Guy’s got a good voice and style. Sort of like Israeli-American Didi Benami. Both got initial high praise then got in a position where they believed the Idol judge’s negativity about them and their confidence shattered.
Abdul was a trainwreck, but she was the one always trying to motivate and give contestants confidence for the next week. Against criticism fair and unfair.
This season, there is no one like her, and people from the band director to TV critics have noted that contestants are affected by that negative vib the Idol show now has and underperforming.
Add that Cowell and Kara are sending a subconcious message that just being there and “enduring” the performances other than their Beloved Crystal and Big Mike faves is suffering, pain for them. God! What other show is tolerating host or judges effectively saying “Welcome to our awful show where we sit in misery subjected to unendurable performances.”
You want to blame ratings drops, start with the judges, not the contestants.
I believe Andrew Garcia will do OK post-Idol.

He should never die of hunger. He has as much talent as the thousands out there trying to make it. Above average at most. Good luck to him. America not very good at judging talent.

I love this guy. His talent was pretty much wasted on AI, but he’s still got the tour, and I think he’s going to be a surprise since he’ll be able to do what he knows best. His original stuff is great too, so whether he signs with a huge label or something small, I can’t wait to get a hold of his music.
AI is really showing signs of it’s age as well! This show needs to go away as does the whole panel of judges (thank god Simon has the XFactor!). This season can be thrown out on the dog-pile, along with the contestants!
I cant wait until Andrew puts an album out, I am going to miss him so much on AI, I wish Mike and would just leave already. By the way, everyone thinks Andrew pulled the lowest votes on Wednesday, he didn’t Katie did. Mike pulled the most, and the bottom three were Tim Andrew and Katie. If Mike had gone out last week,it would have been Katie this week going, not Andrew. He didn’t have the least votes like everyone thinks, just check dialidol. I am fed up with the judges pushing for a certain person and dogging certain singers so that they can be gone, if this was a fair competition, would Tim still be there? Can anyone explain that. Now he will probably win or at least be in the top five the way the voting of VFTW is set up. If Andrew was so bad why isn’t he VFTW. For anyone interested to see the real Andrew away from the judges, watch him on the Ellen deGeneres show yesterday performing……he is a true star/
I liked that performance better than anything he did on AI after Straight Up. Some performers just make more sense on a small, intimate stage. Not everyone can put on a huge, dramatic show. LOVED the handstand! Who knew?
