I am absolutely floored that Ali left. I picked her from the very beginning. And I think Jake was totally enamored with her. He should have just proposed to her right then and there!
Ali was crazy to leave! I have a feeling that she’s a bit of a commitment-phobe / probably really left because she was afraid of losing and lost respect for Jake because Vienna was still around. I kind of like Vienna… I think she’s kind of immature, but so is Ali.
I am very upset that Ali left the show…Jake and Ali seemed PERFECT for each other…their relationship was just so natural and they seemed very in love…they just seem to fit!
I just don’t understand why Ali left given her strong feelings for Jake. Yes, it’s hard to stay knowing that Jake can’t guarantee that she will be the last one standing – but isn’t it enough for him to say I DON’T WANT YOU TO GO and I WILL BE DEVASTATED IF YOU LEAVE? What if she walked away from the love of her life?
It just didn’t make sense for her to leave knowing what she was potentially losing. She could have always found another job, but not necessarily this opportunity…
Chris, I love your blog! I just had a question about all the rumors floating around online/in US Weekly about the history of the past contestants…especially about Vienna’s past…do you do any kind of background checks on contestants who apply for the show?? Also, is there any chance Ali will come back?! (I am hoping so after the clip in the preview for next week’s show where she calls Jake!)
If those 2 really “love” each other (which I strongly doubt), they can hook up later–geez, it’s not like one of them is dying. All those hilarious crocodile tears on both sides–Cringe-worthy, indeed.

“Career woman?” I don’t think anyone’s used that term since the 60′s. And you’re using it in a derogatory way? Most women work, you know.
Dude…that was a long time ago lol…I think they stopped taking the show in like OCt or Nov..how do you know she didn’t get that job back in the beginning of 09? You make no sense…
Pretty interesting actually! Definitely shows it takes an “interesting” type to go on one of these shows.
The show was hilarious tonight ! I’ve never seen such corny bad acting on any one show. I noticed even you had a hard time keeping a straight face tonight. LOL
BTW, What happened to the writers? That script has been used once.
I don’t know where Christine lives but here in Calif jobs are’nt that easy to find. Quitting a job to be on a realty show doesn’t look good on a resume’. I have 3 out of 5 members of one family out of work because of the economy.
It didn’t bother me to see her cry but rubbing her eyes and face did. I think she was waiting for Jake to make a stronger stand on asking her to stay. Some hint that she was the one. That is why she cried so much and kept staying there. That is what she was waiting for. He didn’t and couldn’t say that. It gave her no choice. I still like her better than Vienna. I read an article about her past.
No doubt. With unemployement as high as 15% in some areas, quitting your job doesn’t sound like the best of ideas, especially when it’s on a chance that something might happen.

Ur a great host, Chris but here’s what I think BASED on the show’s edits…
Gia – why not show her parents’ pad in NYC? Just bit too shady for me. She sounded insecure too but I hope she opens up more and I am not even sure if she’s on the same level with Jake.
Ali – well, her leaving the show just resembles Ed’s depature from the last Bachelorette show and then all of sudden, we see that she calls Jake while they’re all on St. Lucia island. Although I’d like to believe that it is 100% reality show but you got me hooked on it!
Tenley – she’s my 1st choice simply because she’s such a sweetheart and vulernable but I’m worried that Jake may not pick her at the end due to her previous martial problems and it’s may seem too early for Jake to ask her to marry her. Let’s see.
Vienna – no comments expect that she’s Daddy girl and he creeps me out. I don’t see her being with Jake unless he’s blind or simply that opposites attract.
All in all, I’d go with Tenely or Gia. Ali is alright but I hope he doesn’t pick Vienna in end!
I’m so glad that someone else recognized the “Ed” plot. Ali’s leaving for her job is exactly what happened with Ed. And as for Vienna, she is the “country western singer dude” from last season-the person no one can figure out why they are still around. My question to Chris is, do you force the Bachelor to keep one creepy person for drama’s sake? And please get a new “dramatic moment” besides leaving for a job. By the way, I would definately leave for a job in hand but would not have started the gig without the blessing to be gone the entire time.
I think leaving the shows how smart Ali is.. for leaving the show. Looked at all these past bachelors falling out of love and out of jobs. Ali is too good for Jake and if this love story is true then they will end up together…with Jake begging for Ali to come back. But I think Jake really want to bang these girls first just like other bachelors on the final romantic dates on the island….
Yes, Ali should be the next bachlorette. Not because I like her. She is whiny and acts like an immature high school girl but it would make a great high drama season!
It is obvious that Ali has some kind of a personality disorder. She’s slipped in and out of different characters as the weeks have progressed. She got my attention with her “sweet, innocent prom queen” at the beginning of the show. Then she slipped into a “bully” which she was unable to let go of. On her SF date she was a child, then a seductress, then pouty and accusing, then resigned and exhausted all within a few hours. I don’t have enough energy to describe the characters she played on the hometown date or during her big scene on the afernoon before the Rose Ceremony. I’m sure the network loved her playing to the camera as she dramatically collapsed onto the floor of the hotel corridor – and stayed, and stayed, and stayed there. Has she been watching old Marilyn Monroe movies or is she in serious need of therapy? She then went on to her grande finale at the Rose Ceremony and in the limo which is too tedious to recap – and anyway you’ve all seen it. The network loved it! Over the top box office stuff. I felt sick watching it. I was very pleased however, that Jake didn’t completely swallow the hook.
Geez, get back on your meds, stat! You’re putting WAAAAY to much thought into this lame show.
I used to like Ali and I can tell Jake likes Ali alot but I think she’s two-faced. I hated the way she treated Vienna and all her comments to get everyone to dislike Vienna. I think she was smart to pick her job and leave. Gia is a sweetheart, Vienna is too but I don’t see Jake with either of them. He and Tenley have very similar values, seriousness, and life decisions in common, plus he really fit with her family the best. Jake tries to act light-hearted but I don’t think he really is. He’s a very serious, commited type of guy and Tenley really seems like she’d fit with him. Plus she’d bring some joy into his life with her art (dance) as well as laughter–which he needs. My vote is for Tenley. DON’T let Ali come back–I think she was just in it to win it and not really sincere.
umm two faced is when you act like you like someone and then talk bad about them behind their backs…she wasn’t two faced at all lol Not really sure what show you were watching
Chris this is the best Bachelor episode! This is the first time I watch the Bachelor. I got hooked on it just to see when Ali was going to be out! Im happy. Please tell jake to slam the telephone in her face. That would be perfect! The reason is: ANNOYING WHEN SHE TALKS/FAKE/BITCHY!
I thought she was hot.
