Why try and find another director when they already have Martin Campbell?
They should bring back Martin Campbell to introduce a new actor in the role: “The director of Goldeneye and Casino Royale presents Bond #7!” It’s a gimmick that would arguably generate more buzz than Craig simply doing a third film.
After the disappointing critical reception of Quantum of Solace, the series was due for another course correction. However, I’m not sure Craig himself was that eager to do a more traditional Bond film. He certainly wasn’t that interested in doing an endless string of sequels.
If they do end up recasting, they’re probably going to get Henry Cavill. He’s strangely absent from all the betting pools, even though the decision was ultimately between him and Craig back in 2005.
I know many might scoff,
so scoff all you want,
but I can imagine a Bond movie directed by Guy Ritchie, I believe it would be amazing.
