It’s no secret that we have a pretty big style crush on Emma Watson, and in addition to fashion week fixture and Burberry model, the Harry Potter actress can add designer to her resume — and we can add another level of sartorial envy to our obsession.
Watson has teamed up with British fair-trade label People Tree for an eco-friendly men’s and women’s knitwear collection, which includes tees, dresses, skirts, and shorts. Coming from the new It-girl of edgy classics (see here and here), this collaboration seems like a more sensible design initiative than, say, an actress and a line of leggings. Just sayin’.
Eighty percent of the capsule collection uses 100 percent organic cotton, and to top it off, all proceeds go to the People Tree Foundation, which directly benefits fair-trade farmers and artisans in developing countries. The first pieces from Watson’s line are hot off the press today at People Tree‘s site.
Scanning through the collection of simple pieces, I’m jonesing for the Oxford Cricket jumper (How much more British can you get than those three words?) and the Cambridge blazer. What do you guys thinks of the collection? Would you style yourself with Watson’s designs?

Hehe, loved the not-so-subtle dig at Lindsay Lohan.
Just when I thought she couldn’t get anymore classy.
Love the line. love that all proceeds go to a charitable cause. What a role model.
Love her! (And that dress!)
she absolutely needs to be a project runway guest judge!!
Too bad there’s not a store in the US! I just checked it out… very cute!
They will be available to purchase in the US though, which is awesome.
I’d fancy a Cambridge blazer, too. Emma Watson is a great role model for teens (male or female). I have always admired her class and style – and of course, her brains and sensibility.
Very classy way to do it. Like the look in general and especially like that it’s green.
I’m not terribly keen on her acting (although she improved in HP6), but you have to admit that she’s charming, gracious, classy and intelligent. I suspect she’ll have a brighter future in fashion than in film, and that’s just fine. I’d rather watch her than a few other younger actresses I could mention…
The jumper is around $150. Enjoy!
She seems such a bright, articulate, and classy young woman. I applaud her not taking money for the line. I can’t believe she’s doing that. I love quite a few items she’s designed. It’s a fun line.
I luv her!
Very cute stuff – simple and fun!
my admiration grew even more(if that’s possible
Emma Watson is one of my favorite actresses & she always looks gorgeous in anything she wears.
Awesome! I can’t wait to purchase something from the line. The clothes are simple yet chic. And it’s for such a great organization.
Emma is truly an inspiration.
The photo shoot for the new line is GORGEOUS!
She’s so classy! Love her even more. I’m really liking the Cambridge blazer.
