been tapped to play the title character in Doonby, a film that’s described as a cross between It’s a Wonderful Life and Crazy Heart. So Sorrell Booke pretty much has to be cast in the Mr. Potter part, right? [THR]
  • Robyn Lively and Tony Hale have signed on to star in indie Sironia, which follows a singer who relocates from L.A. to Sironia, Tex. We will find out if Sironia has its own Mother Boy convention. [THR]
  • Adam Kane (The Mentalist, Heroes) is directing the pilot for Syfy series Haven, which is based on the Stephen King novella, The Colorado Kid. The show is set in the titular Maine town, inhabited by people with supernatural powers. The cast includes Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Eric Balfour, Richard Donat,and John Dunsworth. [THR]
