At this rate, the unthinkable will happen, and Crystal and Siobhan will get voted off before the tour cut-off. Idol will get EXACTLY the tour/Top 10 it deserves, and I would cease to care who won!
I agree I want the mullet back too. Also I cant stand Ellen for having given that Tim Urban fool a hug. There ARE consequences for that. Now we’re stuck with Tim and gone with probably the best and most distinct male vocalist the show had this season. Ellen must’ve felt guilty about that since Alex is gonna be on her show now. Also im 100% team Bowersox and Siobhan. Hope they’re the top 2. everyone else is crap.
I know. SUCH an Idol rookie mistake. NEVER show outward interest or geniune affection for a contestant unless you are 100% positive you want them to move on to the next round.
She may have been doped up, but Paula would have never made tat mistake. She may have gotten her groove on behind that desk (but when didn’t she!?), but she would have never pulled shenanigans like that.
Even if Alex was taken back, America would simply vote him out again before the top 10. It would just be a waste of time.
I think not. If Alex were to come back, he’d be around for a long time. His unfair ousting has caused a lot of scuttlebut and rightly so.
There was hardly anyone who liked him after week 1. After week 2, people said that he improved somewhat but still lacked in the stage presence area. After week 3, everyone is just completely devastated on his being booted out.
Seriously, there was no surprise that he left. He’s a nice person (the majority are though) that didn’t have what it took to be in the spotlight. He showed that week after week after week.
Dan, with the lack of talent and great voice this season’s bunch have .. Alex is like a breath of fresh air
and don’t count on him being ousted at Top 10 ..
He’s way better than that..
.. his iTunes sales is to be rumored the highest among all the contestants this season. (even before he got booted out)
It’s because of his very very recordable voice.

I’m a little less angry after Idolatry and hearing Slezak vent pretty much my exact sam frustrations.
It is sad when out of the Top 12, we only have 2 contestants who can both sing well & be vaguely interesting.
Or perhaps 3 – Crystal, Lilly & Didi.
I agree that the only reasons I am watching this season anymore are Siobhan and Crystal.
All these kids seemed so talented back in the audition/ Hollywood episodes… they have just proven to be let downs.
How the f did you not mention Didi’s rendition of “Rhiannon”? It was fantastic! Magnus is fine but that song was not the best pic for her. I was bored to tears listening to her sing that song that has already been performed twice before this season. Over it. So over it.
Personally I didn’t like her “Rhiannon” I thought her guitar playing added little at all (prefer the original). Considering the other constestants I’m pulling for Didi for awhile she’s got talent.
Well, if America hadn’t messed up the results, he would have had two segments to talk about performances, instead of just one.

For the love of Christ! Is there anyway to have the wild-card or Top 13, brought back? Who to choose out of Lily, Katelyn or Alex would be hard…but having even one back would make life would make Idol more bearable again.
It wouldn’t be a hard choice. Katelyn deserved a spot in the top 12. Alex never really stood a chance. I was surprised with Lilly’s elimination but in a very good way. She was unique alright but was seriously one of the worst contestansts this season. The judges should have chosen Angela Martin over her.
Don’t forget that Simon thinks Paige is better than Katelyn. Excuse me while I gag.
I have to disagree. Alex was improving every week. He had raw talent that he could have honed by staying on the show longer. And, he had probably the nicest tone of anyone.
Simon only said that because he already knew the results and he wanted to be right.
What the hell? “Lily was unique alright but was seriously one of the worst contestansts this season.” Um, no dude, she was awesome and such a interesting and cool person.
Actually Paige does have a very nice singing voice, she just doesn’t choose the right songs. I liked Katelyn’s voice too, but in all fairness in the vocal department Paige is actually a better singer.
For those that keep dissing Alex’s lack of experience, AI is supposed to be about “finding new, raw talent” and Alex was that.
In the “racist” category for me is the producer that told Alex not to sing the Mario song in favor of some old white dudes song…I tell you if this show could wipe R&B from the music universe it would!!! Racist bastards!!!
No way that Paige girl has such a incredible voice, she is just a average singer, she is good, but not super-good. If she is not being minority, I think it is fair to say this, she was out this week for sure. That “Smile” was horrific. Anybody knew that. To be modest, can’t be over Lily or Katelyn. It is a joke.
Dan-Why such hatred for Alex? You have writtten so many anti-Alex posts (and don’t tell me those are other “Dans” posting them). Did he turn you down at the school dance? Bottom line is that he has a beautiful, natural voice and people took notice. He should have made the top 6 at least, (with this season’s contestants I’d dare even say the top 3), but tween texting ruined it all. This season is a bust.
I never said I hated Alex. I even called him nice in one of my posts. My posts consist of me saying that his stage presence was nowhere near any of the other contestants. I also didn’t care for his voice. There is a lot more anti-Tim posts than anti-Alex posts anyway. By the way, I am a guy who is not a tween. Obviously not many people took notice of him since he was eliminated. Yikes, you thought he should have made the top 3? I do wish him well though in the future, but it definitely was his time to go.
Dan, you seem to be obsessed with Alex’s stage presence. We’re not. We don’t care. If you had downloaded his music on iTunes, you’d understand. His recorded voice is arguably the best since Clarkson.

Bowersox is not commercial enough. Sorry I can’t see her getting past the top 6 or 7. She can sing but she won’t get the vote. Look at past winners and years.
Crystal will win due to Simon’s hard sell like Fantasia. Like Fantasia and Taylor, she will fade into obscurity and smalltime-y gigs making a decent income, therefore getting exactly the outcome she wanted.

Very odd article. Lee and Michael were better in the semis than Siobhan, so I don’t know why SHE is going to be the one to “save it.” Michael, by the way, had the clear best performance of the semifinals.
As for Tim, people keep acting as if he is somehow getting through only due to the “teen girl” vote. Of course that’s his target demo, but keep in mind, Simon’s been behind the guy for 2/3 weeks, so he’s appealing to people a lot broader than 11 year old girls. Trust me, if he has another “Apologize” caliber performance, he could be in trouble. But he’s actually been fairly good these past two weeks.
Truly a sad season, especially after the last two years being so great. I’ll watch for Siobhan, Crystal, and could there be any hope left for Andrew? Probably not. Casey will probably be consistent at least. So let’s just move on to the top 3 please.
Are they doing the judges’ save again this season? I’m a little worried, they’ll probably waste it on Big Mike or – god forbid – Katie Stevens.
I’m still really confused as to how we ended up with so much below-par talent. Even if we had gotten the best 12 from the 24…it would still be kind of miserable. It’s not like any of them are good-looking…or are particularly unique…I don’t understand why we got these people.
Come on, now… no love for Didi? She’s the most likely contestant to win at this point, at least to my eyes and ears.
