RIP Captain Phil. I feel like I lost a friend. Thats the way you made many of us feel. Prayers for Josh, Jake, Mary & Grant. Your time here was short, but what a life! Your boys had a good role model.

I did not have the luck of meeting Captain Phil but I loved watching him on TV. I wish he was still here and his death is so sad. My heart goes out to Josh and Jake. I hope his boys take over the Cornelia Marie. I’m sure thats what he would want. RIP captain Phil!

I loved watching Deadliest Catch. I really cared about those who put their lives in danger to earn a living. Phil was this strong, gruff, but loveable person that was real. No B.S. just the truth. Watching the last episode where he passed and the memorial service he was given, really showed the love for someone who did nothing for us but come into our living rooms at night and live a true life. I hope that the other capitains help Josh & Jake fulfill something of a legacy left for them by someone who loved them so much. God Bless Captain Phil and his family and may they celebrate his life and not his death. Want to bet he is up there smiling down with every ray of sunshine?! Safe harbor Phil.

I never got to know my dad. It never really mattered to me that much. After watching the deadliest catch, and getting to know Captain Phil, he was to me from what i saw, one of the greatest dads you could ever hope for,and i know now what ive been missing. I know he will me missed,he was a great father and human being. RIP Captain you will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences goes out to the friends and family. He may be gone, but i know his spirit will live on through us all.
