This was a good review, except for the part where you said it was a good episode. I havent seen a good episode of heroes in….
Admittedly, I still watch it. But crappy tv is like being an alcoholic, ya know? You know youre killing yourself but you just.cant.stop.
For the life of me I can’t understand what everyone’s beef is. This season has been the best the show has been since season 1. It feels almost as if people are still pissed that seasons 2 and 3 weren’t all they hoped, and that there’s nothing the writers can do that’ll make up for it. It’s a shame. I love this show.
I vote you stop recapping Heroes because its basically dead and start a recap for Chuck
I liked last night for the most part but I really miss Sylar just being evil. I got the impression that his line, The only way to be human again is to give up all my powers (or whatever it was) meant that he was going to go on this soul searching, give up his powers bent. He used to be the fire in the show, the only hero/villian that actually enjoyed using his powers and now he is getting whittled down to nothing …. again.
I agree with J about the carnies, silly reach to keep an audience, like adding a baby to a hit tv show, or having the Fonz jump a shark. Stupid. I have been a fan since day one. I am now DVRing and maybe watching when I get time. P.S. writers, maybe Days of our life is hiring.
I love how people compare Heroes to Lost and Galactica. All the shows are different and involve different tastes/reasons to watch. I couldn’t get into Lost. I did try watching Galactica and it was a horrible, horrible show. I realize a lot of nerdy people watch it but I won’t. It’s convoluted like Lost. Heroes was fun and stupid in the first year. It wasn’t complicated to follow. However, the season finale was decent until the last 10 minutes. The Petrelli brothers saving the world was too silly to watch. It’s no longer fun, just stupid. Claire was never a great character, even in season 1. Hiro was adorable but such a stereotype. That’s annoying and it’s the writer’s fault. I had hoped they’d end it on their own at season 2. However, no luck. I’d rather watch Law & Order which has been on forever. I sort of watched Monday’s episode but really don’t remember what happened. That has happened for a while if I tune in. To me, all these shows are the same- lame.
You yourself seem particularly lame; you must be an expert on lameness.
I actually thought Heroes had a bright spot in the second half of the third season. This season premiere was just too ridiculous for me, and when I heard they were getting rid of the very talented Adrian Pasdar, I was sure I wouldn’t watch another episode. But I might watch this one on Hulu.
I have watched Heroes since the beginning. I really like several of the actors in the show which keeps me hanging in there. However, I really wish they would go the route of LOST and set an end date so they could figure out the story line and make sense. Every week I watch and think I must be a moron because I am lost. Then I realize it’s not me, the storyline really is choppy and doesn’t make much sense. I have noticed Sylar seems to be integrated into almost every storyline (which I love). I guess this is because he seems to be the character everyone loves (to hate). It’s just sad because this show had such potential.
Nice to see Robert Knepper turn it on – best part of this season. Hiro and Claire should just go.
I still have no idea what this season is actually about. I haven’t watched a new episode since the break. It sounds like I am not missing much, but I do enjoy the incredibly sarcastic recaps.
As usual, the best thing about Heroes is Sylar. They SHOULD just make the show all about him, but on the other hand, Zachary Quinto should be allowed to move onto bigger things.
I laughed for 5 minutes after Hiro quoted the Quantum Leap beginning and got called on it by the prosecutor. Love cross referencing old sci-fi shows, especially one of my favorites like “QL”
Nobody’s talking about the strange ending of this episode. I get the VERY odd feeling that it’s going to turn out that Sylar and Matt’s wife are brother and sister.
It is probably too late to respond to this review but I do want to thank you for an interesting and intelligent review!
Get a life dude… seriously…
