I hope you followed my 10 simple steps to make a fluid transition from agonizing work day to dazzling ballroom night and are resting comfortably atop a bedazzled blue fleece blanket that gives the illusion that you are floating in the Sequin Sea. (That was step 11.)

As of now, the “prem-ee-ay” has begun. Brooke Burke is the cohost and she looks like a mirrorball trophy. Clip du jour: 'Kuky Returns'

I don’t really know what’s going on in this trailer — an adorable coral bear has dangerous adventures? — but I still can’t wait to see Kuky Returns.

The little I could glean from the translated page leads me to believe that Kuky is the beloved bear of a six-year-old boy, who’s forced to give him away and then imagines Kuky’s wild journey.

Visually, Kuky se vrací looks fabulous. Plus I am a total sucker for toy stories. What do you think, PopWatchers? Doesn’t this look great? [via /Film]

'Get Him to the Greek' red band trailer: We can't say what happens. But it's funny.

Filed under: Movies and tagged: ,

The newest comedy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller, June 4′s Get Him to the Greek stars Jonah Hill as a music biz flunky who has to escort rock god Aldous Snow (Russell Brand, reprising his Sarah Marshall role) from the U.K. to L.A.’s Greek Theatre for a show.

Plenty of funny stuff — some involving Sean Combs, absinthe, and Meredith Vieira — happens in the trailer. Sadly, none of it is printable. See for yourself after the jump!

In today's celebrity feuds: Ke$ha apologizes to Justin Bieber

Justin-Bieber-keshaImage Credit: Kevin Mazur/WireImage.comThese days, it seems impossible to find a gossip blog that doesn’t feature Ke$ha’s name in a headline. First, the singer got attention for the brash, bold, and unapologetic lyrics of her first single, “Tik Tok,” which prompted many naïve and excited youngsters to actually brush their teeth with a bottle of Jack Daniels. (Word to the wise: Don’t try this at home.) Then came her first public scandal, when she and a group of merry pranksters allegedly changed the legendary “Hollywood” sign to read “Ke$hawood.” (It was later ruled a hoax.) Later, she made out with equally outlandish singer Adam Lambert, just ‘cau$e $he can. Now, she’s done the unthinkable: The singer publicly criticized the grand dame of pop music, Britney Spears, and Canada’s cutest export, 16-year-old Justin Bieber.

In recent interview with Maxim, Ke$ha described Bieber as a “little baby,” and said how she would have loved to “push him around on stage in a carriage” during their presenting duties at the Grammy Awards in February. As for Britney? Well, seems Ke$ha was featured on a leaked track that contained the lyrics: “In ten years, Britney Spears…Britney who?” Today, Ke$ha took to her Twitter account to apologize: “dear justin b I am so sorry if my bad joke has hurt your feelings.u r obviouslyso talented andi would never mean to offend u. i think u r rad,” she tweeted. And the singer also explained the Britney-centric lyric during a recent guest appearance on Australia’s version of So You Think You Can Dance. (See the video embedded below.) READ FULL STORY »

Pauley Perrette as appealing as Tom Hanks and Morgan Freeman? Kinda awesome.

Pauley-Perrette-Mike-RoweImage Credit: Richard Foreman/CBS; Andrew Cutraro/DiscoveryMarketing Evaluations, Inc., The Q Scores Company, has just released its January/February 2010 Performer Q study, which asked a representative sample of 1,800 children, teens, and adults to rate the familiarity and appeal of personalities. The surprising results: Perennial favorite Tom Hanks’ Q Score is now tied with Morgan Freeman’s and NCIS‘ Pauley Perrette’s — which means even though Perrette is roughly half as well-known as Hanks and Freeman, those who are familiar with her adore her. She’s the only female in the Top 10 (posted below). Another interesting tidbit: Although Dirty Jobs‘ host Mike Rowe isn’t as recognizable as Will Smith, Johnny Depp, Bill Cosby, or Harrison Ford, his Q Score topped theirs — again meaning that those who do know him, love him.

Performer Familiarity % Q Score
1. Tom Hanks 88 50
2. Morgan Freeman 82 50
3. Pauley Perrette 42 50
4. Robin Williams 84 48
5. Clint Eastwood 85 46
6. Mike Rowe 57 45
7. Will Smith 90 44
8. Johnny Depp 91 43
9. Bill Cosby 91 43
10. Harrison Ford 83 43

It makes sense to me. If you know Perrette and Rowe, you’re a fan of NCIS and Dirty Jobs and probably only associate them with those shows — so what’s not to like? Her Abby is a smart, funny, loyal, goth forensic specialist on TV’s top drama (which has way more character development than anyone who’s never seen the show would expect); he’s a smart, funny guy who isn’t afraid to get messy to show how some choice work gets done. What do you think? Anyone you’re surprised not to see in the Top 10? Has a Tina Fey backlash begun?

Remember this?: Shannen Doherty's dancing past revealed!

To the outsider, Shannen Doherty may seem like a long shot to win this season of Dancing with the Stars, which begins tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC. (And, of course, be sure to log back onto EW.com following the show to check out Annie Barrett’s fab recaps.) But, then again, not everyone is a hardcore Doherty fan like myself. (I even sat through 1994′s heinous Blindfold: Acts of Obsession to prove my Doherty devotion.) I am well-aware that the actress can bust a move. The evidence of Doherty’s rhythmic skill is clear in more than a few episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210. Now, Doherty may not exactly be performing the Paso Doble in these scenes, but she certainly can drop it like it’s hot. And that will most likely come in handy at some point during the season.

Check out Doherty (as Brenda Walsh) and Brian Austin Green (as David Silver) rocking a pool party dance contest: READ FULL STORY »

Miley Cyrus will guest-mentor on 'American Idol'

Miley-Cyrus-IdolImage Credit: Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosDuring a routine scrape, American Idol producers found Miley Cyrus at the bottom of a barrel next to some Hannah Montana doll hair and decided to make her a guest mentor on tomorrow night’s show. Cyrus will bestow unto the Top 11 contestants bits of wisdom such as “Wear boots” and “Sound like a chain smoker,” and then she’ll perform her hit “When I Look At You” on Wednesday’s results show, according to a press release from Fox.

Are we really that surprised? The point of American Idol is to become a successful recording artist, not a good singer. It’s nice when the evidence of both co-mingle in the bloodstream of a teenager with a perfect face for extreme close-ups, but let’s not forget that this singing competition is also a three-month-long audition to star in a car commercial. I am a little shocked, though, that the Idol people don’t think we’ll immediately turn the channel if Miley attempts to explain herself via “singing.” That’s not gonna be good for business. That’s not gonna be good for anyone.

Happy Birthday, William Shatner!

william-shatnerImage Credit: Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosWilliam Shatner turns 79 today. I pause to celebrate him because I still have the 2008 Boston Legal series finale saved on my DVR, because I love that he signs his tweets “My best, Bill” (as in, “#youknowyoureoldwhen Young girls help you with your luggage because the carousel is too fast. My best, Bill”), because he always embraces who we want him to be (hello, new sci-fi social network myouterspace.com), and because he’s still working (a new album, the S— My Dad Says pilot).

Your turn.

Christian Slater to shoot comedy pilot: If at first you don't succeed...

Filed under: Television and tagged: , ,

Christian-SlaterImage Credit: Bob Charlotte/PR PhotosGive him points for persistence, I say. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christian Slater has signed on to star in an untitled Fox comedy pilot from Adam Goldberg about a team that cracks security systems. Slater will produced and play “the charismatic renegade who runs the Titan Team, a gruff ex-military misanthrope with a checkered past.” If it goes to series, it would be his third in three years after the short-lived My Own Worst Enemy and the faltering The Forgotten. The difference, of course, is that this latest one’s a comedy. I have to say, I much prefer my Slater light — witness his turns in My Name Is Earl, The Office, and Curb Your Enthusiasm — so I’ll be more likely to give this one a whirl than either Forgotten or Enemy. What say you: Is this a good move for him? Do you like your Slater serious or seriously funny?
