Last night, my DVR said “Models of the Runway,” but thank god it was a 30-minute combo platter Project Runway/Models reunion special, because if I had sat through one more full episode of Models of the Runway, I do believe my head might’ve just rolled right off! Missy alluded to it in her finale recap, but can we talk about Jay’s ridiculous comment to model Cerri? In a clip series, Cerri was shown saying she didn’t like Jay’s design, and then Jay fired back at her during the live show, “That’s why we don’t hire models with bad teeth and thick legs.”
Oh, honeybitch. It’s understandable to take criticism of your work as a personal affront, but you need to let that stuff process at least 30 seconds before proceeding in any way. Grownups do it all the time. I do it with bitchy PopWatch comments nearly every day!

(and Cerri is beautiful and articulate. Jay even agreed that he designs for an L.A. aesthetic, which she is not, so his retort was even more egregious and hostile in the end.)
Yes! They previewed that clip before one of the commercial breaks but my jaw still dropped when he said it. And look at his face after he says it! “Look everyone, I just made a really witty comeback!”
Cerri is ugly on the inside! All season long she spouted off nasty comments towards others (not just Jay). Though she didn’t deserve the horrific insult from Jay, she certainly needed to be taken down a notch. Pride is one of the deadly sins, after all.

Jay is beyond rude. So don’t like him anymore. What was crazy was when he started crying!! after he made the comment as if he was the victim! No Jay you are not!
Amen. While Jay surely lost points with me, that Cerri was slagging people off all season. She has the personality of a turd.
My thing is the comments that were being said were about work nothing personal. jay made it personal so to me thats immature. Yeah she can be a bitch but what she said about Jay wasn’t even an insult. It was her honest opinon about his work. What he said was really childish and if anything it took down his carrer a lot and help make her’s.
So glad he finished out of the Top 3.
Cerri is the classless one. All those people who say Jay needs a thicker skin should also realize that you need a thick skin to be a model as well. Stop taking Cerri’s side just because you feel like your own legs are thick

Cerri was an opinionated bad teeth big leg witch! I am so over the drama of the models of the runway. The older models are used, mean and bitter. It’s one thing to diss your comp (models) but leave the designers out of it. There is a heirarchy in the industry and models work for desingers. So ballsy itches like Cerri an Mayonaise can go to hell.

I’m not sure he sabotaged it, but he sure didn’t do it any favors. He clearly isn’t ready to be a commercial designer if he can’t stand someone giving their opinion of his work that he doesn’t agree with. That’s what was incredible… she wasn’t saying it was bad, just not her style.

Actually, Cerri WAS saying that it was bad, and she didnt even have good reasons (clearly she just wanted her designer to win so that she could continue). Watching her make stank comments about nearly everyone made me hate this show forever. She got what she deserves.
the thing is Cerrie said no offense, and she did repeat it. Just because Jay couldn’t take her honest opinion he had to go personal. Beside Cerrie may be rough on the inside, but so what?
Everybody has their one way of being and nobody is bad. She just expressed her opinion and Jay insulted her personally. He could have said something like well i respect your opinion but i definitely do not agree with it. I mean if you are so desperate to get back then go ahead, make yourself seem immature, stupid and like a jerk on national television.
PS – I think Cerri is GORGEOUS and I could listen to her talk for HOURS

WOW. I was so sad to see Jay lash out like that, because he was one of my favorite designers all season, for just the opposite reason: he was usually so fun and upbeat! We all say things we regret sometimes, especially when we’re feeling attacked, and I’m sure he learned his lesson: save your bitchy comments for that special space inside your head, not the camera. This just shows he has some growing up to do, which is pretty much the point Cerri made about his professional work as well. And if Cerri has thick legs, the rest of us might as well chop off the Redwoods we call ours.
Yeah same I loved Jay’s stuff for most of the season especially in the beginning like I still remember that trash bag look he did and I thought it was awesome don’t know why Maya tried to criticize it at the reunion show. I mean Jay was in the wrong for slagging the girl off but I understood where he was coming from. Why should someone who doesn’t get your aesthetic diss it just because they don’t like it, Emilio knows if Cerri had said the same thing about his work he’d probably have said something worse.

Jay is/was bitchy–I thought he was super bitchy with Tim last week, too–and I never quite understood why he was so crabby with Mila. It was nice to see him get taken down a peg or two by losing.
His stuff was creative, but too much! He’s not as awesome as he thinks he is.
Between this comment, him saying that Mila got the third spot because she was equipped with ladyparts, AND his noted fear of boobs, Jay’s got some serious ladyhate to the point of serious concern for his mental health.
He’s a thin-skinned bitch who will never be able to design for “real” women.

Also–agreed the Cerri was so pretty and I loved how she clearly had no patience for the Britt’s and Leona’s of the group, but yet wasn’t QUITE as irritable as Brandeis.
Methinks Ms. Barrett should have processed the headline of her article for 30 seconds before submitting it. Yes, Jay’s comment was a nasty personal attack, but I think it’s very presumptuous on Ms. Barrett’s part to declare him a woman hater because of it.
He also said that he was scared of boobs. That may not make him a women hater, but if he thinks all women should be boobless with thin legs then he isn’t a women lover.

I was horrified by his comment! Cerri was my favorite model – intelligent and gorgeous (love her even more as a brunette). She made watching Models of the Runway (mostly) palatable.
He has no clue how to design for women – I lost count of the number of designs of his that had something right at the hips/ass to make them look enormous. DUH. He’s a classless & talentless jerk.
It was wrong BUT how soon everyone forgets how Cerri trash talked Brittany the entire season. Now granted it wasn’t personal attacks on her looks….but Cerri isn’t a perfect angel either.
It’s good to see that at least one other person was paying attention to Cerri’s non-model behavior this season! Jay was wrong to say what he said, but Cerri deserved to be called-out on her piss-poor attitude.

ugly teeth make a bad model – in his opinion. he has just as much right to his opinion of her “work” as she does to her opinion of his work.
BOTH Cerri and Jay attacked each other’s work: Cerri went first by attacking his work (which was totally wrong) and then Jay attacked her looks, which in essence is her work
This ignores the fact that JAY himself was constantly talking crap about his competitors, especially Mila, during his one-on-one interviews. He, of all people, has no right to cry and complain when the tables are turned. One of the reasons I’m glad Seth Aaron won is that he was generally very sportsmanlike about his competitors during his solo interviews.
