'Celebrity Fit Club' is on my Must List. Please don't throw things at me.

There is a lot of quality entertainment out there right now: American Idol welcomed Ellen this week, Lost is dominating, and Modern Family is a total laugh-fest. But you know what? Say what you will, I’m putting Celebrity Fit Club on my Must List this week. If you’re going to throw things at me, put down the cream pies and throw vegetables instead, please – it is a weight loss show, after all.

My overwhelming guilt aside, hear me out. I stopped watching Fit Club during the fifth season because I couldn’t stand Dustin Diamond. He also ruined Season 6. This year, Project Runway alum Jay McCarroll and the thought of Kevin Federline and his ex Shar Jackson on the same show drew me back in. After watching Monday night’s premiere episode, I was not disappointed.

The weight loss numbers in each episode aren’t like those on the Biggest Loser, but I appreciate the realistic goals Harvey and Dr. Ian set for the Fit Clubbers. They have eight weeks to lose weight, and in the normal world, people aren’t going to shed two toddlers worth of weight every week. Plus, the show’s appeal is much more than watching people lose weight loss; it’s about watching entertainerslose weight. Debates about the scope of the talent aside, all of these people have the spoiled, lazy entertainer persona. The product is pithy lines and slap-your-forehead comments, like this one from K-Fed: ”I look over, and I see medics over by Shar. I didn’t know what had happened. I figured she’d be alright.” Way to be pro-active, K-Fed.

Don’t let me stand in disgrace alone. This is the site that brought you the Guilty Pleasures Reality TV Showdown. We stand together in shame! Raise your glasses if Fit Club is on your Must List! … No one? Fine. But tell me, are you watching anything this week you’d like to ‘fess up about? What other TV show/movie/music is on your Must List this week? Sound off below!

    *raises glass*

I gotta add Barry Bostwick on Cougar Town tonight – great casting choice.

Massive Attack’s new album Heligoland. The kings of trip-hop are back after a 7 year absence.

  • Luann

*raises hand* – I’m with you Sandra. I haven’t seen the whole episode yet but between B. Brown’s double chicken and beer dinner and the inevitable Shar/Kevin showdown, this might be the best Celebrity Fit Club yet!

RuPaul’s Drag Race tops my list. Any show that gives someone the opportunity to say, “There’s nothing dirty about that Sanchez,” (that was RuPaul’s critique of contestant Tyra Sanchez in the premiere episode) is worth checking out.

I watched Celebrity Fit Club and I think that it’s going to be an interesting season! Especially with KFed, Shar, Bobby Brown, and Tenisha from the Bad Girls club! Her and Harvey are going to have words!

Ok, I will say I saw the first episode and I am intrigued. Not sure if it hooked me yet though. I will admit that I am absolutely hooked on this season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, RuPaul’s drag race and Frank the Entertainer in the Basement (now there is a real admittance..shouldn’t have put that out there…just a little too much reveal). I seem to love that kind of tv that should embarrass you.

My 13 year old put it best. This show is going to be hilarious. (Yes, anyone outside of a sitcom who uses the word ‘hilarious’ watches too much TV.)

Note to K-Fed: Shar Jackson is your first baby momma, and I believe is raising two of your spawn. Therefore, it might look a little better if you actually show concern WHEN THE PARAMEDICS ARE ACTUALLY WITH THE WOMAN, not later when a camera operator asks you a question! I realize she does not have as much money as Britney, but you must have had some sort of feelings toward her at some point. Why not pretend that you care now?

  • Karen

Oh, and in answer to the question at hand. I am loving Celebrity Rehab as seeing Mackenzie Phillips as a human being again and seeing that very oddly entertaining former Miss Teen USA together on the same program along with Heidi Fliess, is far too good to resist! I also think I am going to love watching Celebrity Fit Camp for the same reason as everyone else, to see K-Fed get his come uppance from Shar Jackson (who I believe was preggers with their second child when K-Fed decided he liked Britney better, and to see Bobby Brown get some what for as well.

However, I have to admit I am done with the OC Housewives, and can never seem to catch a new episode of Project Runway, so I am stuck with Law & Order repeats to pass the time! Oh, well. Life goes on!

  • Brandi

I will watch anything Sebastian Bach is on. K-Fed is just a bonus this time ;)
