Notepad? Check. Pencil? Check. Dharma jumpsuit? Errr… no, I don’t wear that at all while I watch Lost! Why would you think that?! (Totally check.) The two-hour season premiere of the final season is minutes away for some, hours away for others. Will Jughead reboot time? Will Fake Locke make Ben start killing, like, everyone on The Island, not just statue-inhabiting demi-gods with weaving hobbies? The answers (hopefully) are forthcoming. Here are some ideas for your final prep. First, there’s one scene you need to see from the very first episode of Lost (the pilot; season 1); check it out here, with some interesting commentary by Lost exec producer Damon Lindelof. Second, I had a Lost conversation today with New York Magazine’s Emily Nussbaum, in which we discuss loving Lost -- and being occasionally frustrated by it. You can find that discussion here. But before you do that: have you ever wanted to see Dan Snierson’s celebrity interview techniques in action? Let’s just say the man knows how to get an intimate profile. Or does? Check out the season premiere of “Totally Lost” (below) for illumination. Also check it out for the teases, analysis, and guest appearances by Terry O’Quinn, Michael Emerson, and the Man In Black himself, Titus Welliver.
By the way, by all means use the message boards below as your virtual hang-out while watching Lost. Also, make sure you come back to the site immediately following the show tonight (wherever you are watching) — I’m going to have something that I think you’ll want to read, like, IMMEDIATELY. I’ll have a recap for you tomorrow morning — and then tomorrow at noon PST/3 p.m. ET, I’ll be spending an hour responding to you on Twitter @ewdocjensen.
Getting psyched!

I have to confess that I cheated on Taco Night by going to Taco Bell rather than making them at home.
I am so freaking excited — I won’t be online, phone will be off — no one’s bothering me during Lost!
Holy crap, I can’t believe they killed off Desmond and Penny in the first 5 minutes.
No kidding. It’s crazy how they had Hurley run them over with an old VW van and then Vincent ran off with their limbs. You’d think they’d give them a classier send-off.
THAT BETTER NOT BE TRUE!!!!
Doc, I’m just as amped up as you are right about now. I’m about to go home early and do nothing… Just wait…
The nerves are really starting to get to me.
I SO can’t wait, and if “you suck” is right, we’re coming for you, you jacka%$! Given that is here, I’m staying off for now. Namaste, fellow LOSTies. (except “you suck”, of course you do).
second on lisa. you suck is an a-hole
one thing I just realized – with ALL the daddy issues on the show (and everyone but Hurley has them) AND the fact that the Others make you literally kill your father (Ben/Locke) before joining them – could MIB be Jacob’s father?? or visa versa?
Hurley had daddy issues at one point. Remember? His dad (Cheech) ran off when he was a kid and left him the car that Cheech fixed up after they thought he died in the crash? The one he wrecked in the season 4 premier (right?)?

I’m embarrassed to admit I forgot it came on tonight! I just remembered like 2 seconds ago!!! I’m so excited and I’m so grateful for these little re-cap shows they do. It helps refresh my memory.
I am thirty minutes away, shaking on my couch. I cannot wait. Because I literally have no clue how this is even gonna start. And who is gonna die?
Watched the vid Doc. There are two sides. One is light, one is dark. Ok … yeah. hahahahaha.
Holy friggin eh! T minus 6 minutes!
Desmond wasn’t on the original plane. He got to the island on a boat right?
And everything is under water. WTF?
Since in that timeline Widmore would have been blown up and drowned with the Island, Desmond would never have entered his boat race and been shipwrecked on the Island. He may never have even met Penny.
OK, now I am really confused. I knew I should have made time to watch season 5 before this.
are we witnessing tptb give us both scenarios we have been debating since seaon 5 finale or is it a possible heaven and hell with the light and the sky, and the darkness. my first ramble of the season and we’re only 20 minutes in. god i have missed lost!!! lol
