It’s quite fascinating to see how Lady Gaga is in a lot of ways Madonna’s and Cyndy Lauper’s demonspawn: She has Cyndi’s knack for colorful, cheerfully outrageous fashions, and like Cyndi, she can actually sing and she is a trained musician, while she has Madonna’s brazen gift for self-promotion and provocative, confrontational sexuality. The interesting is…will she have a long-lasting, iconic career like Madonna’s, or will her (commercial)star shine brightly and fizzle fast, like Cindy? (I love Cyn, by the way, I am just talking about her short-lived superstardom in the eighties)
