the one where julia, anthony and bernice help out mary jo at the burger joint.
also the “Curtains” episode.
what episode was it where charlene was meeting Bill’s family for the first time and her future MIL was being so rude about proper etiquette? Julia had some really poignant things to say, that the real reason for manners and etiquette was not to make people feel bad but to help them feel comfortable.
I’ve been enjoying watching “Designing Women” on YouTube. Love them as much now as I did when they were new.
I love the episode where Julia’s son dates a snooty professor. The scene where Julia and Payne are talking and Julia says that every night before her head touches the pillow she thanks God for giving her such a wonderful son is so tender and beautiful. Of course, before long she’s ripping that snotty professor a new one, threatening her with a trip to the woodshed from whence only one of them will return!
Dixie Carter made Julia Sugarbaker a three-dimensional, true to life woman. I love both of them and always will.
One of my favorite “Julia” moments is in the episode “Reservations for 8″. While I can’t remember the entire scene, I do remember her final line, “So if the world isn’t quite what you had in mind, you have only yourselves to thank!” And another is when the ladies are planning the funeral of a friend who has AIDS, and Julia tears into another client saying something about her being at the free clinic all the time. Dixie Carter was a true Southern lady, and her character of Julia Sugarbaker is just incredible.
My favorite was when her and Mary Jo get stuck under the newscasters bed! I can’t even think about it without laughin! Wish I could’ve seen the originals but i probably wasn’t even born yet, and I will probably never get to see all of the episodes!
