Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Another sneak peek

Yet another teaser for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is out, and it continues to look pretty cool. The video covers more of the walk-through-Hogwarts angle than any rides or anything, but still. Nerdgasm.

My one beef? How can you show us Dumbledore’s office, but not show us Fawkes?!

On a scale of “looks cool” to “I will have my wedding here,” how are you feeling about the Wizarding World, PopWatchers?

A preview of the attractions
Can it live up to the hype?

But professor Binns doesn’t teach DDA…that little thing will bug me for eternity.

I hate when people get the little details wrong. It makes all the difference.

I noticed that too! However, didn’t Jo Rowling consult extensievly on the entie project? She has vetoed things in the movies that she felt were inconsistent or wrong, so apparently Professor Binns being in the DADA classroom is okay with her, so it will have to be okay with me. But it still seems wrong.

The creators said Binns is only substituting until Dumbledore can find a permanent teacher to take over the post.
I think the Forbidden Journey rides includes elements from all 7 books, so they probably wanted to avoid dating the ride by having one of the previous DADA teachers there. Each one of them is associated with a specific year: Quirrell-year one, Lockhart-year two, etc. So I think using Binns is just strategy, plus it will be cool to see him since he’s not in any of the films.

The premise is that you (the visiting muggle) are *supposed* to attend a History of Magic lecture with Professor Binns but Harry, Ron and Hermione interupt and take you to the DDA room to go on an adventure instead.

My daughter and I are SO excited to go! I only have one complaint about the Wizarding World–it’s too small! It’s only one-fifth of the Islands of Adventure. I say it needs to expand and take over the other four islands, then it would be just about right.

  • Heather

Ah I can’t wait, I already have a roadtrip planned with 3 carloads of people all really excited to see Harry Potter come to life!

  • Andrea

I may have my honeymoon here.

  • Celia

My WEDDING will be there! No doubt! It’s amazing!! I can’t wait to go!! I still can’t believe they’re actually building Hogwarts!! I’m in complete disbelief!

  • anna

I want to go to there!

  • Lex

I’ve got my flight booked and I will be booking my hotel by the end of the month. I’m having my one year wedding anniversary there. My husband and I could NOT be more excited!

    • Lex

…Also…i’m coming all the way out from California. That’s how badly we want to go!
