Jin is never going to leave the Island

He doesn’t look too thrilled about it. We, on the other hand, couldn’t be happier that Daniel Dae Kim has been cast in CBS’ remake of Hawaii Five-O. He’ll play state police officer Chin Ho Kelly alongside an yet-to-be-cast Detective Steve McGarrett. Maybe the creepy new temple people on Lost can play the people they pull over. Speaking of which…

A close inspection of the Hawaii Five-O opening credits reveals that Hawaii Five-O and Lost are practically the same show already, sharing similar themes of airplanes, fire, binoculars, creepy statues, guns, and attractive people running on the beach. In fact, Lost was probably based on Hawaii Five-O. For irrefutable proof, please see below:

And duh:

Who else should star with Daniel Dae Kim in the Hawaii Five-O remake a.k.a. Lost II?

        good one

Baywatch had the same themes too. Yes, I’m counting Hasselhoff as the creepy statue.

    • Lisa Simpson

      As you should.

They should merge this “article” paragraph with the other statement about him joining Hawaii 5-O.

Five-Oh was very successful for CBS back in the day. Instead of taking apart their production company on the islands, they went with a “new” show called Magnum, P.I., which was also very successful. It kept lots of families working. Using the same title does not make it the same show. One cannot separate Jack Lord from Five-Oh any easier than one could separate Mike Connors from Mannix. Sometimes the shows and their stars are elements in their places in history and should be left alone. These recreations, to me, seem nothing more than crass commercialism and a lack of talent (on part of the studios – not the writers – because there are many good writers trying to work today that can’t because of all the cheap to produce “reality TV crap” out there.

I’d love to see Josh Holloway and Daniel working again together and Hawaii Five-O would be great for them. But I’ve also been hearing they’re looking at my other favorite male star, Alex O’Loughlin who I think CBS has shuffled around so much it’s a crying shame. He did well as portraying a copy on The Shield so who knows.

Daniel gets Hawaii Five-O. Any chance we can get Dick Wolf to make the character Naveen Andrews just played on SVU a recurring character?

    • Vina

YES. He was the best thing to happen to SVU in a long time.

  • Wendy

Naveen Andrews and Mariska Hargitay were great together.

Jason O’Mara from Life on Mars, Dylan McDermott from The Practice or Eric McCormick from Will and Grace.

    • NotBetty

Jason O’Mara in anything, I’m there. Same for Josh Holloway, but I think he needs to make a go at the big screen.

I don’t think they should remake the show. Look at how much hair-spray they had to use to hold Jack Lord’s hair in place. I think it is responsible for the ozone hole.
