After a traffic surge that crippled RyanSeacrest.com for much of the day, the site — which received a redesign courtesy of Joel McHale for April Fools Day — is now viewable. We tried to get McHale and Seacrest to share how the idea came about, but have been told they prefer to let the jokes speak for themselves.
What’s been your favorite part of McHale’s takeover? For top tweet, I’ll go with “Ryan here: just interviewed @SelenaGomez. She was awesome. Really connected. PSYCH! IT’S STILL JOEL!#seacresthacked” and for choice web site component, definitely the headline “Relive Joel McHale’s Epic Cameo in Spider-Man 2.”
Oh wait, Breaking News: “E! News Moves to Fridays at 10PM.”
Pity there’s not a new episode of Community on tonight for McHale to plug.

I love Joel.
Joel McHale wins at life. That is all.
Funniest April Fool’s joke ever!
JOEL ROCKS !!!!!!
Oh Joel, just when I thought I couldn’t love you more…
Joel is freaken’ awesome!!! I love it when he makes fun of Ryan on “The Soup.”
Am I the only one to find Joel McHale quite gorgeous?
This was the best prank of the day handsdown. I love Joel McHale
Joel McHale <3
Sandro, you are not alone.
RYAN…U R THE BEST HOST EVER…SO NATURAL….THE BEST IN THE TRADE….
This is pretty frakking hilarious. Now I’m just imagining Joel and Ryan coming up with all this stuff. The little things (like they’re paid endorsers for bing) are what make it AMAZING.
And Joel looks HOT in those GQ pics.
What an excellent mosaic of media. Congratulations. You have taken traditional TV, synchronous and asynchronous media and new popular media and woven them all together to provide entertainment. Thanks for sharing with the world a great way to use social networking website design.
