What’s up with EW’s general dislike towards Renee? She’s showing some great acting chops and while there are hits and misses with her storyline, you must admit that Jack has been a non-existent presence during the season (other than the pilot) and shallows in comparison.

Bravo to Katee Sackhoff? It’s not only that her plot is lame, but her overacting is grating. It seems she thrives in certain roles like “strong crazy woman”, but she lacks versatility. After this, I hope she doesn’t appear in any of the shows I watch for a long time.

overacting? give me a break! what would you know?! her acting is fine. It’s the acting of the other two losers that needs work.

  • Cat34

Last season Renee slaped Jack and now she stabs him !! OMG it’s love ;-)
I love Renee but for the moment too much Renee and not enough Jack !

Jack’s on the way out. This is Renee’s show now. And if you don’t like it, get the heck out. lol

It is the same old story when a woman on 24 goes undercover to expose an ex/boyfriend/rapist they always go ballistic and end up killing the guy and ruining the cover/mission. Come up with something new, please!

I am ashamed to admit it, but I was totally on the edge of my seat with Dana/Kevin/Nick buffoonery! Guess I am easily manipulated!

I’m not one to bash a writer, but I’m not sure if Lynette is a true 24 fan. I just don’t feel like she gets it. I would agree that this season has had a slow start, but are you seriously more interested in Dana than Renee??

  • thatsthefactjack

Kevin and special needs friend – they could use a good stabbin’.

For those who aren’t impressed with the Dana character, it’s obvious you never saw Katee Sackoff in Battlestar Galactica. She’s a wonderful actress….it’s the storyline she’s been given that’s awful. I’m hoping they give her more to do than this. As far as the “Dark Renee” storyline, I think that’s about run its course. In real life, she would now be sent somewhere for some serious therapy. I certainly hope they’re not trying for a romance with these two. I agree with Elizabeth…romance doesn’t suit Jack. As I’ve said in an earlier post, the only woman who really had chemistry and was a good fit for Jack was Nina….but she turned out to be very bad and is dead. If this is the last season, have Jack head to LA and enjoy his family/grandchild. A man like that just feels like he should end up alone. Sorry all you romantics out there who think there’s a partner for everyone.

Renee is the ruin of this show. The writers are forcing her on us like she’s the female Jack Bauer. She cannot be saved this season. They are writing 24 like it’s a soap opera. 24 does not need a romance. Any romance for Jack should be the end of the series and it should be with a cured Audrey. There is not place to take Renee this year only to a mental ward! She is ruining this season for me along with Dana. We want more Jack and less Renee!

  • Shkeeg

I cannot take Renee another second. Any romance with them will be the end of 24. He knows her 2 days and now sees what a nut she has become. He had a long relationship with audrey who is not well because she went to save him. We’re to believe he’d fall for this mental case and forget audrey or Audrey would get well and forget him. The writers like Renee which is fine, but they’ve ruined her. She cannot be fixed in 24 hours. She needs long term mental help and I hope that is without Jack. 24 does not need romance but I agree, if this is the last season, Jack needs to go off and be happy with a cured Audrey. Please less of Renee!

Who cares about Renee’s acting. Give her a show then. This is 24 and it’s about Jack Bauer not that nut. She is ruining 24 for me. If there is a romance with Jack and her it will be a soap opera and that is not what 24 is about. The writers are losing sight of that. Get rid of her. If Renee is in the movie as Jack’s romantic sidekick, count me out!!! 24 is not Get Smart. We do not need a romantic secret agent team. Jack does fine on his own and I agree, if there is any romance, Jack needs to have a cured Audrey at the end. To think he would forget her and fall for Lizzie Borden is a joke!!! He knows Renee 2 days. Helllo writers are you awake. Stop the soap opera writing and dialogue, “you’ve got me.” I nearly threw up. 24 is an action show not a soap opera. Leave the romance out. Audrey went to China to save Jack. He’d never forget that. They are changing his true character this year and I hate it!! I hope before they film the last few episodes the writers wake up. Hopefully, they’ll read your column. All my 24 addict friends feel the same way. No more Renee!!!

As an audience member I was so happy to read this review. It’s not just ME!

EW is such a great entertainment mag. I often go to or not go to a film based on your reviews.

  • Farrell

I think this has been one of the better seasons as of lte. More Jack, less White House, which means more action. I willadmit the Kevin/Dana storyline is a waste, but now that we know she is a mole, the sooner they get her the better. As for Rene, just constant pms-ing, which is a bad thing for the bad guys, and a good thing for CTU. Sorry to see it leave at the end of this season. Hope they at least turn the movie into a trilogy like Bond, or Bourne

  • oolala :D

ya renne and jack were good partners and i was sorry to see renee go. oh ya btw anyone else find the jack in the first few seasons slightly attractive? :D DD
