Last week, FlashForward returned with a cinematic, emotionally and thematically rich, mythologically substantial two-hour spring premiere. Read the full post.

We will all be more satisfied if we just stop comparing FF to the best series of all time, LOST. should simply lower our expectations each week. Most TV series of this nature (X-Files, Heroes, Twin Peaks etc…)are not consistent. That said I am entertained by FF. Like V, the production vaules are top notch, premise is highly addicting and SOME of the actors, SOME of the time are FANTASTIC. The pacing and scripts need tightening, but overall one of the better NEW shows on TV. Can’t wait for V to return!
I actually think the show it getting better. Of course, that’s just my opinion, but I like it more than ever and as long as things keep improving like that have been, I’ll keep watching. I keep finding characters whom I didn’t like as much early on more and more enjoyable to watch the more I learn about them.
Wish they would just make John Cho the main character and get it over with.
storyline still holds my interest… will watch this season
Funny, I didn’t think last week’s 2-parter was all that. In fact, I found the second part the least interesting episode to date – mostly due to the forced villainy of Simon. By contrast, I loved Aaron’s arc in this episode, and felt the various plots were handily moving along – Tracy’s off and Aaron has to go find her, Jericho folks are somewhat unmasked, agents are off to Somalia, Janis is about to get impregnated, Demetri’s fiancee has stopped whining and started doing (Gabrielle is SO much better playing a strong woman than a needy one), somebody checked on the gun, and someone is finally going to ask the daughter what she meant about D. Gibbons – huzzah!
This show could be good but the acting and writing are so dreadful. The part where Mark was interrogating Lloyd about D. Gibbons. Lloyd is like “I don’t know who that is, I don’t know D Gibbons. Then Mark says “you said in your flash he is a liar” and Lloyd just bursts out inexplicably “Because he is a liar!”. So unbelievable that he would accidentally let the cat out of the bag like that, without really being coerced. The writing is soooo bad.
Also, the bearded guy going to fix the electricity, threatening the head of a military company, then just going “this means war” and walking away. Why didn’t he punch the guy, or kidnap him or something. Take his daughter. What is his plan?
I am frustrated by the timeline. The GBO occurred on the date of episode 1, but now we are no longer on the same timeline (since Agent Noh is still alive). So what timeline are we on? What is the date? Because six weeks will occur between Noh’s potential death on March 15th and the April 29th flashforward date.
I’m in for the longhaul. The premise is GREATNESS! It is a fun story with great potential. I’m hopeful ABC will bring it back next season.
I have liked everything Joseph Feinnes has done as an actor up until now. The show is OK and I keep watching but I cannot tolerate Joseph Feinnes in this role. Perhaps it’s him doing an American accent? He sounds ridiculous and empty. And the whispering delivery of lines makes me mute the sound it is so annoying. I don’t know how much longer I can tolerate this show, though I really want to like it because the concept is good.
I don’t understand why the networks don’t get it???
Interrupted seasons just lose viewers. It seems that shows are on, then gone for weeks, so long in fact that the networks have to put on “refresh our memory” episodes. That is no way to hook an audience.
Great point! But since when do the networks care what we think? They say stuff like, “We only had 6 million viewers last week”. Can someone tell me what company in the whole world would not like to have 6 million people looking at their product?
I hope Flash Forward is renewed for another season. The storyline is very promising. In my opinion, ABC made a big mistake by shelving the series for so long – but now they need to give it time for the viewers to get back on board. Please don’t judge it based on Lost. Nothing will ever compare to Lost – it was unique. Flash Forward can stand on its own if given time because the writers surely know where they are taking this complicated saga.
The last issue of EW said that this fall the networks will be “primarily focusing their energy on ensemble shows about cops and lawyers because they have had trouble sustaining serialized shows.” Oh, pleeease, as if we need MORE shows about cops and lawyers! If they drop the interesting serialized programs, I will stop watching entirely. Please, networks, stop assuming that your viewers want pablum! MANY of us want something that challenges our imaginations and keeps us coming back week after week.
I’m reading the recap because I cannot remember what I watched last week. That is not good. Too much going on in too many places. I’m still watching but if I can’t remember from one time to another, I’ll just wait and read the recap of the season finale and be done with it. I just hate all these new shows that seemed promising is falling short especially after my favorite, “THE SARAH CONNER CHRONICLES” Terminator series was cancelled.
I really like this show. I watch it because it entertains me and keeps me guessing what’s going to happen next. I don’t watch it because of the sound of someone’s voice or if the timeline is perfect. It is fiction, so the timeline, etc., can be anything they want it to be. And after the ending of “Better Angels”, I am anxiously awaiting the next episode!
