It’s been rumored about for months but Fox today finally confirmed that the Glee cast will indeed be touring live this May. How psyched are you, Gleeks?! It’s only four cities but it’s still pretty cool. My big question is how this will all be structured? Like is this going to be a live version of the TV show? And it appears that there will sadly be no Matthew Morrison or Jane Lynch. It all sort of reminds me of Sesame Street Live!—did anyone else go to that as a kid? I have very fond memories. In fact, I also went to see the touring version of American Gladiators as a wee lad. It’s a toss-up whether Big Bird or Nitro were more impressive live in person.
But back to Glee: What songs are you dying to see? The announcement mentions “Don’t Stop Believin,” “Somebody To Love,” “Jump,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and “Sweet Caroline.” Personally, I love the “Hate on Me” performance and would thoroughly enjoying witnessing that again in person. Also, they MUST do “My Life Would Suck Without You.”
Will you buy tickets to the Glee tour, PopWatchers? What would make the tour even better?

Of course! im totally gonna see it in chicago! so excited!
Since it’s not coming to Ohio (you know the state the show takes place in), nope. I have to say the general lack of love for Ohio when it comes to promotional tours makes me a little unhappy with Ryan Murphy and Co.
Having just read the other comment thread on EW.com where 99% of the comments are “they suck because they aren’t coming to my town,” I must say, I’m disappointed in Glee fans. Are we really such horrible fans? Can’t we be happy that the show is doing well, has been renewed, and is starting out with a small test tour to see if it flies? (And if we were really serious fans, wouldn’t we be doing road trips to see the concert instead of complaining?)
EXACTLY! I was so enraged with the posts whining about them not coming to their city. IT’s obviously to see if it goes over well. I could easily see it turning into a PR disaster (if there’re low ticket sales or some of the cast can’t sing as well as they appear to on TV), so 4 cities is perfect. If it goes well, which requires the support of Gleeks, then I guarantee we’ll get more cities in the future.
As for me, while I may travel for Lady Gaga or Robyn concerts, I won’t be seeing the Glee tour unless it comes to my town in the future. I wish them the best of luck though and can’t wait for season 1 pt. 2!
I totally agree. You would think that since Glee takes place in Ohio then they could have at least done a show in Columbus, Cincinnati, or Cleveland.
Since Lea Michele will be there, then I will undoubtedly purchase tickets.
Oh yeah. Maybe we can convince her to french kiss Quinn in the middle of the show!
If Matthew Morrison was doing it, it would be a no-brainer for me. Boston’s not THAT far from New York. As it is, it’s so very tempting!! Especially to hear the full versions of “Somebody to Love” and “Sweet Caroline”
if they were anywhere near Denmark, I’d buy a ticket! ;-(
I want to, but it’s not anywhere close to where I live.
If Kristin Chenoweth were gonna be there, I’d be buying tickets. As it is, I’d love to go…but money is too tight, and the cd’s will have to do.
What would make it better? Matthew Morrison.
I’m bummed they’re only doing four cities.
Yes! And I’m trying to find someone with AmEx to buy the presale tickets!
It’s pretty cool if you’re from one of those four cities, I guess. I wasn’t expecting them to come to Buffalo, but Toronto might have been nice. Oh well, at least the show’s coming back soon.
of course i will go see it! what kind of question is that? and i did see Sesame Street Live – it was the highlight of my 5 yr old life. AND i went to a taping of the newer American Gladiators, so i’m all over the TV on stage stuff – BRING IT! CAN’T WAIT!
When do tickets go on sale? I can’t find anything on ticketmaster, etc.
Really? It’s not coming to Atlanta? No South-East love from the Glee tour?? WHY????
Because they don’t have a year for the tour like bands do — they have to start filming new episodes.
I’m very upset and kinda confused as to why they aren’t coming to Ohio. I mean, the show is SET IN OHIO. Cleveland and/or Columbus are always stops on major tours, why would a show set in the state not go there?! Unless of course, there is still going to be the rumored summer tour…They have said for a long time it’d be in the summer, and this is still being labeled as the spring tour. I’m very disappointing that they aren’t going more places- they completely skipped all but one big city in the Midwest, and totally missed the Southwest area.
When a band tours, they often take a whole year to do it. The Glee tour has less than two weeks…and every time they move to a new city, it’s hugely expensive, and very draining on the performers. So they’re presumably doing this as a small test run, to see if there’s an audience out there that wants this. It’s not a conspiracy against you, honest.
I’m sorry that’s just the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. The show is SET in Ohio, that doesn’t mean it’s filmed there. Cripes!! They have a very limited amount of time to do this and they want to get the largest audiences possible. Let’s see….New York City with like a billion people and a major following of musicals or….Ohio. It’s a no brainer so stop whining and get over yourselves!
I can’t waite
It’s not like it’s even filmed there! Relax… I live next to Philly and it’s kind of a major city and they aren’t stopping here.. It’s a TV show not a band, settle down. I am gonna catch a train up to NYC though.
