Josh Schwartz and 'Chuck' EP launching CBS comedy: New 'HIMYM' companion perhaps?

josh-schwartzImage Credit: Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosJosh Schwartz will continue his quest for total televisual dominance with CBS’ recent pick-up of his half-hour comedy pilot Hitched. He cowrote the script — about a “twentysomething newlywed couple who is still learning about each other, according to The Hollywood Reporter — with Chuck exec producer Matt Miller. Sounds like it could be a solid How I Met Your Mother companion (you know, with the mother already having been met in this case) — not to mention that Chuck really is quite funny (and even Gossip Girl and The O.C. have strong humor elements).

What do you think, PopWatchers? Are you excited for another Josh Schwartz show?

What's on your mousepad? New Paramount Store has me rethinking mine.

Filed under: Movies and tagged: ,

I don’t know that I’ve ever spent money on a mousepad. I tend to use whatever freebie makes its way into my office. (Thank you, Fox, for the current one featuring the cast of Bones.) But after perusing the new online Paramount Store, I’m thinking it might be time for a change. Maybe a Top Gun mousepad to give me the cojones to click “send” on a ballsy email, or an Old School mousepad to remind me just how ridiculous my job can be (and that Will Ferrell can be funny)…

What’s on your mousepad now?

P.S. Other titles represented in the Paramount Store include The Godfather, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Grease, and Paranormal Activity.

'Heroes' recap: Sylar hates Sylar, and you can, too!

Filed under: Television and tagged: , ,

People have been seeing the future since literally the first moment of Heroes. The trick doesn’t really work as drama anymore, but not because it’s a bad trick. The problem is that none of the really bad stuff ever comes true. Apocalypse is always averted. I’m not sure if Peter’s  “Sylar rescues Emma from causing mass murder with her violin” dream actually counts as another apocalypse vision, but whatever it is, I bet you a billion bucks it’s not going to happen.

With that in mind, let’s all wish a fond farewell to Lydia, the Lady with the Plot Tattoos: she might just be the most ridiculous character in Heroes history. Using her amazing powers of empathy, she spent the first half of this season as the show’s umpteenth variation on premonition dreams and 9th Wonders!: She told Samuel what to do, and he would do it, not because it made dramatic sense but because that was what the tattoos told him he should do. 'House' recap: Psychodrama

Tagged: ,

Two weeks ago, we got the best episode in years. Last week, we got 24. This week, well… I wish it had been one of those other two. “Remorse” fell flat, pushing its patient story a little too hard while relying on Foreteen “drama” and Cuddy tension to carry the serial parts of the story. Talk about playing to your weaknesses. READ FULL STORY »

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelor': season 14, episode 4

Filed under: Television and tagged: , ,

It has been another great week for The Bachelor and I want to thank all of you for already making this season such a huge success. This has been one of the most emotional seasons we have ever had. I understand this has also been an emotional season for you as well. Some of that emotion has turned into anger and some of that anger has been aimed towards me in the comments. I’m perfectly okay with this and appreciate the honesty. I do want to mention one particular comment that really impressed my wife and I. Z wrote a comment early last Tuesday afternoon and it was awesome. I highly recommend you all go back and read it, as it was as nasty as it was eloquent. I must admit I had to look up a lot of the words she used but Z, you rocked the rant.

This week I really enjoyed surprising the girls with the RV’s and the road trip. While they were extremely excited at first I don’t think they really understood this was a true road trip and they would be roughing it. Most of the girls wore high heels when they got on the RV’s. Once they realized how it was going to be most of them went and changed except for Ashleigh who kept the heels on! When they were getting on the RV’s Ali and Vienna went in separate directions. They wanted nothing to do with one another. READ FULL STORY »

'The Bachelor' episode 4: No rose for you... or YOU!

Forget the old song lyric — it turns out two is the loneliest number, at least for the “ladies” unlucky enough to find themselves on this season of The Bachelor. If tonight’s double disses are any indication, Jake isn’t going to back down from his new I’m-not-gonna-take-it-anymore strategy anytime soon. I won’t get into the spoilery, gory details here (click over to my detailed Bachelor TV Watch recap for that), but for those who have seen the episode, let me know what you think: Did you think Jake looked “rugged” in his flannel shirts? Are high heels appropriate on a camping date? Which blonde do you find most annoying: Ali, Ashleigh, or Vienna? And finally, were you shocked by who was sent home — and, more importantly, who wasn’t? I gotta hand it to the producers: They may have chosen the world’s most vanilla Bachelor, and they may not have done a great job picking women who are compatible with him, but they certainly haven’t skimped on the drama this season. Do you agree? P.S. Don’t miss the inside scoop on this week’s episode in Chris Harrison’s exclusive behind-the-scenes Bachelor blog on PopWatch.

What 'Lost' question do you want answered in the final season?

Filed under: Lost, Television and tagged: , ,

Doc Jensen is down in the hatch busily preparing for the return of Lost on Feb. 2 — but he did send some smoke (monster) signals to point me to all the “burning questions that have to be answered in Season Six” posts floating around the Internet in recent days.

At SciFiWire, the 100 questions include “Who is Jacob?” “What’s going on with the pregnancies?” “What happened to Claire?” and “What are Widmore’s plans for The Island?”

At prominent fansite docarzt.com, The Myth of Lost author Marc Oromaner has three separate categories of Lost questions.

There is the obvious big question: What IS the Island? Other than that, I want to know: What is the smoke monster? Who built the statue? What’s up with the polar bears? And one slightly nitpicky question from season one, episode 10 that’s always bugged me: What did the psychic foresee for Claire’s baby (Aaron)? I got goosebumps watching that episode, and I still have no idea what Malkin saw — or, should we believe from Eko’s flashback that the psychic was a complete fraud and didn’t have a vision about Aaron? See, even raising one question brings up about 20 more.

So, now, over to you: What’s the burning question you need/want answered during the final season?
