'Glee': New Sue's Corner takes on 'Sneaky Gays'

sneaky-gays-gleeImage Credit: FoxThe Glee promo machine is in full swing, and we’re all for it if it means giving us more Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). After the jump, her latest Sue’s Corner, in which she speaks out about “Sneaky Gays,” men who, unlike Liberace and Oscar Wilde, are not “so flaming they can be seen from space.”

“Jagger, Bowie, you knew they were women,” she says. “But nowadays, this internationally ranked cheerleading coach just can’t figure it out.” As an example, she offers Neil Patrick Harris. She hears he’s gay, but then he plays a cardigan-wearing womanizer on TV. “And then I heard a rumor you’re not actually a doctor. So much sneaky gay deception,” she says.

“Adam Lambert, you’re on the right track but still too subtle,” she continues. She suggests he “swish it up a bit.”

“Black nail polish? Swish it up a bit. I want to see enormous fuchsia rhinestone-studded gay claws so cumbersome you can’t even perform the most basic acts of personal hygiene.” The bottom line: “Swish it up, gays. Because if I can’t tell who’s gay, how will I know who to judge?”

“Swish it up a bit” — a new catchphrase?

LOL she is funny! And she makes a very valid point along the way. Bravo!

    • Richard

“She makes a valid point along the way.”

You realize the whole thing is satire, right?

      • Allison Moore

Pretty sure that’s what the point is – how ridiculous this line of logic is

      • Katja

I assume Jill means the part where Sue talks about going to the voting booth to deny gay people their rights while enjoying the benefits of gay people’s work (like humming the music of Adam Lambert). Comedy, yes. Valid point, YES.

    • Colin

how is that a valid point lol?

    • chris

only sue would think it’s logical! LOL

    • Margie

That’s gotta be the only time I’ve seen Adam accused of being too subtle!

  • dobeek

    new fave

  • s marie

    Sue, I missed you so!

  • Chichi

My hate for Rachel Berry is subsiding – I need Glee in my life now!!!

  • lise

jane lynch was borne to play sue!!! my only thing is on the character is whats the point of focusing all your energy in trying to lways bringing down someone!!! shes obviously not confident in her own abilities , i say yes to strve to be better but not with out having to be such a bully!!!

Nerd alert! So, in the “Glee” universe, Neil Patrick Harris exists and he’s an openly gay actor who plays a womanizer on TV…

So how’s it going to work when NPH himself guest stars on “Glee” as a completely different character? Will they at least nod to the fact that whatever character NPH plays (apparently Will’s rival) looks like the real NPH? Just sayin’

    • BA

I wondered the same thing…. Maybe they’ll do something funny like in Oceans 13 when the Julia Roberts character pretended to be Julia Roberts… ?

      • Will

Julia Roberts wasn’t Oceans 13 you mean 12

      • Will

        *in

    • tvchild

lol that was actually a very funny nerd alert ^^

    • Vic

In the same vein, though: Rachel and Kurt LOVE Wicked. But how does it play out that Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth are both guest-stars on the show? I think we’re supposed to not look too much into it. (Although, yeah, it bugs my nerdy little heart, too.)

    • Dwight

I guess the same way it does for Jane Lynch, who is openly gay and plays a gay hater on tv.

      • Justin

If you notice, she’s actually not hating on gays in particular. I love that the writers very subtly made sure that her crass comments weren’t ACTUALLY attacking homosexuals.

    • Joe

This is just a promo. Just for fun. This and NPH’s guest turn will not be mentioned together. He will guest as another character and this will exist outside of the Glee world/cannon.

    • AllieBoBallie

That is an excellent, excellent point.

  • Quincy

    awesome. :)

  • Sean

Its funny, because she is a sneaky gay.

    • gigi

Exactly! Jane Lynch is the best!

    • TLH

She is not a sneaky gay, she’s obviously gay!

  • Brigitte

    This has made my day

  • elena

    And that’s how Sue…C’s it.
God I love Jane Lynch. Emmy, now?

  • Madd

Oh Glee, how I have missed you! And I am not ashamed!
“Swish it up a bit” is officially in my vocabulary. Loved the line about the equally awesome Bowie and Jagger.
I also love how NPH is going to be on Glee, and how Jane Lynch is (kind of) a “sneaky gay” herself.

    • Celimene

Oh, Jane Lynch is totally a sneaky gay. How else do you explain her role in “The 40-Year Old Virgin?” Total sneaky gay deception right there! And I love her for it.

  • Sarah El

I adore Jane Lynch beyond belief; I also love how Adam Lambert was pimping this on twitter.

    • Yoja

      Now, that’s funny.

  • Lynn

OMG, you have got to love it….I am SOOOOO looking forward to GLEE coming back on…..yeah

  • Laura W

Come back Glee Now! I’ve missed everybody!

  • DeborahB

I keep all the episodes of Glee on my DVR so I can watch them over and over. Nothing better than a slushie throwing, scene stealing, amazing group of singers on the best show evah. And how about a shout out to the Principal too!
