Put a few extra animal crackers in your soup, PopWatchers: The Curly Top-ped Shirley Temple turns 82 today! I’m tapping my toes in celebration. If only I could ever compete with this.
Who else spent the first eight years of their life wanting to be Shirley Temple?

she is so cute!!!
We just had a long talk about our love for Shirley Temple yesterday at work!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaw
I LOVE her! Child stars today should watch her movies and take note: her raw talent and cuteness go a long way. She grew up from a wonderful young actress to a very smart and grounded adult. Too bad most Hollywood kids today are spoiled, potty mouthed brats. (NOT all of them, but many.)
I’m 28 y.o. now, and I ALSO grew up wanting to be Shirley! My favorite was “The Little Princess”, which I bought (as an adult) on DVD. She’s a gem! My favorite quote of hers: “I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.”
My mother is almost 70 & has a lot of childhood photos of her w. Shirley’s exact hairstyle. In the 40s (before television & teen magazines), Shirley was the only kid star most kids were able to see at the movies & she was a huge style icon on that generation & many to follow.
I wish my aunt would give me back my Shirley Temple collector’s doll. I mean, when I was 3 and had no idea who she was, ok, hold on to it for me but it’s been decades now!
Wonderfull!!
