'The Good Wife': Alicia picks tonight!

I’m guessing I’m not the only one who squealed when she (or he) first saw the promo for tonight’s episode of The Good Wife (CBS, 10 p.m. EST). Peter wants to become a better man through religion, but Alicia may have already found one — Will. What do you hope happens? I think it’s too soon for Alicia and Will to couple. Not because it could ruin the show or because I feel any loyalty to Peter (who I would have already left), but because I’m not ready to give up that sexual tension. What would make it even hotter: Will taking us to that boiling point, as the promo shows, then Alicia pulling back. After all the suggestive dialogue (“Then use me”) and lingering looks, to have him fired up enough to actually attempt to act on the attraction they’re feeling? I could live on that until the end of season 2.

I don’t want Alicia to really try working it out with Peter (which is what I fear she’ll do); I just want her to decide that if she were to jump into bed with Will, it would only fuel the tabloids and bring more unwanted attention to the people she cares about. For the time being, she needs to keep Peter living in a separate bedroom and stay out of Will’s. After an initial period when Will would try to change her mind, he could move on and begin to date someone. She’d get jealous, and we’d build to another moment in his office when they’re about to kiss — only this time, Alicia would be the other woman. So she’d pull back. The writers can’t get too soapy — what’s great about Alicia is how calm, levelheaded, and almost detached she is. But it’s a story line that could simmer on the back burner and occasionally cause a splash, just like the Will-Alicia-Peter love triangle did for the first half of the season.

Your turn. How do you want this to play out tonight?

'Breaking Dawn' poll: Which Oscar-friendly director gets your vote?

Categories: Movies, Twilight

Sources tell EW’s Nicole Sperling that Summit has reached out to at least three Oscar nominees about possibly helming the final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, including Gus Van Sant (Milk, Good Will Hunting), Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls).

My reaction:

• These aren’t the sort of directors you’d associate with the term “3D,” so fans who are against the technology being used for the final film(s) might have reason to breathe a little easier.

• I’m surprised how strongly I responded to Coppola’s name. Contrary to all my Robert Pattinson blog posts and Taylor Lautner Bicep Watches, it’d be nice to end this series with the focus on Bella (Kristen Stewart), and Coppola knows her way around complicated young women (see also: The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette).

• Condon, who went from directing 1995′s Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh to winning an Oscar for writing 1998′s Gods and Monsters, is a clever thought.

• Van Sant has always taken the drama of young adulthood seriously, whether it be in Good Will Hunting, My Own Private Idaho, Finding Forrester, Elephant, or Paranoid Park.

Your pick?

'Glee': Which performance can't you wait to see?

Glee-Lynch-MattImage Credit: Patrick Ecclesine/Fox(2)By now, you should have read our spoilerific recap of Sunday’s Glee panel at PaleyFest ‘10. Which upcoming performance can’t you wait to see when the show returns with new episodes, starting April 13? For me, it’s a tie between Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris’ “Dream On” (the falsetto!) and Jane Lynch and Olivia Newton-John’s recreation of the “Physical” video. “I needed a good jogging bra for that,” Lynch jokes… Okay, she got me. Your turn.

'RuPaul's Drag Race' recap: Is Pandora Boxx 'the Susan Lucci of this competition'?

Henry-Rollins-ruPaulImage Credit: Rolling Blackouts/LOGOYou can always count on RuPaul to speak the truth. And, natch, for being funny as hell while doing it. It’s one of the queen’s best attributes. On last night’s episode of Drag Race, the host couldn’t have been more spot on with her searing bon mot to eternally funny queen Pandora Boxx, as she awaited her fate after the rocker chick-inspired challenge: “Pandora Box,” RuPaul said, in her hilarious, deeply dramatic fashion, “you are the Susan Lucci of this competition.”

And RuPaul is right — the poor, poor Pandora Boxx, a favorite contestant of mine who pulled off a truly wacky but inspired rocker gal with a cape and all, once again did not win the challenge. She was robbed, I tell you! But, I suppose we can’t feel too badly for Pandora, can we? Just because she didn’t win — the problem that infamously plagued All My Children diva Lucci for years at the Daytime Emmys — doesn’t mean she lost. No, the dubious distinction of last night’s loser went to none other than Sahara Davenport, who has spent her fair share of time in the bottom this season on Drag Race. Now, throughout these first six episodes, I’ve liked the uber-sweet and feminine Sahara Davenport just fine, especially after the rocky first week where it also seemed like she was going to be sent packing, but her efforts at lipsynching last night were abysmal at best.

'Gossip Girl' recap: Some burning (and not-so-burning) questions answered

gossip_girlsImage Credit: Giovanni Rufino/The CW Many questions were answered during last night’s episode of Gossip Girl. Some – like those about Chuck’s mom – were of vast importance to the characters and could have a lasting impact. Others – like whether we will ever in our lifetime see a less attractive post-coital pose than the one Dan Humphrey was in after getting it on with Vanessa (Answer: No) – were not important at all but still entertaining. I’m filling in for Tim Stack, who is off doing things that will surely be of interest to you (but I can’t tell what they are because I’d get in trouble). But fear not, he will be back next week to dissect an episode about Jenny’s virginity for you. In the meantime, let’s get to the episode, presented to you in Q&A’ form. Note: Don’t read on if you haven’t seen last night’s episode. In fact, if you haven’t, what are you doing here? Go, shoo, shoo! READ FULL STORY »

'24' recap: You really blew it this time, Kayla

Categories: 24, Mini TV Watch, Television

24_keiferImage Credit: Kelsey McNeal/FOXI suppose I can understand why 24 is down 10 percent in viewers this season – blame it on producers’ shocking decision to put Renee front and center so early in the season, or that damnable Dana – and yet I wish all those disillusioned fans who opted out would have given Jack a chance to win back their love. Last night’s episode was the season’s best by far; I didn’t see Tarin’s double-cross of Kayla coming for a mile, nor did I predict the plot point to take out CTU.  Granted, the episode ended up playing out exactly how Ken Tucker described last week – that so many of these scenarios have occurred in previous seasons so it feels like a so-so year – and yet I wasn’t the least bit annoyed that CTU was obliterated for the second time in its eight-season run (what year did it happen last?) Were you equally as forgiving? READ FULL STORY »

'Totally Lost': We host a 'Dr. Linus' study group and tease tonight's episode

totally-lostImage Credit: Mario Perez/ABCOh, Benjamin Linus—are you a power-hungry killer/liar with highly flammable pants, or some kind of misunderstoood manchild who just wants to belong? Last week’s episode, “Dr. Linus,” seemed to make a case for the latter, though it doesn’t take a Yale applicant to know that the obvious answer may not be the right answer when it comes to Lost. If you’re craving deeper examination of such matters, you might want to watch this week’s installment of Totally Lost, the only Internet show about Lost that’s hosted by Jeff Jensen and Dan Snierson. We put Ben under a microscope, process new Jacob intel, and toss you a few teasers about tonight’s episode, titled “Recon.”  To complete your end of the transaction, simply vote in the poll, watch the video, and share your opinions below. Where did “Dr. Linus” rank among this season’s episodes? What will Ben do next? Do you think  that Jacob gave different “gifts” to each of the castaways he touched? And what did you make of that underwater cliffhanger?

Jessica Simpson's 'The Price of Beauty': The PopWatch Love It/Loathe It

Jessica-Simpson-BeautyImage Credit: VH1After she became the subject of tabloid fodder last year, following a series of unflattering pictures circulating the Web, Jessica Simpson sought out to develop a television show that proved beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. The result? The Price of Beauty, which premiered tonight on Vh1. Like anything Simpson produces these days (movies, songs, weaves, etc.), the show has become a topic of debate — in EW’s own offices. Here, EW editor extraordinaires Kate Stroup and Kate Ward sound off about whether they loved or loathed Beauty. (Ward previously gave the show a B+ grade, so you can guess which side she took.) Voice your own opinion about the show after the jump, and vote in our love it/loathe it poll!

KATE WARD: So, Kate, Jessica Simpson has made her long-awaited return to reality television in her new show The Price of Beauty. Are we willing to finally get past the mom jeans and accept that she’s actually producing something good for once? In the name of Sweet Kisses, I say so!

KATE STROUP: Okay, I’ll admit it. I watched Newlyweds, and I found Jessica’s chicken-or-fish antics oddly endearing. So I was happy to hear she was returning to the world of reality TV — she’s always seemed more comfortable there than on, say, the radio. But honestly, there’s nothing much to admire about The Price of Beauty. She’s as clueless as ever. But now, as she travels the world, her missteps are less funny and, on occasion, downright offensive. Laughing at a Buddhist monk? Gagging — loudly — at the food for sale in a local market?

Corey Feldman remembers Corey Haim: 'I loved him'

Categories: In Memoriam, Movies

Corey-Haim-FeldmanImage Credit: Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesThey were lost boys together. Teenage stars. Lifelong pals. In fact, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman were so close, it’s nearly impossible not to talk about the two actors in the same sentence. Following the untimely March 10 passing of his best friend, Feldman spoke to EW about their friendship and Haim’s troubles with substance abuse. The actor shared the story of how the two young stars became close pals: “Lost Boys was a difficult shoot. There was a lot of tension on set, a lot of yelling,” Feldman says. ”The older kids — Brooke McCarter, Billy Wirth, a few of those guys  — were having these parties every night; they had tinfoil on their windows so that they could catch up on their sleep during the day. Corey, our costar Jamison Newlander, and I wanted to hang out with them, but they didn’t want us around. So we stayed in the hotel, watching movies, going to the arcade, and we became great friends.”

Of course, things weren’t always so bright for the duo, and Feldman also talked to EW about his and Haim’s struggles. “I know what it feels like to be on top of the world and then suddenly have nobody returning your calls,” he says. ”He would call me and say, ‘You’re my best friend. I need you.’ So if he needed a place to stay, if he needed money, I was there for him. What could I do? I loved him.”

For more of Feldman’s thoughts on Haim, pick up the new issue of EW on stands Friday, March 19.

Exclusive First Look! Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz team up on 'Bad Teacher'

Timberlake-Diaz-TeacherImage Credit: Gemma La ManaBefore the tabloids get themselves all in a twist, this exclusive photo is of Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake dancing together in a movie — namely, Bad Teacher, which started shooting just nine days ago. (The comedy is due in 2011.) “They obviously know each other really well,” director Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) says of his stars. “They’re good friends, and they’re both incredibly funny people. I couldn’t be more excited about it.”

According to Kasdan, Diaz is playing no less than the worst 7th grade teacher ever. “She’s usually hungover when she gets to school,” he says. “She’s kind of foul mouthed. And she’s completely fixated on trying to afford breast augmentation surgery, and very open about it. She believes it will help her find the right man who will take care of her for the rest of her life.” Enter Timberlake, as a substitute teacher “who happens to be the heir to a watch-making company,” says Kasdan. “She thinks he seems like a good target.” (Jason Segel rounds out the cast as a gym teacher who pines for Diaz’s character.)

Kasdan says Diaz was the first to come aboard the production, and happily signed off on the idea of playing opposite Timberlake. “They have a shared sense of humor,” he says. “It’s easy for them to be funny together. You know where the jokes are.”

So, PopWatchers, what do you make of Justin and Cameron’s on-screen reunion?
