I am so so so sad ABC cancelled this show. I loved it – it was so unique. I laughed every episode and was in awe of the amazing cast. ABC treated it poorly – putting it on Fridays – no wonder the ratings went down – I forgot several times on Fridays that it was on and I was a HUGE fan. So of course the ratings went down. But then I would watch online if I missed it – do they count those viewings? And what about all of us without a Nielsen’s boxes (I have never met a person with a ratings box – who are these people???). This show was a breath of fresh air – with most of tv being cop and doctor shows (BORING). “Ugly Betty” will be missed.
How I will miss this show! I still can’t believe Betty was cancelled over so many other boring shows.
She was a trailblazer. Not a dry eye in my house last night; the goodbye scene with her family was beautiful. Just loved it, and so sad to see it end.
ABC really treated this series badly. Moving the show’s air day multiple times like a unimportant pawn they could play with. Then to cancel for low ratings when they caused it is pretty pathetic. I say sue, creators! This was the ONLY original show on tv. I just loved the Betty paintings. Iconic. Sad to see it go and hope they bring it back, those arrogant, misguided suits at ABC. Ridiculous to see stuff like Cougar Town on and this canceled. Absurd. They owe the creators, cast, and fans a huge apology, and to bring it back. Huge mistake.
Too right! ABC basically killed the show early on with ridiculous schedule changes and then pulled the plug on the show in one if it’s best seasons. Gone far to soon. They should just admit their mistakes and bring Betty back!
I watched the show from my home in Kampala, Uganda and it is ojne of the best series ever-so many real issues oflife are touched. It has real people and the world of fashion is notthreatening like other programmes. Totally loved it. The actors and actresses suited their roles perfectly.
Ugly Betty is one of our favorite shows – mine and my daughter’s. We just love it. Even the characters you don’t want to like, you love. As the show unfolds, we come to discover all of them have beautiful hearts, and it helps to remind me that this is the way it is with people, and we get to see this on tv, where we might not see that inner part with people we’re not as intimate with. The relationships that develop are very rich. And I must mention the art direction, which is just magnificent! It’s a visual feast, the colors, lighting, the sets…not to mention the actual fashion. I vote fot the movie, and make it a series, OK? I’ll miss these people. Sweet show – I can’t believe the ratings fell. oh well. thank you for a wonderful show – and I agree that it is so refreshing with all the gorey police and medical and violence shows on these days. come on, let’s get a little more CREATIVE, shall we?! Thank you to all who contributed to Ugly Betty, A Beauty. ox
