Matt LeBlanc’s upcoming Showtime satire Episodes looks funny, but I don’t know that I was ready for him to be a silver fox. A grey-haired Friend? This makes me the world’s oldest human. I’m roughly as old as Mr. Burns, or the grandparents that aren’t Grandpa Joe from Willy Wonka. I’m Grandmother Willow from Pocahontas. I’m Alan Shemper in Wet Hot American Summer. I am so old.
Maybe it’s because I still watch Friends in syndication now and then, or maybe it’s because Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and especially Jennifer Aniston seem not to have aged at all. Old Joey?! How can this be?
This is my daily memento mori, PopWatchers. What do you think of LeBlanc’s grey ‘do? Can he compete with the likes of Anderson Cooper or George Clooney?

Umm, Aniston and Cox have definitely aged, but because of the amount of Botox in their faces, they look plastic. Kudrow certainly looks her age, which is beautiful!

Margaret, Margaret, Margaret, he is not OLD, he is NATURAL. Why should he spend the rest of his life dyine his hair jet black to look like Joey Tribbiani? Face it, men either go grey or bald by 40. So I would rather see the natural grey of sexy Matt Leblanc, than the heinous array of dye jobs, wigs, plugs and toupees that many many many many Hollywood actors wear.
Going gray or bald by 40 are not the only two natural options. I am 45y.o. male with reddish brown hair – still have full head of hair and still reddish brown. I have only a tiny few strands of gray starting to come in on the sides.
Am I the only one who thinks he looks better grey? I also think Brad Pitt is far hotter since his beard went grey. These are what I call DILFs. I’d hit it in a nanosecond.

I think the grey looks great on him…and I’m glad he’s not hiding from it! I am so tired of everybody endlessly fighting the things that should happen naturally and normally as we age.
I love his look…Especially with that coat – kinda rugged and hot if you ask me…

He is over 40, so therefore it is fine for him to be gray (at least that is what I tell myself!). I think it suits him
Maybe he’s just one of the unlucky ones who go gray early (and was just dyeing it for a while). I got the unlucky genetic shuffle in my family too (some stay dark until their 70s and 80s, others go white by 30). I was 27 when it started to go. But somehow, on men it’s foxy and distinguished. On us women….old and dowdy. Sigh….
But, yes, I think he looks better like this too. Very hot.
I agree, and it’s absolutely not fair that when gray happens, men are “distinguished” and it “adds character”, while on women they just look old.
My girlfriend actually gets mad at me about this very subject, like it’s MY fault.
umm… I thought it was pretty well known that he has been grey since long before Friends. He always dyed it before. Who cares if he’s grey? You sound like an idiot. Guys sometimes start going grey in their teens (like a friend of mine).

I think he needed the change to distance himself from the Joey role which is tainted after the disastrous spinoff series. Smart move, I think.
If we are starting a campaign to have guys let their hair naturally grey–and I am all for it, I sort of prefer grey on guys–can we start with Bob Costas? I swear every day of the Olympic coverage his hair gets scarier. Didn’t he used to be blonde?

Yeah, Costas can’t pull off the eternal teenager look that Dick Clark could for all those years before his stroke.
Totally agree with you about Costas. He’s a strange shade of red now. He used to be brown.
