Spring is in the air, Idoloonies, even in the hallowed halls of American Idol. And just like most households, The Castle That Kelly Clarkson Built did some serious cleaning tonight, stuffing not one but two contestants into tear-resistant Hefty Cinch Sacks and putting ‘em out on the curb for recycling night. [SPOILERS AHEAD, west-coast TV watchers!]
In the case of Andrew Garcia, alas, it was an overdue trip to the Idol dumpster. His Elvis-week “Hound Dog” was limp and unhip, a final sad salvo to one of the more disappointing runs for an early front-runner in recent show history. And his meandering sing-off to “You Give Me Something” only served to confirm that a nation of speed-dialers did the right thing. Waah waah waah waahhnn.
The night’s other eviction came down to the end-of-episode troika of Tim Urban, Michael Lynche, and Katie Stevens, and it might shock you to know I was actually rooting for the permanently smiling Texan with the luxuriously thick hair to last another week. Maybe it’s some form of reality TV Stockholm syndrome, where you start to sympathize with your musical captors? Or maybe, as my pal Mandi Bierly argued in an astute PopWatch piece today, it’s a backlash to the backlash. Whatever the reason, I was not alone. Tim was sent to safety first, followed by Michael (who Ryan announced was not actually in this week’s bottom three), and that left Katie to face the sing-out music. Her struggle to get through “Let It Be” without a complete tearful collapse was a surprisingly gooey moment from a contestant who’s often seemed remote and robotic. Adieu, Katie! Still wish you’d waited five years before auditioning, especially after realizing I actually enjoyed that casual exit-package rendition of “Chasing Pavements” you did with Andrew at a breakfast table somewhere in Hollywood Week.
In addition to this evening’s ousters, we got an Idol Gives Back update from season 5 favorite Elliott Yamin and fourth judge Kara DioGuardi (reporting from Angola), a duet from season 7 favorite Brooke White and visibly trembling If I Can Dream star Justin Gaston, and a ferocious rendition of “Whataya Want From Me,” by this week’s insightful guest mentor Adam Lambert (which took place inside a laser-filled tornado).
Next week’s theme: Inspirational songs! (Don’t all applaud at once, guys.) Next week’s mentor: Alicia Keys. Oh how I hope someone sings “Empire State of Mind.” What? That song has inspired many a morning commute for yours truly.
On that note, I’m off to work on my full-length TV Watch recap. Do check out some behind-the-scenes scoop about Casey James’s Elvis night ditty; and follow me on Twitter @EWMichaelSlezak, where you can get all my Idol-related commentary and exclusive news (like this conversation with Idol’s executive producer about the future of those hard-to-kill Swaybots).

So, MS gets his dream…..the beautiful and talented Katie is voted off…..he shouldn’t get too comfortable because soon Siobhan and Crystal will follow and all the little girls and old cougars will get their way and and all male top 5…..and I will stop watching…..
I agree with MS usually but he’s been way too hard on Katie this season, who hasn’t been nearly as bad as he’s claimed. Glad Andrew’s finally made his exit, though. iTunes/Big Mike’s living on borrowed time now and I’m ready for his exit song.
Im not gonna miss Katie at all.. she was too annoying.. Although I have to say her expression at the end of let it be when she broke into tears melted my heart.. And as for Andrew, I mean it was he’s time but he seems to be a great guy so it was kinda sad.. I wished Big Mike had left instead..
Hey JoBlo, I’m waiting for his exit song as well. Katie did not deserve to leave, but Big Mike did. Iam completely outraged that Katie was sent away, when instead Mike should had been the one. Im sick of looking at his obnoxtious fat body on state, and further more,he is so Arrogant. AMERICA VOTE MIKE OFF NEXT WEEK,HE HAS TO GO,HE SUCKS.AND HE NEVER SHOULD HAD BEEN SAVED.
Mike should be the one to go.
Katie should had been saved.
Next week he needs to be voted off.
America vote him off, please do everyone a favor and get rid of the Giant. He cant sing worth a darn.
Who’s voting for Aaron, I couldn’t hardly remember his name to write it down. That’s the problem. Especially after last week’s growling fest, what fans does he have left?
Idol is getting boring now. I would rather watch Lost and Survivor.
Simon is no longer as nasty that he used to be.
The only one that is truly entertaining is Tim Urban.
@Michaela: You are the reason why the most deserving contestants get voted off. It’s about who’w the best. It’s not about emotions and who’s “nice.” For heaven’s sake people, focus on their singing and performance not on their niceness and character. Most of them are really not themselves when dealing with all that pressure, so please try and judge them on their performances.
Haven’t you been watching the show? Katie did indeed deserve to leave. Having a nice singing voice is not enough. She was horrible and not ready for AI. Her inconsistency was more distracting than her accessories. The girl clearly needed to get voted off weeks ago.
@sherryl. Save Katie for what? She didn’t have a prayer. She was consistently one of the worst performers all season. Being a cute teenager is not enough to win. I have nothing against cute teenagers, but I do have something against a contestant who is confused and not sure of herself as a performer. She never stuck to her guns in terms of who she is as an artist. Tell me, what kind of music will she record if she made it? Whatever they tell her to,that’s what. I can’t see myself buying her music because it won’t be her vision.
Bottom line, Kate and Andrew have zero chance of having a singing career. Maybe a hosting career, or something else, but singing — nah!
LIARS-Bull S*** You people are full of s***! ITS A SINGING COMPETITION. Katie had a voice that was better and stronger than other contestants. She also made a lot better song choices than other contestants. You people are just being haters because Katie was confused. No one is perfect! So what if she was confused! YOU PEOPLE ARE HYPOCRITES
@Sherryl
Do you suffer from congenital deafness?
I get that you don’t like Big Mike but be reasonable – the man CAN sing.
I actually think Katie has been improving each week. But all the notice goes to Tim Urban not sucking like he used too.
Katie just needs more experience. She has a great voice but needs to train it more. She’s cute too, all great qualities to fill in as teen singer while Miley’s people think Miley can make movies
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Tonite was one of the best shows of the hole season! I was so happy to see fat ugly Kaitie get sent home, I was laughing so hard when they show the video at the end and she was crying like a little baby, that was clasic. Now she can go home and take care of her granma with alltshimers. I am also glad Andrew is gone now I won’t have to take a nap during the show every week. 2 losers gone 6 more losers too go and then MAMASOX will be the NEXT AMERICAN IDOL!!!!! YEAH, I can’t wait! BOW-ER-SOX, BOW-ER-SOX!
@Crystal is God: Spellcheck, dude.
Oh,forget about Katie. What the heck happened to Glambert? HE WAS HORRIBLE.
He did sound awful.
And it was difficult to see him perform through all that fog!
How was Adam horrible? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? He was fabulous! Get your head outta your azz and THEN maybe you could of heard it JD, Katryn…….
Oh, give up Lambert haters. Nothing he does will ever please you, or ever be acceptable to you. Adam’s performance was the best of this season so far, for both finalists and guests. Anyone with an iota of openness and objectivity in their brain knows it. Stop whining and live with it. Adam is here to stay and nothing you can say will change that.
I thought the whole thing was lip syncing hence the fog and shaky camera angles. It was terrible.
I was completely distracted by the fog tornado. I was hoping he would come out and sing WDYWFM like in his video for the song. Simple, real, emotional, with the focus on his voice.
What in the heck is JD talking about? Adam sounded GREAT and looked hotter than ever!!! I absolutely loved his performance!!!
LOL. Adam was awesome! Both vocally and visually. Exciting and fun.
It’s not that Adam sounded bad because his vocals were excellent as usual. It was the song. Who wrote it? What a terrible song. It put me to sleep with the help of the fog.
MADAM HAMBUTT (get it, Madam cause he’s girly and Hambutt cause he is a fat pig HA HA!) anyway Madam was lame. Crystal should have mentoured him last night and taught him how to not suck. Also that was not the best performince of the season. The best performince of the season was when MAMASOX did that Beetle song and fixed the lyrics, just like it says in HEY JUDE, “take a bad song and make it better!” that’s what she did and no one even gave her credit for it. in stead stupid people said she messed up but she did not she improved the song with her artistic lisance. She is genius and should be praised as one. BOW-ER-SOX BOW-ER-SOX!
@Lori R, lip syncing????? WOT??? Have you NOTHING else to complain about. Adam never lip syncs. Give me a freaking break!!!!
@Tami: honestly, he was horrible. Please don’t take the criticism as hate. I understand you’re a fan, but it’s comments like yours that annoy people and start the back and forth about Adam. I’ve heard him do that song beautifully on countless other shows, but for some strange reason he decides to change the arrangement and bring in lasers. This is one of the reasons why he is so frustratingly polarizing. He does the most unnecessary, over the top things.
I thought he was unexpected which is his signature, right? I enjoyed his departure and journey from Idol contestant to artist.
I don’t think that performance did him justice and only gives more fuel to the inbred bigots out there. I enjoy listening to Lambert much more without all the theatrics. He can sing. Check out VH1′s Unplugged. HATED the performance last night. Song is quite good and his acoustic version is terrific, but couldn’t see him during much of the over-staged visuals. Also, reverb timing on his mic was off.
Adam was great. He obviously didn’t lip sync – he completely change the song’s original arrangement. As for not seeing him in the fog – I agree. And I blame Idol cameramen for that one. Adam rehearsed that performance. They knew he was coming with lasers and fog, and they still did not get the camerawork right.
I thought his performance was fine, but I didn’t like the echo/reverb. I don’t like remixes of songs into Techno. I love his songs AS IS on his album. If Adam released an album with the background music how it was tonight, he will alienate many of his fan base. I’d rather hear him rock than create music for dance clubs and raves.
You think so? There were a few pitch problems but I thought it was one of the most awesome performances I’d ever seen on the show! Although he had about 6 better ones last Season. I REALLY felt his emotion though. It was so f-n cool the way he completely changed up his own song yet you could still recognise it, his control is amazing. He’s a little genius. I want those lazerbeams.
@kim you just don’t get it, do you. Adam LOVES being polarizing. He could have effortlessly performed WWFM acoustically but he chose not to. Adam really does enjoy and take pride in the fact that some of his choices are completely polarizing – he walks the line, lives on the edge. Q: ‘How would you describe Adam Lambert – the performer?’ “Onstage me is basically offstage me – exaggerated for effect. If I live my life at 100%, I live at 200% on the stage. Hmmm…for the most part, my style is not easily digestable; it’s not easy-listening or mass-pleasing, I definitely prefer it this way! lol. Glam rock to me, is first and foremost a good time. Glamrock embodies freedom of expression with satirical, ironic, ridiculous, fun, silly tongue in cheek humor, as well as ethereal and other escapism. I’m drawn to all these ideals, have been for a long time. I live my life to these principles, and try to surround myself with positive people who all share a certain spirit for life. We’ve progressed a lot over the years, but our society today is still pretty uptight, and so fearful. We don’t party enough. People were so care-free back then, everyone was partying in the ’70s and ’80s, loving on each other. JOY. That’s what we’re about at the end of the day. If I can provide a bit of entertainment, escapism, joy for someone even just for a few minutes, I’ve done my job, I’m fulfilled.
If I’m going to be honest, I don’t believe you’re making Good Art if you’re not taking risks, if a lot of people just…like you, or are indifferent to you” [thankfully Legends - proper well respected bigname legends who are now friends and fans of his, agree. They agree and respect him] “You’re performing in a way that’s been performed before. It’s awesome if you’re comfortable with that – but for me personally, I get the most thrill by taking risks – it’s risky but it’s EXCITING, y’know? *grins* I am a very ‘in the moment’ type person, tend to live my life by the seat of my pants, I do like living on the edge I won’t lie. A lot of the time onstage I’m the same way. I’ll make a decision on the spot and it’s obviously risky but – exciting. (Interviewer cuts in: ‘So THAT is your secret to being an unpredictable, refreshing, exciting performer’) “Aw, well, thank you. You know what the thing is? Even if I’ve rehearsed a song dry, it never sounds the same live, not once. Ever LOL. Sometimes the changes are more drastic…sometimes the adrenaline takes over and you get carried away – in the best way possible, that’s my belief. You only live once, you may as well LIVE. The band are the same actually. We all like to live by the seat of our pants so to speak, onstage and offstage. Last week we decided to perform a cover – Mad World as a surprise for the fans at a private gig in Sydney – but we hadn’t rehearsed it, not even once. We changed the tempo – sped it up and stripped it acoustic on the spot. None of us had played that version. LP and Monte started jamming while I improvised but it sounded like a song, instead of an unrehearsed jam. It was filmed and it turned out to be a fan favorite. Living in the moment is the most fun, it’s an amazing feeling.”
I thought his performance last night was AWESOMESAUCE. The only weak parts were the ending where his register got shouty/strained but overall, it was an Epic performance. And he made an EPIC mentor.
OH MY GOD I thought it was EPIIIIIIIC are y’all kidding me lol. His Tw.itter followers shot up so high last night. Even haters were loving on it. He is a f-n semi genius. Polarizing but I loooove him for it. There’s a reason he has so many Icons as friends and fans – it’s not just because he’s an awesome person.
IT WAS F-N HOLOGRAPHIC APPRECIATE!!!
The shows suck, they should not use the save last week. Katie should be around next week. Shame on the show.
Jack I aggree with you dude one hundred and ten percent. The judges waisted the “Save” on the wrong contestant. I think the entire elimination tonight was totally a blow and slap towards Katie, and she was the one whom has been so much friggin better then Big Mike. He stinks,he is so horribly deformed looking, all stiff muscles and all, He cant barely eeeeven stand on stage either. Notice how his entire legs took up the stage? He looks rediculous, and I think America screwed up big time. But dont worry, Katie will get signed with a record company she is so good, and deserves to have this happen for her. Hang in there Katie you rock.
@sherryl
there may be some muscle in there under all that FAT. for a personal trainer, he should NOT look like that.
@ Sheryl, Mike is “all stiff muscles”???? are you watching the same show I am? the Mike I see every week is a big fat pig with no muscle or talint. He should not be aloud on the stage cause his fat weekens the stage and make it not safe for normal people like MAMASOX, they should have sent him home two. BOW-ER-SOX BOW-ER-SOX!
@Sherryl
LOL: Did Big Mike turn you down for a date, babe?
KATIE AND AARON ARE THE WORST SINGERS. It was right to eliminate Katie, now if only tone-deaf morons would stop voting for that wet cheeseball Aaron!!!
America got it right, although in all honesty, it was right last week too. The judges’ save is a horrible idea. I think most can agree that Andrew was well past his expiration date, but really, Katie was too. Her vocals can be fine, but she just has no personality or stage presence. Too bad it wasn’t a triple elimination, but if Big Mike goes next week, I’ll be very happy!
Katie does have a personality. She’s a happy-go-lucky teenager. Being happy-go-lucky is a great quality that I admire.
I agree. I wish Katie would have waited a couple years to get more confidence on stage. Her vocals were great, but her performances were boring. American Idol is not about just finding the best singer – it about finding the best ALL AROUND singer (and that includes live shows/performances).
I did think Kate Stevens was very talented, especially for her age.
Her voice is easy to listen too and I thought Siobahn (best) and Katie have the nicest-sounding voices, and so poised, well-mannered.
Horray! Andrew is gone! I would also like to thank America for sparring us from hearing Katie sing “the greatest love of all” next week!
Yes, the predictions at Dial Idol were correct for once! The site had Andrew and Katie as the bottom 2. At one point, I saw the raw numbers estimating that Big Mike was in 1st, Tim in 2nd and Crystal was 3rd. Of course, those numbers could be way off the actual totals, since they don’t even count text votes. I was so happy to see Elliott again! And I was kind of hypnotized by those lasers in Adam’s performance!
I saw that Andrew and Katie were leaving on dialidol earlier today. I haven’t been keeping up with dialidol, but I’m glad to hear they were right.
I don’t see an America that was revulsed by “Big Mike’s” act and his outdated music suddenly doing a 180 and voting him #1.
You can’t fix “Big Mike’s” problem with voters that see him as preening, buffoonish, with music they don’t wanna listen to.
Big Mike has good vocals and a baby to support.
OK, that should make me vote how?
Do I have a duty, say if AI came up with another huge tool who sang Nazi marching band music with great vocals – to vote for that guy on just the vocals?
What if the Nazi song singer has a newborn baby and a cry-ugly wife?
It’s so obvious that “petra” and “chris ford” are the same person. Try harder next time.
Hey whats going on?!?!?! I went to DialIdol.com and it puts Casey James as the third highest. What the heck?! Are you kidding me?? He chooses such pathetic songs!! Then they put Siobhan at number six on the chart. Thats ridiculous!!!!! Siobhan should be at the top!! What is going on with the voting this season? Come on America, get it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HEY CHRIS FORD – what’s wrong with Nazi marching bands? just because you don’t like it does not mean there is not a large market for it. + At least that would make the show interesting.
Andrew should have left WEEKS ago. How he managed to stay this long is a miracle. Did anyone else notice Huge Mike’s smugness while Katie was singing her exit song? It looked like he was saying to himself, “Yeah, I’m still here, they made the right choice”. Hope he gets that smugness wiped right off his face next week!!!
Why is Michael Lynche and Casey James at the top of the chart at the predictions dial idol website? Come on America-please do better at voting!!!! Someone needs to take the phone away from their little kids in elementary school and under-the text messaging has gotta stop!!!! America-vote harder for Siobhan Magnus, she is the most fun!
Im sad that Katie is leaving. I wanted to see her in the top five! Katie and Siobhan were my favorites. I love hearing both of them sing, their voices are so heavenly! Katie and Siobhan are more fun than any of the other contestants!!!
Katie is leaving too soon! Now there is only two girls left on the show. That is crazy. This sucks so much!!!!!!
I agree with you Brianna! I think those two are so very good- the voices I prefer to listen to….I also like Casey James alot!! Lee Dewyze also has a great sound, but he needs to BELIEVE! Lets root for Siobahn….clearly the ‘prettiest voice’ left!!!!
hahaha…i can totally see Katie singing that. BTW, inspirational songs sucks as a theme. The worst part about Idol (other than the lip-synched results performances) is the crap inspirational songs winners are required to sing. That’s all the “inspiration” I can handle from American Idol, thank you very much.
I must say though, if you go on youtube and read the comments under any Andrew Garcia video and his supporters are making this sound like a bigger travesty than the Hindenburg- don’t even dare tell THEM it was justified
he was sent home cause he is a loser and wood never win anyway. no one else even has a chance but Crystal. they should just send the rest of the losers home and let MAMASOX sing for the hole show at least they wood get better rating then! BOW-ER-SOX!~
@Crystal is God
What are you – twelve??
Yeah JT, I’m 12, 12 times cooler then you fool! HA HA LOSER! BOW-ER-SOX BOW-ER-SOX~
@Crystal is God
LOL: Thanks for confirming what I already suspected.
Now, go run and play in traffic for awhile.
Woah….this is the first place I’ve seen dislike for Big Mike. Everyone else online and offline loves him and wants him in the Top 3 with Crystal/Lee/Casey(and now Tim lol).
Very bittersweet moment for me. On the one hand, I’m very very happy that Andrew was sent home. He was annoying and cocky and my least favorite contestant.
But I’m sad (although not completely surprised) that Katie was sent home. I think she was improving and, I dunno, I kinda liked her. I was hoping Aaron would be eliminated with Andrew but…well…what can ya do?!
Overall, a not so shocking elimination…
I’m sad Andrew’s gone! Despite a few rough weeks, he really had a lot more promise than some of the other contestants. So sad.
I really like his voice. His audition and Hollywood week got me hooked, but then terrible song choices from there (minus Forever). As soon as I saw he was singing Hound Dog, I knew he was gone. That song is WAY to karaoke, there was no way anyone would be safe with that song. I bet even if Bowersox did Hound Dog, she would get bad reviews from the judges.
Andrew’s performances were just getting worst every single week. American got it right this time!
I liked Andrew : [ Didn’t think he was coc.ky at all, he was so nice and hilarious in the backstage interviews. Loved his voice.
I must admit I was…nervous…that Tim was going to go home!
Casey’s hair was blowdried and curled to Melissa Ethridge perfection.
You are so right! I envied Casey’s perfect tresses tonight. I can only dream of hair that silky and straight, and I’m a girl.
Casey is just so adorable….natural and unpretentious!! His hair suits him!
so happy. Tim.
I can’t quite believe Tim’s still here, but it makes me happy! I think a lot of people are rooting for Tim because he stood up to the judges without being disrespectful. I remember a lot of people used to hate Tim, but chose to support him after Kara asked him if he understood what they were saying to him. So you can blame this on Kara!
how do we know it wasn’t all a setup to gain sympathy votes for the little creep?
I don’t think Kara’s that good of an actress. When she really likes someone, it’s obvious (like asking Casey to take off his shirt). Kara didn’t like Tim because he was the last minute replacement, and she probably wanted to bring someone else in. Kara was truly pi**ed off that night. Randy and Kara don’t like Tim, while Ellen and Simon are more sympathetic to him.
Tim actually should of been gone the first week when he did apologize but I think he got the sympathy vote then because the producers brought him back. Now people are voting for him to pi.. of TPTB and judges. If you notice they have been nice to him last couple of weeks. But come on people this is a singing contest: he needs to go, and it is getting annoying. I think he should of went before Katie – but not to upset with outcome.
“I think a lot of people are rooting for Tim because he stood up to the judges without being disrespectful.”
Yeah, but Crystal did the same thing a few weeks ago when Simon made the ridiculous comment about her being the frontrunner.
And, unlike Tim, Crystal can SING.
I wouldn’t call Crystal denying that she is a frontrunner to judges that worship her as a replacement Bonnie Raitt ….exactly standing up to them.
There are three contestants so far that have stood their ground.
Tim – Who had a A-level happy comeback to Kara’s stupid tirade against him. “Why shouldn’t I be happy! I’m competing on American Idol and it is all good”.
Katie for telling the judges that they were giving conflicting advice that was destroying her confidence and would make her unable to perform if she tried listening to them (well yes, Katie, that was the plan! All females not named Crystal are in the judges crosshairs.)
And finally Siobhans A+ stand up to them, resisting them attempting to define her and force her into a tidy little 19AI product box:
“I don’t know who I am yet, if I cannot define yet who I am and what singing I do while I’m still developing, how can you. I sing because I like to sing, and I like many types of singing.”
Siobhan right from her heart – cut to the core of teen identity – and likely right to the heart of each and every person who is a teen or remembers as an adult their own teen years of self-doubt, searching for what they want to do with their lives. Magnus likely didn’t plan it, it just sprang out, but it was sincere and said perfectly.
It showed as well the utter absurdity of Cowell and others using their favorite youthful contestant basher – the “I’m not sure you know who you are as an artist yet, Aaron!” Well, no kidding…that and not driving a car and never being in love and never sleeping with a girl are Aarons other sins as a 16-year old with a great voice..
@Chris Ford,
It was more than Crystal just denying her frontrunner status.
Simon accused her of being too complacent because she was the frontrunner – as though she had a massive ego and thought she had the competition in the bag.
Had Crystal responded with less grace and sincerity, this could have started a HUGE backlash against her.
I had to mute Adam Lambert. Damn, his voice is like kittens being thrown into a wood chipper. Kinda wished those lasers also functioned as a cone of silence.
you must be deaf!!!
I was deafened by the first 30 seconds of that performance. Couldn’t get to the mute button quickly enough
If I wasn’t before, I was after he sang.
Oh Garrish, poor you!!!!! Adam is amazing and you’re obviously just trying hard to put him down!! Don’t worry he will be singing in your ears for many more years to come so ya better throw your TV out the window!
LOL!! ITA! I found his performance kind of boring. Sorry Glamberts, don’t kill me.
Boring? Really? Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but Adam Lambert is NEVER boring.
Boring. Love him or hate him, but Adam is never boring.
Wish that cone of silence can surround you. Hater!
Your opinion. *shrugs* (Although I do worry how you know what the sound of kittens/wood chipper is like.)
I personally loved Adam. Excellent vocals, visually stunning, that was a fantastic performance! It was everyone else I had to mute! Guess that was the excitement for this year then.
Madam was mediocre. Good thing he brought the lasers for entertainment ( waits for herd of angry sparkle cows).
He has been the only life on that stage since this season started. He was fantastic
I am so with you, he’s the best male singer the show has ever had.
You are probably a Gokey lover..or either you had your bible shoved in your ear and thats why you couldnt hear adam awesomeness
I like Adam. A lot of people do and a lot of people don’t. It doesn’t make them “gokey lovers” or people with “bible shoved in their ears”. Understand that.
I love that you use religion as an insult. How very Lambert-lover of you BLINDLY attack someone on their religious beliefs, when you persecute others for doing the same to Adam about his sexuality. How very hypocritical of you.
Also, didn’t vote for Danny (loathe him, actually), so take that, like the bible you spoke about earlier, and shove it up your ass.
Thank you Shana.
I don’t care one way or the other about Gokey, and I’m practically an atheist, but I still don’t care for Adam. Doesn’t make me evil, just means my taste in music is different from yours. There’s no need to get nasty about it on either side.
It is okay to support your singer, but come on why disrespect an entire sect of people by your Bible comment. People can dislike Adam with it having nothing to do with religion, like myself. I don’t care for his music and I am a gay man. Again, support away, but that venom is awful ugly.
What do you mean? Are you saying people cannot enjoy a variety of music? I am a Gokey lover AND an Adam lover. Also a DC lover….and a Lee Dewyze lover. But ESPECIALLY DC!
WHO CARES if you are GAY? Oh because ADAM is gay and you are GAY that is suppose to mean something? Being Gay or reglious has NOTHING to do whether you like Adam or not. I see alot of haters have gotten so numb because of this season’s contestant’s they can’t see a REAL show if it bet them on their better side. What a bunch of ignorant haters there are in this world.
Tami, those haters are only a small minority of the population. I couldn’t care less for their opinions, they can whine all they want and go suck their thumbs!
UGH! I love Adam with ALL my heart but people like you give all his fans a bad name. It’s not OK for people to use Adam’s sexuality as an “insult” against his music (don’t like his music or his performance, fine, everyone has the right to like or dislike something, opinions, apples and oranges, blah blah yadda yadda), it’s also not OK for you to use people’s religious beliefs as an “insult” against their opinion. You make the irrational haters look good when you stoop that low.
I agree with Garrish!!!!! Adam can’t sing he screams, and what’s up with the eyeshadow gross…..
you are gross!!!
Umm, where have you been? You are first noticing this? Gokey screams! That comment is starting to sound older than my grandmother. You would think people would come up with more original material after all this time!
I agree jmh…….what is up with this old crap? Hater, be a hater, but dang can YOU come up with orginal crap?
ADAM WAS AWESOME…….IF YOU WANT SCREAMING CHECK OUT DANNY GOKEY FROM LAST YEAR ON IDOL AND HIS AREOSMITH TRY…….LOL NOW THAT IS SCREAMING…..
I’ll take Danny Gokey’s album over Adam Lambert’s album anyday. Danny rules!
Tyler, go buy Danny Gokey’s album then. He’s needs your help!
I just changed the channel until he was done. I will grant you that he has talent, but I don’t care for him. And it seems to me he’s looking a little bloated these days.
Jennifer your post are getting old. Dear look into the mirror and if you want bloated…..well there you go! Midol will help with that………:)
I’m with Jen. I don’t care for him either. And that’s my choice. I’m entitled to my opinion. If you like Adam, then like him… but stop attacking people that don’t.
wWoWw, what kind of crap is that? Hey I am with Tami. You are entitled to your opinion, she is entitled to hers. Actually if you READ her comment, Jen was not talking at all about Adam’s singing much, she was attacking his looks, that is personal so if a fan wants to defend her artist so be it……if you can dish it out then you better be able to take it…….so back off wWoWw or what ever the hell your nic is……..next!
I agree – Adam is soooooo last year. Now stand back – no one is allowed to not LOVE ADAM here! Sad really, he had so much potential and threw it all away.
and of course you are so wildly popular and everyone loves you.
How did he throw it away? It just boggles my mind about how much info the haters have on Adam, I mean some of them know more about him than I do, and I am a fan. If I didn’t like someone (Kris Allen) I sure don’t go on any article about them much less know much about them. Wow…..get a life haters.
There you go! It didn’t take long for someone to bring Kris Allen in this. Tami what did Kris do? Ok, you are upset about all the “hate” comments towards your beloved Adam, (who I like) but you don’t have to bring Kris into this. Come on!
Love or hate Adam (there really doesn’t seem to be any middle ground with this guy), he managed to do one thing that the vast majority of AI guest performances did not – actually SING. Yeah, Usher, Diddy, Kei$ha and Miley, I’m talking about at YOU.
I just have to laugh at haters like you who always so eager to find any articles that mention Adam Lambert so you can be as nasty as you want. Get a life!
In all fairness, the article is about S9 AI not Adam Lambert. He happened to be on the show, so people can critique his performance. The derogatory remarks are not needed. Adam is not my favorite, but I actually liked his performance last night except the laser portion. This is the one song I actually downloaded from his album.
Are you telling us you actually know how kittens going through a wood chipper sounds like? You freak, there’s a place for guys like you, it’s called prison.
You are so right…..hes probably the next una-bomber or something!!
That kitten response has to be one of the great ones of all times, I agree and it really made me laugh
@ GARRISH I have too agree 100%. Madam Hambutt is trash, he sounded worse then finger nails on a chalk bored, he was worse then a cat in heet being throw off the empire state building (stole that from Simon last year during audisions LOL) he was worse then the stupid old man who sang pants on the ground. he was so bad that my dog thru up. I wish the lasers were like laser guns and dissinagrated him too death. he was worse then stupid fat ugly Siobahan if thats even possibull. I can’t believe they let him mentour any one God no wonder they all suck so bsd except for MAMASOX. BOW-ER-SOX BOW-ER-SOX!
YOU ARE NUTS!! Get your hearing tested, please.
If the post is by “Crystal is God”, I just scroll right on past. Why bother to read such drivel??
how many times are you going to post about crystal..get over we now know you are obsessed!!Good God move on..I like her to but all you do is foam at the mouth with hate about everyone else..GO AWAY!!!
@ssc – ….and you are telling us how much a giant loser you are for what reason? no one cares what you scrol past and what you read any way. you probly scrol past every thing cause you are to dumb to read and are just hear looking at the pictures and there are none so go some wear else loser. BOW-ER-SOX ~ BOW-ER-SOX~
Huh? The first 30 secs? So you weren’t even watching? He sang A Capella the first 30 secs and it was really flawless. I just don’t get you internet trolls. If you don’t dig his style, no one cares. He’s such a good guy, his mentoring session kicked as.s, why bash? Someone will take you seriously the day you have your legends wanting to hang out and work with you like he does. Oh and hopefully you really did go deaf <3
OMG it was SOOOOO MUCH FUN TO SEE LIVE!!!!!! The lazers were 3D, best thing I’ve ever seen!!!! LOL I got real chills, I think everyone did and the cheers were mad. He sounded amazing live. Gained a lot of respect for Adam Lambert after his mentoring session. He would make an awesome teacher.
Glad Andrew is home. Can’t see why they had to point out that Mike wasn’t in the bottom three, yet he was up with Katie. Hmm…how often do you think they do that??
My guess is a lot more than what you may think. It should always just be the bottom dwellers and NOT a contestant put there for dramatic purposes.
A few years back Ryan admitted that one of the final two standing had one of the highest vote tallies for the night.
I did not want to see Mrs. Big Mike tonight after the announcement. She was clapping like a ninny with no regard for the fact that Katie and her family are now feeling the way she was last week. You’d think she of all people could muster up a little compassion and hold in the rejoicing for just a few minutes.
I know! what was that about? but I think we should really blame the camera people for that… Katie gets cut and they immediately pan to Mike’s family? ugh.
Fair – I think you’re right about blaming the camera people. Did anyone see BM nodding a little during Katie’s singoff? At first I thought it was pompous “damn straight I wasn’t in the bottom three” nodding, but on second watch I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was pride/sympathy…
The workers on the show are jerks! Thats why they have Kara and Simon working as judges!!! The show should be called: An experience dealing with TYRANTS!!!!!
He’s like, the large version of Danny Gokey. I don’t know WHY Slezak hasn’t called him out on that. I don’t even like Katie, but I threw my shoes at the TV just as I did last year during Allison’s elimination
EXACTLY Logistics, when they panned to Dannys douchey family cheering last year after allisons elimination, i was livid!!
Yeah, useless Tim and Aaron for another week. Katie was awesome.
I was shocked Katie went home. She actually listened to Adam’s advice and she rocked it! I love that lil Aaron but he should have gone home instead of Katie. I still like Big Mike but the man has to have some humble pie. His actions are either getting taken wrong and he means what it looks like……..pompous and cocky. Not a good thing man.
Big Mike is pimping is newborn baby. Gokey was pimping his dead wife. Much worse.
Katie has the most annoying tone to her voice and one of the worst dictions I’ve ever heard. She was so TERRIBLE. Like a 13 year old singing awfully in front of her mirror in unflattering, ridiculous clothes.
Yeah. I didn’t like Katie much, but watching Lynche’s people and wife cheering and clapping made me dislike them and consider them trashy people.
I also didn’t like that after his pro forma “lovable huggy huggy man clench of Katie” when she lost – he bounded back to wrap her up in his arms and get more BM face time in right after the song ended. Crystal had the 1st shot with Katie. But then “Big Mike” stuck her against him.
So Katie was wrapped up again & smothered in Mr. adorable Huggy-Huggyman’s arms and chest and blocked from other contestants wishing her well and interacting in the closing minutes.
All while the Big Tool had positioned himself to once more be the face the camera saw as he gave the endearing words he now doubt came up with sitting placid-faced while sadness was written all over Lee, Siobhan, Aaron, and Crystals faces.
Arghh!
Calm down, it’s a show.
Yeah, we’re putting on a show! If you want the studio version of Big Mike being a supertool, check him out on iTunes.
I was a little sad to see Katie go, she seemed like a sweet girl, I would have rather seen “check me out on I Tunes” Big Mike be voted off again, but hey, at least Andrew finally got the boot.
Once again, the best part of the show…ADAM. Holy crap, his summer tour is going to be UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLE!
Really? I thought it sucked. Is that one of his songs? He was my fave from last season but since that stunt on that awards show, not crazy about him. He was pretty lame tonight though, admit it.
Adam was not lame. He is now FREE to perform as he sees fit. He was great. Every time he sings that song he does it different…..he is never boring and he excites that stage…..come on admit it, he was far better than anyone on that idol stage……..come on.
Kiara is so pathetic. She really seems to think that Adam is some sort of God. Just read her constant posts defending him.
lala I see nothing wrong with Kiara defending Adam. That is what a fan does. Just like YOU are all over this board attacking him with lame words. Now, how are you better? Not much at all. So I think not only are YOU pathetic and a moron but junvenile as well.
I’m with Steve. Adam was lame tonite. But it wasn’t his vocals–it was the song. Song stunk.
Seriously, do you haters have nothing else to talk about??? Why aren’t you talking about Andrew and Katie??? Do you people have no life but to search for Adam on the internet every single day to spew hatred??? How pathetic!!
DD what’s wrong with them giving their opinion on your idol’s performance? they didn’t like it, so be it. it doesn’t make them haters. no need to burst a blood vessel over it.
You’re joking, right? He was INCREDIBLE! So good even though that song is not on par with his voice. It was like a live remix. Chuffed he has people like Slash, Spielberg, Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Tyler, Tim Burton, Demi Moore, JMcHale, Rob Marshall, Muse, Madonna, Cuomo, Selena Williams, Gaga, LPerry, Stephen Fry, P&L Presley as fans and friends when there are people like you in the world. “Stunts” at the AMAs LOLLLL oh lord. None of the female ‘STUNTS’ offended you – not even Eminem rapping about having RA.PED 17 women bothered you – disgusting. God you’re so see-through. His AMAs perf was his 3rd hottest performance he’s ever given. Glad it showed his fans’ true colors. I was hoping it would get rid of all the bigoted and musically close-minded stunted morons calling themselves fans but some of you are STILL clinging? Begone PLS.
ADAM LAMBERT WAS EPIC….he changes up every song every time he sings them. He definitley showed them how it is done..Ryan agreed by his comment!!
I kinda have to disagree. He lacked a lot of the charisma he had last year on Idol. Maybe the vortex of “suck” surrounding this season has gotten to him too, but this performance was NOT his best. Liked him better on SYTYCD
Yea, didn’t think Adam did well. Whole performance overshadowed by special effects, and his voice sounded very strained.
Since Adam isnt a contestant this year, do you think him and Ryan hooked up?
Nah, credit Adam with having SOME taste.
Why would he hook up with Ryan??? ooohhhhh I get it because he is GAY and according to your warped reasoning, gay men hook up with ANY men they meet right? Right. Kbye.
…after that response, I’m betting Josee is a gay man who hooks up with anyone.
@Josee……..don’t they????????
I still feel the judges save is stupid and hope Big Mike goes next week because duh he wasn’t going this week but glad Andrew’s gone and looking forward to next weeks theme.
adam sang “whataya want from me”. just one “t”
Actually it is whattaya with 2 t’s. look it up!!!
I liked him better 2 weeks ago when he was in Japan and not on my television
Daman, I’m looking at his song right now in iTunes. The word is spelled with one ‘t’.
It’s most definitely one “t”.
You have some serious internal issues Garrish.
Sad for Katie…
You know what I love about Adam Lambert?
He gives me things that I did not even know I wanted. Tornado! I did not know I would like to see a tornado tonight.
He is just so damn talented!
That made me LOL. I didn’t know I wanted to see a tornado either, but I’ve watched one 7 times in a row now.
what do special effects have to do with him? They don’t make him “talented”. How about simple emotional connection?
you know what? Some people are into music that just gets you pumped and feeling good and gets adrenaline flowing and get away from all the deep and emotional things that life throws at you! Not everyone is looking for an emotional connection to the music they listen to! Some people just want to have fun and escape from the deep!
Exactly Jim. I agree with you. Adam has talent with or without special effects (Mad World, Track of my tears etc…)… but the effects are like some extra hot fudge on top of your sundae…. oh wait that’s not what you meant is it?? haha
Oh but I do like an emotional connection also. Which is why I love Kris Allen so very much also! But I can also like a show. When did talent become about only having an emotional connection with a song. There are differnt tyes of talent and I like many different types. We are all different people and have different tastes.
This is not to say that Adam does not emotionally connect to songs. He does, but he has many talents and the one a like the most is his ability to put on a show. And even though he did not create the set, he put on a damn good show. What is wrong with using technology to support an act. It just makes it more fun!
I’ve seen Adam be a lot more emotionally connected to that song than he seemed tonight. I do like it when he sings it simply, because it is emotionally charged.
But, what the hey, he’s done it a bajillion times on other shows now. So, why not play around with it. I thought he was “idoling it up” tonight and it made me laugh with pleasure. Lazers and all.
After all, the reason they brought him in as a mentor (besides propping up his “struggling” careet) was to remind the kids that they can make their songs the Crystal Concert or Siobhan Show or Bike Mike’s Mega-Extravaganza or whatever. He certainly did that.
Struggling career? Where do you get that his career is struggling? By reading what Ken the whacked producer said? Do you have a mind of your own? Research, then come back and say that.
I thought he was DOPE. The winner bores me. I’mma get me some lazerbeam drumsticks.
And seriously, that gleeful “I brought lazers!” was kind of adorable.
