Anthony’s dress was the only one I’d want to own.

The judges ENRAGED ME last night!!! If I were Jonathan, I would have jumped over and bitten Kors’ head off like a lion would a wounded emu! He showed AMAZING restraint.
Jonathan’s print was sweet, subtle, and looked artistic and expensive. The jacket was too much, but the dress was MORE than fine. The judges went gaga over Seth Aaron’s and “E SOSA’s” hideous, cheap, ugly, uncreative graffiti B.S.??? Girl, hold my gold, its time to SCRAP!
Anthony’s dress wasn’t amazing, but Mila should have gone home, no doubt — it was an abomination on every level.

      Your diatribe cracked me up!

  • jules

I honestly couldn’t believe it when the judges were fawning over Emilio’s outfit. The print was tacky, the length of the dress was weird, it just didn’t work for me on so many levels! And Kors was WAY too witchy to Jonathan. Totally uncalled for.

    • Jane

The print was hardly original and the dress was okay hardly inspiring.

    • cf

      the top looked cheap!

    • Sookie

I couldn’t stand how visible the zipper was and that the print did not meet up well at the seams.

  • Jon K

I agree with almost everything you say, Missy. The judges’ love for Emilio’s pattern baffled me. There was no art or design to it. I just didn’t get their reaction. Seth Aron’s pattern fit into his look so much more successfully. And I, too, really loved Maya’s pattern. I think she screwed it up with all the structural hoo-ha she added on. She seemed unable to trust her own fabric.

  • Ames

Ah, the obligatory episode where the judges throw an undeserved win a designer’s way so they can justify their boneheaded decision to keep said designer in the first place. Who are they kidding with this? That jank “bathing suit” should’ve sent Emilio packing, and we all know it.

  • hen

I agree- Jonathan showed restraint and maturity with his defense of his garment. let me tell you- his and anthony’s are the only pieces i would wear from last night. Much as I love SA’s jacket, my 4″11 self could not pull that off.
Anthony was a ray of sunshine. he needs his own talk show, his own line of motivational products, his own clothing line (’cause i will wear it!) and maybe even a greeting card company.
his last line “today may be over but I stil have breath in me to improve my tomorrow”- excellent. a little wisedom to ease the pain of hsi leaving. now what we all need to do is make sure he’s fan favorite & gets that money.

  • Megan

I too was bumped that Anthony got the axe I thought Jonathan would get it for if only because he mouthed off the Micheal Kors. But I too liked Jonathans print and was happy that he stood up for it. I also agree that Kors’ remake and everyones laughter was very mean. I can’t stand Emilio, I would have loved to see Maya win for once and SA’s was good to. Jay’s was alright and Mila’s was lame! Great recap.

Also Jonathan’s jacket did nothing for the dress…but the dress itself was pretty. But what do we know we’re just viewers lol

I agree Jonathan’s dress was pretty as was the print but he does not know how to edit. The print and the dress would have been sufficient. Then he goes and dumps Cherri after she stood up for him, which tells me the guy has zero class (like Emilio re Holly), so I don’t care what happens to him.

  • dcmom

I agree with you, too, Missy! I thought the ‘logo’ print Emilio created was kind of passe–I did like his outfit but was really surprised the judges were so over the top about it. Also loved Jonathan’s print, though not his look.

  • Ames

And it’s pretty clear at this point that Mila can do only. One. Thing. And if you ask me, she doesn’t do it all that well. A good designer makes well-designed clothes – even if they’re not your cup of tea, they’re constructed well. If it’s not something she can turn into a modish color-block, Mila’s construction skills completely fall apart. I made a drawstring laundry bag in 7th grade home ec with fabric that looked JUST LIKE Mila’s. And I’ll tell ya – her model would’ve looked better in my laundry sack.

    • R3

Thank you. That was well said. Didn’t the judges put Mila on a sort of “probation” to see if she can do anything other than black and white? Why is she still here after last night?

  • taylorschultz

Gonna miss Anthony. Maybe he’ll get hired to do Red Carpet commentary. That would be a hoot. Reading all the comments and outrage here tells me this season is so much better than last season! I’m lovin it. We’re having fun again, folks!

Hoping next week’s client is Nina. Talk about pressure!

    • kath

Funny, when they were teasing the next episode, I said, “I bet it’s Nina…”

    • R3

      Or Michael Kors!

      • D

        OMG.

    • Victoria

      I think it’s Nina too.

  • Jillian

Both Kors (designs ugliest clothes on the planet) and Nina (I’m so important I impress myself) can take a hike with their opinions. I’d love to see them replaced with humans.

    • Lin

Thanks, Jillian, I thought I was alone in my opinion about Kors. Project Runway visibility has enabled him to market ulgy, ill-fitting, cheaply-made products to consumers who think they’re getting “designer” quality. His stuff doesn’t even sell on second markdown at TJMaxx!

      • Maggie

This made me giggle! Mainly because Heidi says he’s her favorite designer. Imagine Heidi shopping at a TJ Max?!

  • hr

i am very sad…not just to see anthony go home, but at the way the judges handled jonathan’s critic…was that appropriate or even necessary? and yes, emilio should not have won…that print was just ugly…

  • Hannah

Someone referred to Emilio’s print earlier as ‘juvenile,’ and they’re right on the money. My young daughter has a purse from Justice for Girls that is exactly the same color, with messy white lettering, and hearts in between the word “JUSTICE.” There is nothing innovative or interesting about it. Seth Aron was ROBBED.

  • Mark in FL

I was bemused by a few things last night. I did like Emilio’s print & outfit but I strongly suspect Lorena is (by far) the most striking model (& judges know it) so it’s giving him an advantage. Emilio screwed over Holly so Jonathan doing the same to Cherri may help him (but I hope not). Milla’s outfit was heinous, Brandise couldn’t even walk in it & it was fofugly. Milla should have gone home. At this point, it makes no difference who wins, only who’s eliminated. It’s looking like a Seth Aaron, Emilio & Maya final 3 to me.

    • Ames

      FEE FI FOFUGLY, even. :-)

      • Mark in FL

        fofugly=flat out fcking ugly

      • Ames

Banana fanna fofugly… LOL. Okay. I’ll stop now. :-)

      • Mark in FL

No, that’s why it’s such a great, made-up word (pat on back). The extra syllable is very useful for word play.

      • catgirl

The two of you are cracking me up!

  • Ames

I can totally see Seth Aaron and Jay designing a line together – they have similar sensibilities. Henderson-Sario could be the next D&G!
