Sandra…are you kidding or just crazy? THIS is somehow the first time they are introducing something “sexual”. The entire comic is based on sexual attraction between boys and girls. I mean did you think Veronica just want to be friends with Archie? Do you think this new character is going to be shown in bed or something? No he is just going to have a romantic interest in boys. How is that more or less sexual than what has gone on. I am the mother of two girls and would have zero problem with them reading this!
The opinions of people who haven’t read Archie in years and won’t after this very special issue, aren’t really relevant. I’m curious what the regular Archie readers will think of this. Strikes me as either a stunt or political correctness in a comic that’s supposed to be retro – but then I don’t read it regularly either.
We have about 100 or more Archie comics in our house. My two girls read them all the time. It was my daugheter who is a teen who told me about this. She thought it was going to be a fun issue to read.
Oh, great. Gays just want to take over everything, don’t they?
okay don’t say anything bad about me but adding a GAY CHARACTER???? Thats not good. I totally disagree with this. Being gay is a horrible thing and I know its just a comic book but think of really young kids reading these books! Its so not cool. And don’t say bad things to anyone who has opinions of different things like Frank. That just makes you mean! THINK ABOUT IT!!
This is so awesome-a major landmark. Couldn’t be prouder of the series I grew up with….I only everyone was so accepting as the authors. Am I right or am I right?
Why do they add a gay character? I just heard about this 2 weeks ago. This is ridiculous! No one else in riverdale is gay, so what’s going to happen?!
When I read that Archie comics were introducing a gay character I made a committment to never buy another Archie magazine! How degrading and defiling! I cannot belive that the world has come to such a disgusting level that we cannot even pick uo something that at one time was as fresh, innocent and yes even as pure as our Archie comics without having them defiled with filth such as this!
