Maya or Seth Aaron should’ve won, and Mila should’ve gone home. Her work hasn’t been very good in weeks.
I didn’t love Emilio’s print (hated the colors he chose), but just thinking about all the high fashion pieces that use logo’s (i.e., Coach), I can understand why the judges felt that his print was most commercial. I mean, they discussed it right there on the episode, all of the different ways that print could be used – did you happen to miss that part? I liked the construction of Seth Aaron’s outfit, but I’d never buy his print. I was very disappointed that Anthony was booted. I thought Mila deserved to go – echoing other posts, her model couldn’t even walk in the dress. You’d think that would have been something that she would have resolved when she was doing the fittings. Project Runway often confuses and confounds me.
Jonathan’s print would have looked classy if it was done on silk or another shimmery fabric. Soft patterns and colors shouldn’t be done on flat fabric (without sheen) because the result will look dull and muddy. I liked his dress minus the complicated jacket and the pleated detail in the back. When the neckline is a soft, big bow and the bodice is in pattern, the cut then should be simple and clean. Unfortunately, the judges did not offer any constructive criticism. Maybe they didn’t know any better.
I liked Jonathan’s print too – thanks for commenting on that. But, I also really liked the final outcome of Emilio’s dress.
Emilio should not have won. Not enough creativity with the design.Mila had the worst outfit and yet Jonathan gets a cheap shot taken at him.At least he did something besides some boring stripes. There are only 2 that stand out above the rest at this point. Seth Aaron and Maya.
I loved Anthony! Can’t believe he is gone! And while he may not be a driving force of originality, at least he makes classy, pretty garments. Mila has been a one-note designer from the beginning, and her lack of variety should have carried her home last week. The judges’decision to award Emilio the win, coupled with the needlessly arrogant criticism of Jonathan, cloaked this episode in a reality TV-type tackiness. It was ridiculously unprofessional. I really think, after Emilio’s previous “swimsuit” debacle and his victory last week, he is paying his way to the top. How else could he get there?
We will all feel the loss of Anthony in the coming weeks. And why didn’t Mila’s stupid Unmanagable Unwalkable dress get her kicked off?? Designer prints aside-it was a poorly designed garment-she should have at least been in the bottom two.
Maya should have won. period.
Emilio should never have survived his hideous nuts and bolts bikini number.
Anthony screwed up this week and he knew it. He’s a good designer and has found a signature style with is drapey/foldy looks. I love Anthony and he’s graciously allowed me to follow him on Facebook where fans declare, “He needs his own show!” I agree. Some producer somewhere – heads up! This is a talent we want to see more of.
