Was one of the temple guards the Other from Season 3 who kept trying to kill Sawyer and who was eventually killed by Juliet???
Thank you! I thought I saw that, too. I think it was Tom, the one whose wife Sun shot on the boat. It couldn’t have been him but he looked A LOT like him.
Not Tom, I think you mean Pickett.
I wish they’d bring back Tom in the other timeline at least! I miss ol’ Mr Friendly.
alex – i was hoping the mechanic kate ran to wouldve been mr. friendly
Tom/Mr. Friendly is the same person as Pickett.
Juliet killed Pickett. Sawyer killed Tom/Mr. Friendly in Season 3 finale. Different people.
But remember that the ashes around Jacob’s cabin were disturbed, thereby allowing MIB-claimed Christian and Claire to enter (?).
After Sawyer’s moving scene with Juliet’s engagement ring, I will be super upset if he and Kate every get together. It’s just not right.
I feel the exact same way.
That’s what I’ve been saying since I heard Damon and Carlton say the triangle was important this season. Seriously, if they expect us to swallow Sawyer and Kate after this…I have no words for them. S/K get anywhere near the romantic line again and I’ll smahs the television.
smash*
I agree. I don’t care who Kate winds up with as long as it’s not Sawyer.
Aldo wins at life if only because it was ‘Mac’ from its always sunny in Philadelphia!
word of advice: stick to the shows you create
I thought Aldo and Justin were the Others versions of Miles and Hurley. Justin kept almost-spilling info, to be scolded by Aldo.
is this why bodies are always buried… so they can’t be “claimed?” Amy insisted on burying Phil, etc.
hmmm…interesting thought…
no evil claire! that just doesn’t sit well with me. i want sweet claire..maybe charlie will appear with a jar of peanut butter to make everything better?
and who else was freaked out by ethan helping out claire in the hospital!?
Dr. Ethan! LOL! That was really weird and completely unexpected.
Hahahha.. I love Lost humor.
i love that he was like ” i don’t want to stick you with needles” when in islandville thats exactly what he wanted to do!
I think the importance of this weeks flashsideways was to show that everything is fated. Ethan was meant to be Claire’s doctor and poke needles in her and Kate was meant to be there when Claire delivered Aaron. I also loved Josh Holloway’s performance…utterly heartbreaking. Crazy Claire at the end was a little predictable, but still an omg moment! Can’t wait to hear what happened to her!
I totally agree with you that no matter what all the relationships were meant to be, albeit in different forms. Kind of like with Desmond telling Charlie that he was supposed to die, he might have postponed the inevitable, but in the end he died.
I love LOST as much as the next person. However, you cannot make me believe that a pregnant woman held a gunpoint and had all her belongings stolen would not find the nearest cop and try and put Kate under the jail. No pregnancy hormones would ever induce said woman to happily hop back in a car with her, even if she did return her belongings.
yeah i feel the same. this show can make me belive ANYTHING (moving islands, skipping through time like a record, etc etc) but the claire/kate interactions felt really forced and not believeable at all.
i believed it!
I believed it too! I think the point of the sideways “flash” is to show us that these people are connected, so I’m just going with the flow of where the story wants to take me. So many unrealistic things have happened…either you buy into it or you don’t.
I believed it too. Claire was really worried that the adoptive parents had changed their minds since they didn’t show up at the airport, so she didn’t want to go alone. I think she could tell that Kate wasn’t a bad person, so she let Kate take her. And then at the hospital, would she really turn in the woman who selflessly brought her to the hospital as she was going into labor? Like I said, I think Claire could tell that Kate was a good person that was just caught up in a bad situation.
The people complaining about it seem to just be the nitpicky people who hate Kate and every storyline she has, so they must tear it apart. I don’t understand why so many people hate Kate.
Perhaps Claire remembers Kate from the Island (crash timeline). Just like Kate seemed to remember Jack, and Jack remembered Desmond.
i don’t hate kate, but she does annoy me. but not as much as it annoys me that evangeline lilly has a sweet job making tons of cash yet basically talks as if she hates it (ok. maybe hate is extreme. but fine, acting is not your thing. don’t rub it in to those of us whose thing it is but haven’t been able to be successful at it and still have crap ass jobs that don’t pay well and aren’t in an island paradise. i don’t begrudge her being over it, just sick of hearing it- again and again. you’re beautiful, rich and famous. i’m not feeling sorry for you.
Not only is Claire pregnant, she had been on an hours-long flight from Australia and is in a city she doesn’t know. Look at how readily Claire asks Kate to come with her to the front door. She needs a protector. Also, there was a different quality to Kate when she shows up at the bus stop. What about the stuffed dolphin? Doesn’t it seem to give Kate pause/
Oops, stuffed whale.
I love the fact that even in this Sideways world were they are not stuck on an island together, they still manage to run into each other.
Do you all remember when the blonde haired woman popped up in one of the first seasons – in the episode where we Walt’s Mom died and Michael came to get Walt in Australia – was the blonde haired woman Claire???? What does it mean??!!!
I remember that. I just went to Hulu…the episode you’re referring to is ‘Special’ Season 1 Episode 14. If you pause the frame at 27.21 minutes in, on the far right side of the picture, you see a blonde woman in a white shirt (looks like the woman has bangs). it also looks like a blackbird in a bird cage is right next to the blonde woman. A blackbird can symbolize death, so maybe goes with Walt’s Mom dying right there. Don’t know who the blonde woman is, if it’s Claire. This is also the episode where Claire is first taken by the Others. Maybe something to do with Claire becoming/being ‘special’ as well as Walt?
Doc, sure there was some cheese and not-so-great stuff (the Aldo and Justin peeps), but I feel that the good stuff REALLY outweighed the bad. I enjoyed this episode far more than the premier last week. Which I was certainly intrigued last week, but I was INVESTED this week. Sawyer broke my heart… again. Loving the off-island Claire/Kate business. SO intrigued by “claimed” Claire (!!!).
I guess being threatened with a gun happens all the time in L.A. and the good people there will even help you out even after you tell them you are wanted for murder.
Claire was in a weak, vulnerable, even pathetic state. She had no one else and perhaps she felt a connection to Kate – a fleeting thought – similar to the look Kate gave to Jack as he was walking close to their cab.
I also think as Wendy indicated a page or so back, Kate asked the mechanic where she could ‘go to change’ and she did change literally and figuratively in that room…from a hardened criminal to a protective guardian of Aaron and his mother.
kate obviously knew la well enough to navigate it and probably knew that mechanic and/or neighborhood was suitable skeevy enuf to risk. i doubt she would’ve asked a mechanic in beverly hills or even brentwood to unshackle her.
I’m very thankful for lost and will be sad to see it go. Although every episode is not great, the show as a whole really makes you think and keeps the mind going. This can’t be said for alot of the crap out there.
I believe that Claire “trusting” Kate in the sideways story is consistent given the fact that the sideways characters seems to have some deep seated knowledge of their “past” connections from the island. Thus Jack sensing that he knew Desmond, Kate sensing she had seen the stuffed whale before (when Aaron was “hers”), and Claire sensing that she should name her baby Aaron. Kate helped Claire deliver Aaron on the island, thus she felt an innate trust with Kate in the sideways story. I think while the sideways characters are different, they DO have a vague subconsious memory of what happened on the island.
I just posted a very similar thought Brody, just above…I agree completely. It makes sense in context even though it seemed irrational at the time for Claire to instinctively trust the woman who just held her at gunpoint.
