Eh, I’d argue high school student Aaron Kelly is far more deserving of the Vote For the Worst endorsement. Yes, Siobhan might be overdoing the whole screaming thing, but it could be much, much worse. (See: This.) And I would think the site would want to see Aaron stick around long enough to watch him and David Archuleta meet and run towards each other at sonic speed so they could collide and meld into one super-duper teenage powerhouse contestant that wows Clive Davis with a performance of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.”
Really, I just think this whole Siobhan-Vote For the Worst thing is a plot led by butterflies seeking more airtime. Too bad they’ll be pissed when Siobhan shows up with a parrot attached to her shoulder next week.

Siobhan Magnus focuses more on pleasing America and herself instead of pleasing too much the judges! When others don’t think for themselves and think too much on what the judges want then they get boring and fake. Kara and Simon act like tyrants always going on power trips with the contestants. They are too controlling. That’s why George Lopez joked about the judges on Idol gives back night. Classic moment!!
Critics over the internet disagreed with Kara and Simon. Critics like Los Angeles Times and Orlando Sentinel loved Siobhans Elvis performance and said that the way Kara and Simon was acting was sad.

They are just looking at her personality. People probably think that she is too dumb but the truth is she really is a very smart girl. She just is very genuine and real. She definitely has the brains for music because she is so incredibly creative and talented. I think being 100% real is good because then you are interesting. Siobhan has a very strong magnetism about her. She is very charming. Her talent and creativity will take her very far in the world!

Have you been watching Idol? Yes, Siobhan has gotten BORING–especially the last song she sang (that came from the animated movie about Moses called “Prince of Egypt”). I mean, how much more boring can you be??? I will admit Siobhan has a good voice, but she’s terrible at song choices and arrangements. She deserves to the VFTW’s pick because of the remaining 6 contestants, she has gone downhill the most IMO.
Yeah, I agree with @Brianna that Siobhan should be the VFTW pick… she hasn’t had a good performance in over a month, and she’s pretty weird. VFTW doesn’t choose its pick based on who’s the worst, but on who’s bad/weird/most likely to make VFTW-ers laugh. Aaron’s too boring.

The only reason why they are selecting Siobhan for Vote for the Worst is because they are losing their fan base and want to say that they (VFTW) got her into the final 3. While Bowersox is the best performer, Siobhan has the purest voice. It’s terrible that they would say that worst when she’s one of the 3 best!
To the person who responded to my comment: Yes I have been watching American Idol. Siobhan is not boring. The song “When you believe” from the “Prince of Egypt” soundtrack is not boring. That song has one of the best messages ever! That’s why Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston sang it. The song was a very hard song to sing, and Alicia Keys said that she was very impressed with Siobhan. Alicia also said that Siobhan is doing things that most people can’t do. It was inspiration week and that is a very inspirational song that has to do with a important lesson: BELIEVE!! Kara and Simon are a lot of times lost. Ya Siobhan did mistakes during American Idol but she still did great too. Perfection is impossible.

Siobhan sets a good example because she is true to herself. On youtube.com there are videos of her long before American Idol and she acts just like she does now. She has always had that sweet and true to herself personality. A person like that definitely knows who she is and is very smart and mature! She is definitely a true star that has a very deep effect on people! She has got a lot of unique personality.
I’m sorry that there even is a VFTW! What happened to just voting for the talent? I love Siobhan’s voice, individuality, honesty, and quirkiness! She rocks! I think the girls have a lock on the strongest voices this year. I would be buy a CD by Siobhan in a heartbeat. I think Aaron is young and has plenty of time to try again. The wonderful Los Angeles Times is a fan of Siobhan! They wrote a article on the internet on their response about Siobhan getting picked by the Vote for the worst website. They put that they absolutely dont agree with the website’s verdict. But also put that they were totally OK with its endorsement. They put NOTHING WOULD MAKE US HAPPIER THAN TO SEE SIOBHAN ADVANCE A COUPLE MORE WEEKS. THEY PUT THAT SHE’S ONE OF THE BEST! Yes- LA rocks, and that is why Hollywood is there. Go Cali!

Sorry, but VFTW got it absolutely right. Siobhan is clearly the worst contestant left on the show. She has NO CLUE who she is as a performer and sorry, her high notes are nothing more than screeching. I also have to wonder if her dumb as a door knob persona is nothing but an act. I honestly believe that she started the show acting like this mousy meek girl with a “big voice” and now that the judges aren’t buying it her real personality is coming out. I mean, look at her “friends” they always show – those zombie chicks with fake blood all over their faces – sorry, it just doesn’t add up.
VFTW picked a singer who is already likely to make it to Top 4, maybe Top 3 based on her talent and appeal. Then they will gloat about how great they are for keeping her in the competition so long. If they were really going for the worst, they would have selected Aaron who has already been in the bottom 3 several times.

Picking Siobhan over Aaron is clear indication they just want the site hits and ad revenue and no longer (if they ever really did) care about their “mission statement”. The purported idea is to throw a monkey wrench into the pool of manufactured vapidness of AI.. Siobhan may not exactly know what to do with herself as an artist, but she is talented and was going to advance anyhow; her moving forward doesn’t in any way reflect upon VFTW’s “power” or derail the AI processing plant.
Siobhan has just had a bad couple of weeks, but I agree that she would have made it to the top 3 anyway and of course VFTW will try to take credit for it. It kind of shows me that they are selling out by picking someone that they know will go far. They should pick Michael, who should already be gone and hated by many voters (including me). He is so cheesy and has an awful, nasally voice.

I think Magnus has had one real crash and burn week, taking on a high risk song and getting her butt scorched in the process.
The other weeks maybe from decent to superb.
Some might call her weeks after “Through the Fire” bad, but those were 3 weeks Siobahn did just as judges and producers told her they’d like to see her do. Can the screaming and sing in control.
The past 3 weeks were not bad weeks at all. She sang hard stuff with technical perfection and added originality. The i tunes for “Across the Universe” and “When you Believe” are wonderful.
THe judges were hard on her those 3 weeks, but when you get past them – the audience got 3 fine singing performances and she established to industry pros she can excel in studio and put out quality product.
Ignore the fact that the judges never included her in their weekly pet worship rituals for Lee, Crystal, and special pet project “Big MIke” – 3 past weeks were solid weeks for Siobhan Magnus.

How can VFTW select someone who made it to the AI top 6 without ever being in the bottom 3? Love her or hate her, America has spoken. She is not the worst!
Regardless of how some commenters feel about her performance last week, per dialidol.com she had the third highest number of votes with no chance of being voted off. This is a far cry from the bottom 3.
VFTW has reached a new low (if that’s possible) and lost sight of their original mission–voting for who America saw as the worst. The evidence is witnessed weekly by what candidates land in the bottom 3. Within the “bottom-3 club”, select the contestant with unique quirks and oddities.
When a top-3 voted contestant has unique quirks and oddities that should not make them a VFTW pick. But, lucky for the low-life at VFTW, Siobhan gave them an excuse to select a top-3 (and potentially top-2) contestant.
VFTW doesn’t always go with bad singers. They sometimes pick good singers that look to be going counter to what the Judges/Producers want. Since Idol is shoveling Crystal/Lee down our throats, its only natural that VFTW pick the one contestants that could foil them. To be honest, I applaud VFTW, as I’ve been voting for Siobhan for that exact reason, I don’t want a Crystal/Lee finale dictated to me. Crystal is great. But, Lee is just a shouty bobble-head each week.

Blah, Lee is just another cookie cutter pseudo rocker a la Kris Alan, David Cook or Chris Daughtry (I don’t care how many records his band sells, they are just the 21st century equivalent of corporate rock) minus self-confidence or guy liner.
When singers have confidence (which they should have in this business), people complain that they are arrogant and they eat his “I thought I was going home this week and every other week but I’m really starting to feel better about myself, I really really am” routine up with a spoon. I don’t doubt that he’s really that insecure but god it’s oft-putting.

Aaron is one of the most consistent and best singers on the show and deserves to be there. I’m just glad they didn’t pick michael lynche because he is clearly the worst and should be the one to go. Perhaps secretly, they want sioban to be the pick because she provides the only real competition to Lee and Crystal.
KWise: The VFTW way is to pick the person with the craziest trainwrecks, and the one who the judges/producers want to avoid crowning as the winner the most- which is not always the “least talented” person. Aaron is very boring – his performances are more likely to put you to sleep than make you say “OMG, WTF?”. Shioban has more potential for a major trainwreck from week to week since she takes more risks, and the judges are clearly not in her corner as demonstrated in recent over-tough critiques. Plus she’s not very commercial because of her weird personality – that is why I suspect they picked her instead of another contestant who may have technically weaker vocals.

Katie Perry and Gwen Stefani are very much girl-next-door types to me. Not in a goody goody kind of way. They just aren’t the kind of people who make you raise your eyebrows. Fun and a little quirky but not omgwtfbbq weird. They’re the kind of people you’d expect to be the floaters in HS, able to get along with everybody whereas Lady Gaga would be one of the “weird” kids.

Idol judges want a nice, pre-packaged winner to go on and sell tons of albums. Kara gets confused with tempo changes, Simon gets distracted by butterflies, and the rest of America loves Siobhan’s sweet and powerful voice.

VFTW doesn’t understand VFTW. They’ve realized that what they originally set out to do is no longer working. Tim Urban was wretched, but he was clearly better than other contestants for 3 weeks running. The site dug themselves into a hole and continually justified their pick just to save face. This season is SO bad that they’ve actually been rendered irrelevant. 6 of the top 12 could have been VFTW material.
Jennifer, I get it. VFTW is about voting for somebody who’s not merely bad, but what-was-she-thinking horrible. Siobhan has been in that category for weeks now, in fact I would say she’s actually worse than Tim Urban (who’s not really all that bad, just in over his head).
No, VFTW supports singers who they think are worthy of their support. They can be truly epic bad (like Haley and Paige who were previous VFTW picks) or they can have enough talent and personality that they have followers and by their continued presence add more than just “boringly bad” to the show. They like their picks now to have a certain amount of “flair.”

At the beginning, I was rooting for Siobhan but after 5 consecutive weeks of sub-par performances–I am now rooting for Lee. Since the finals started, Siobhan has gotten worse and Lee has gotten better. I can see why VFTW chose Siobhan.

I think it’s more than millions when you add the Tim, Crystal, Lee supporters who say they LIKE Siobhan, In the low 10s of millions. One of my friends is a Crystal fan, but says that while she crosses her fingers and hopes Crystal does great – the real fun and a big reason to tune in is to see what Siobhan is up to. If she will be great or nutty or both.
They picked Siobhan because is the classic overhyped person who ends up being bad. VFTW loves to stick it to the judges, and this is their payback to Simon for dissing and not supporting singers that were actually good.

Tim was boring, too. Pretty sure V4TW even acknowledged that…but that’s one of the many reasons I thought he was a crap choice. The Highschool Musical crowd probably had more to do with his success on the show than their site. Clearly they’ve lost site of their own purpose. Quite frankly I think they dropped the ball not pushing harder for Hayley or whatever the daisyhead girl’s name was. I would have hated them for it, sure, but at least I would have understood.

I agree completely with this, Dazzlindino! I can’t comprehend when she sings terribly then pouts when the judges tell her she’s bad. Also, I’m not sure where I’ve ever read that quirky = stupid, but I’m assuming that when people call her quirky, they’re referring to her apparent stupidity. I’d rather listen to someone scratch a chalk board than to hear Siobhan stumbling through one sentence. The fact that her moronic retorts receive praise from some people is beyond me.
Vote for the worst has very little impact on the voting, especially when there are few contestants left. There are only so many who care about the show but still want to register an ironic vote.
I agree, I think it’s hard enough to get people not indifferent about the contestants and like someone enough to vote. I just don’t think people give a crap enough to vote *against* something they don’t like.

At this point, each contestant has a large enough pool of voters that the few VFTW voters don’t really have an impact.
Tim lasted longer than any VFTW prior pick because he actually had a few decent weeks, and he actually had an appeal to many voters.

She’s NOT this years Adam Lambert. Adam had a distinctive style, inventive arrangements and a powerful vocal ability. Siobhan, for all her “artsiness” picks boring songs, and doesn’t do very much with them (Paint It Black being the one exception, and even that was more wtf than interesting). All her creativity seems to go into her “costumes”.
wakeforce – You are quite correct, of course. AI, unfortunately, in the last three years has become a quest for the best male artist. The females have to work twice as hard to receive any kind of positive attention (from casual fans of the show and the judges). It’s crazy that with all of the excellent female talent chosen for the final 24 only two of the final seven remaining were women. This is even more galling when it appears obvious that the males (with the exception of Lee) are a mediocre bunch this year.

Great news for us Siobahn fans. She has faltered the last few weeks, but based on some of her earlier performances, she’s still me favorite. Finally VFTW does something right.
This doesn’t surprise anyone who knows how VFTW works. Their goal is pretty much to piss the Idol Machine off. Since the judges clearly hate Siobhan, it’s the logical pick. IMHO this wouldn’t be the case if the judges were the least bit reasonable or actually tried to be objective judging the girl. Simon and Kara made this an all but certain pick.
The judges don’t hate her, they’re just frustrated because she’s not delivering the goods. And you have to admit, it’s kind of hard to take her seriously with all that deliberate screaming, weird outfits, and odd behavior.

I just heard of VFTW about an hour or so ago, and I’m hoping they really do NOT carry the weight they used to and/or that they believe, because I’m ready to not have to endure her “singing” anymore.

I think this is a way for VFTW to claim they had an impact on the voting. Instead of picking Aaron who will probably go next, they pick Siobahn and then try to say, “Oh, look, we kept her in.”

@Mroc: I like the girl too, but please don’t compare her to Mariah Carey. Just say she sang the song well and call it a day. Siobhan is physically and mentally incapable of singing anywhere near as good as Mariah. Her voice just isn’t versatile enough to do what Mariah does.

Precisely. Siobhan is too weird for mainstream America – and most Scientologists, really – which is why she’s perfect. Yes, she can sing. I actually like her voice, when she keeps it simple. But the Jekyll-and-Hyde nature of her performances, the insane outfits and her sheer unmarketability add up to VFTW victory!

You got it exactly, Celimene….Yes, she’s got a great voice. I’m 62 and have a degree in music – I think I can tell. But she’s just not picking the right songs…not gettin’ it…week after week. I really love seeing her, but her time is marked. Bowersox is “non-mainstream” also (not the perfect models body, perfect teeth, no face piercings, tatoos)but she is THE ONE, as far as I’m concerned. I love her…and she’s got a career no matter what…like Daughtry!

M roc – I was going to comment on that as something VFTW obviously didn’t hear…or doesn’t care to.
But I agree. Magnus hit a home run with the studio version of “When You Believe”. And the other one that was absolutely top-notch when you know she was building on Fiona Lewis’s slowed down rework – “Across the Universe”.
I also highly recommend Lee’s “The Boxer”. Live he could only do a snippet Live, and that song is a whole story so it left me feeling incomplete. Lee has his usual pitch problems, but he sings that story brilliantly on the download!
I actually voted for who the next target should be and I voted for Siobahn, but not because I think she is the worst, but because I’d rather her stay longer than Aaron or Mike. I knew Crystal and Lee would definitely not be chosen, so no point in voting for them, but Siobhan gets a lot of (undeserved) hate from the judges so I figured she would have a shot, so I voted for her. I do think she can be great at times, good sometimes, and she falls flat quite a few times, but overall I just think she is far more interesting than Aaron, Mike, or even Casey.
