Jon Hamm and Ashton Kutcher are returning to Studio 8H to host Saturday Night Live in the coming weeks. Hamm, who hosted for the first time in 2008, returns Jan. 30 with musical guest Michael Buble, and Kutcher, who hosted in 2003, 2005, and 2008, comes back Feb. 6, with musical guest Them Crooked Vultures.
Hamm was fantastic on his episode, and Kutcher was totally passable on his. (The guy documents most of his life — he’s pretty natural on camera.) They both do well playing silly, dude-centric humor, which seems to be SNL‘s strong suit right now. Count me in.
Other than shave, what do you hope Hamm does for SNL, PopWatchers? And other than tweet the living crap out of it, what do we want Kutcher to do?

I just had a thought that maybe Jon Hamm is growing his beard for his appearance on 30 Rock, maybe he goes crazy and lives in a cave after realizing that he is not perfect.
That’s hillarious and I would love to see it.
If not on 30 Rock maybe as a sketch about 30 Rock on SNL.
Both are great choices. Guys that know how to laugh at themselves and not take themselves so seriously. I always thought Michael C. Hall would be a great host, I’m sure he has comedic talent. Hopefully when his health is better, SNL will ask him to host.
SNL’s seriously lackluster season has had very little to do with the hosts and everything to do with the writing. Hopefully these hosts are given some decent material to work with. And by “these hosts,” what I really mean is “John Hamm,” since I can’t stand Ashton Kutcher.
Agreed 100%. I hope they up the writing for Jon Hamm; it’d suck to see such a legitimately funny guy ruined by bad writing.

Still hoping for Joel McHale or Zachary Levi to host after those shows wrap; NBC could use the good press, promotional value and genuinely talented comic timing.
For that same reason, it’d never happen, but Conan O’Brien would be a must-watch.

I soooo wish Conan could host SNL. But I doubt the heads at NBC (Jeff Zucker) will tell Lorene Michaels not too. Or else he’ll move the start time of SNL to 12:05am to make room for more Leno.
I feel like Ashton Kutcher is a waste of a guest spot, but surely he could do SOMETHING useful…maybe he could kill Gilly?
