I know this is a joke about how predictable those montage-y scenes at the end of shows are, but… Lost, Gossip Girl, Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls, Scrubs (not a drama, but still), old Grey’s Anatomy? I love those shows. The song starts about 1 minute in:
Bring on the two-handed kissing! [via]

Oh man, that was incredible! A perfect takedown of one of my favorite television tropes (can’t lie – sometimes they still make me cry). But couldn’t the song have sounded at least a little bit like one that those shows would actually play? Too loud, too frantic, not enough piano…
It’s so predictable isn’t it? Yet everytime, it totally gets me. This is really clever.
I find the ending narrations on Desp. Houswives and Grey’s much more annoying.
This was great! Awesome song guys =)
I really just like this song because it shows clips of when Gilmore Girls was actually good (the two hand kissing part). I love how 90% was Grey’s Anatomy.
thats because every episode of Greys Anatomy ends with a cheesy formulaic song just like this one.
Everytime I see a music montage in a movie I always think of Matt and Trey’s “Team America” montage song. Now I’ll be thinking about this song during TV show montages.
this is classic.
“House” does this way too often, but I don’t understand why “Lost” is included. That show doesn’t do montages over pop songs, just the score.
Teeeeeeechnically very early in Season 1, Lost did do a few montages to non-scored music, like the episode where the characters decided whether to move to the caves or stay on the beach and the show played Willie Nelsons’ “Are You Sure” over shots of the characters sitting around looking pensive. They’ve also used “Wash Away” and “I Shall Not Walk Alone”…and then at some point Hurley’s CD player died so they couldn’t use that as an excuse to play regular songs any more.
There was that one episode with Hurley listening to the CD player when the batteries run out…
that was funny.
Love it! I’m such a montage junkie. I would probably skip the shows and just watch the montages if I could time it right.
Also includes The O.C. and One Tree Hill!
