As you’re making your plans to purchase The Twilight Saga: New Moon on DVD or Blu-ray, keep this in mind: Walmart’s Ultimate Fan Edition will be the only one to carry a seven-minute sneak peek of Eclipse. According to a press release hitting the wires Thursday, new interviews with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Stephenie Meyer are integrated into the behind-the-scenes and on-set footage — which concludes with the world premiere of a scene from Eclipse, in theaters June 30. This exclusive look is in addition to 50 minutes of extra footage and interviews about New Moon, also available on the standard Special Edition. You can pre-order the Ultimate Fan Edition starting tomorrow.
Walmart will go all-out for the March 20 DVD release. Midnight events are planned in more than 2,600 24-hour stores, while 3,500 stores will feature special “Twilight Saga Shops” — designed for both the “fan-pire” and ”wolf-lover” — from mid-March to mid-April. Think $5 jewelry, $7 tanks, and $9 tees, as well as dolls, board and DVD games, and viewing party snacks.
The first Twilight film reigns as the most pre-ordered film in Walmart’s history. Will you pre-order New Moon, or trust that every retailer will anticipate the run and stock accordingly?

I look forward to it. Eclipse is my favorite book, but I don’t have high hopes for it being an awesome movie, just looking at the promotional images they’ve released thus far.
I’m actually excited for the Eclipse move. Like you, it’s my favorite book. It shows in New Moon that the actors were able to grow up a little and I do think they lived up to the hype. Plus, it’s a whole other director, so it’ll be interesting to see his take, especially another MALE director.
The tent scene alone is going to make the movie worthwhile…at least, I hope!

Anyone who has read Eclipse’s beyond horrid script knows that this movie will not be good. Why won’t they change the screenwriter? Does she have state secrets or something. She’s so bad.

Emma, I completely agree. I haven’t seen the Eclipse script, but the screenplay in the last two movies were cringeworthy. They definately should not have stuck with whoever wrote it after the first one.

Agreed, Emma. If they keep the final script roughly the some as the one that leaked, it’s going to be terrible. Terrible dialogue and bad action scenes. And the new photos look horribly saturated and washed out, and Howard looks terrible as Victoria.
And anyone looking for the script now is SOL. The site hosting it (at least where I got it) yanked it. And I am talking about the “totally accidentally leaked but probably intentionally leaked for publicity” script with Jackson Rathbone’s watermark.
agreed. I haven’t been to Walmart since 2002. Even if Harry Potter was being sold with extras only at Walmart I wouldn’t go – because it would show up eventually everywhere else.

It’s annoying that there are so many versions of the DVD. Borders has their own edition, so does Target. That means you either have to buy all of them, or figure out which one is most worth it. Most fans are going to buy more than one just for the exclusives. They’re just trying to rip off “Twilight” fans.
I agree and it really bugs me. It’s not like the Summit and Stephenie Meyer don’t have enough money already.
But they’re giving most of it to the Mormon “Church”, which is why they try to scam every last dollar out of fans.
Too true, Kalie. On the one hand it sucks. On the other hand, they do it because the craziest Twilight fans will spend the money and they know it. So in a way it’s your own damn fault.
Just buy ONE and youll see all of it up on youtube before you know it… :- )

If you time it just right you’ll probably find it posted onto youtube for at least a day. Save 10 bucks if the only reason you’re buying the dvd is for the sneak peek (which is why I’d buy it)
I am looking forward to Eclipse movie. It will be someone else veiw point of the book. It is my favorite book, of the series. I do love all of them. So bring it on, very excited for it to begin. Cant wait for them to start filming Breaking Dawn, the two movies of it and maybe if she is willing; PLEASE STEPHANIE MYERS, FINISH MIDNIGHT SUN!!!

It is pathetic that there are so many versions of this movie that will be out there…Summit is risking losing fans of the series with this kind of marketing…no one should have to research a dvd before it comes out because there are all these different versions with “extras”. Like a previous poster said, this is still not enough to make me shop at Wal-Mart.
I just wish that they would hurry up on Breaking Dawn! And I’ll go crazy if they do break it up into 2 parts! It’s hard enough waiting for Eclipse to be released. There are only so many million times you can read the books…
