Siobhan runs the risk of being affected tremendously by Idol as the weeks go on….making “shocking” choices week after week just to keep her current spotlight. Might turn into a one trick pony. That, to me, is the main difference between her and Crystal. Crystal is a musician- while Siobhan is a “talent show curiosity” (I liked whoever worded it like that.)

And Didi rubs be the wrong way. She comes off as the type of gorgeous, talented girl who hasn’t been told “no” nearly enough in her life. Anyone else get a stanky vibe?

The bummer about the voting is the regional and ethnic bias that can influence impact the voting. Remember Tyler Hicks and Katherine McPhee? Wasn’t Daughtry part of that crew as well? That guy Hicks got all the southern vote and he wasn’t in the smame class as McPhee or Daughtry. That type of thing can have an impact on this season as well. Watch the redneck vote line up behind the country idol…
Actually, it’s really revisionist history to say Taylor didn’t have the performance quality (he certainly performed better on his run than, say, Carrie Underwood did); he not only had good performances, but he also had them toward the end, where it counted, and McPhee and Daughtry both slipped in the Final 5 and 4 nights. It’s easy to toss out Taylor’s name like that, but it just wasn’t representative of what that season was. Plus, Taylor was actually much, much quirkier than McPhee or Daughtry; blaming the “redneck” vote for his win is stupid.
Now, mind you, I wanted Elliott to win that season and thought he had the best overall performance quality that season. But, even though there is some truth to some demographic voting, ultimately you don’t win the show without performing in the league of your colleagues. (Well, Melinda Doolittle pwned all, but that classic tragedy had its own issues.)
I’m not over the top about Casey, but I like him, and I think he’s not going anywhere any time soon. It’s going to be weirder and weirder for Slezak to continue ignoring his existence. Seriously, did he not pay his Idolatry appearance fee or something?
I think the point is his performance didn’t leave an expression. I actually forgot what he sang. It was forgettable.

Agree mike, if anyone is a one trick pony here it’s Crystal! Siobhan is American idol, no one will watch if siobhan is off the show, no one will even notce if crystal leaves, boring zzzzzz just strums like everyone else. Siobhan owns the stage! She’s the only exciting performer this year. The rest are all snoozefests!
I would still watch if Crystal and Siobhan were gone. I’d watch to hear Lee and Casey and Didi. I was sadder to see Alex Lambert leave than I would be to see either Crystal or Siobhan leave.
Siobhan is the most versatile singer and the most exceptional performer. Move over Adam Lambert, Siobhan Magnus is only in her first week in completely erasing you in American Idol history. Girlfriend’s got it going on
Don’t believe the hype, Adam Lambert was never a versatile singer. He sang every single song either in a wimpy falsetto or that annoying, on pitch scream. Don’t be fooled.

Hey don’t get me wrong, I think Crystal is pretty awesome. I love her musical style. Really earthy, no bs. She has a wonderful voice and I would buy her music. But someone named Marta said Siobhan is a “one trick pony” or “talent show something or other” and that is just crap. I really like both of them, but Siobhan really gets the juices flowing. I think she is absolutely incredible.
Yeah Siobhan is no one trick pony. Why do the judges keep telling her she is so unique and interesting. While they are asking Crystal to play more? They know Siobhan is separating herself from the pack really fast.
Actually if Siobhan is unique and interesting why would they compare her to Adam Lambert? The comparison negates her uniqueness, does it not? I don’t get Siobhan but I get why some people like her. Crystal is more my style a musician through and through, nothing about her screams look at me but everytime she’s singing I can’t get my eyes off her.
Love Lee. He has a great voice when he can keep it in tune and he has charisma that draws me in. I really liked Siobhan’s performance this week, but Crystal’s is the one I will download on i-tunes. Great for listening to more than once.

I heard it was “Teen Idols”, but I am not sure what that means. Anybody else hear what next week’s them is?
I think that Caseys better than Lee. He’d got this gritty country rock feel to him. I am pretty sure that he will round out the top four.
Casey is definitely the one getting too little praise from the judges this year. He has this great country voice and style, but they keep wanting him to do something different.
