Last night‘s Atlanta auditions for American Idol featured at least one break-out star: General Larry Platt and his debut song “Pants on the Ground.”
Laugh it up, judges — this song is totally on its way to remix glory right now. Behold:
Here it is Auto-Tuned:
And one more for good measure:
(The visuals leave a little something to be desired, but I like that music the best.)
Okay, PopWatchers, pull your pants up. You kind of love this song, too, right?

I admit that I laughed at “Pants on the Ground”, but, as far as “Idol” songs popularized by hopeless rejects during the audition rounds, I’m still ALL about “We’re Brothers Forever.” (I even forced my little bro to make that his ringtone for me.)
I should clarify, I mean “ORIGINAL songs popularized by hopeless rejects during the audition rounds.”
William Hung and “She Bangs” is clearly king otherwise.
haha i agree ceballos!! we’re brothers forever will always be number one!! lol.
best part of the auditions last night. hands (not pants) down.
I dig the last remix! Awesomeness.
He was fun, but I hope he doesn’t turn into another William Hung.
William Hung was big because he was pathetic and oblivious to his own massive lack of talent or appeal. General Larry Platt is none of these. Also, Platt’s song is his own.
This is the best audition in the history of Idol and the most memorable. I have never laughed so hard in my life.
And we have a winner! The rest of the season is rather useless after this gem! Go General!
that last remix could totally be a big hit.
Agree completely! Needs some radio play…
This could totally be a big hit like ‘Who Let the Dogs Out!” Me like!
LOVED the song! especially cause it actually made sense! he’s so right about those people with their (sing it with me) PANTS ON THE GROUND!!!
Just checked out “We’re Brothers Forever”. It was okay. But “Pants on the Ground” is all that and a bag of chips! What? And it’s the truth! These guys looking like straight FOOLS with their pants on the ground. Pull that sh*t up! Get a belt!
You’re right about “Pants on the Ground” getting an important message out there. Hopefully the song can help usher in a new trend in which people wear belts and/or wear pants that fit properly.
Was wondering about that myself. We can only hope.
After that issue has been properly addressed, maybe General Platt can write a song about women who wear midriff-baring tops despite having a midriff that is more of a midroll. I don’t make them see mine, and I don’t want to see theirs.
Melinda, Gen. Platt would already be too late if he did that – we needed that song on Tuesday night BEFORE my cornea was seared by that one auditioner who was obsessed with the “Idol” game.
ewww that girl and her fat rolls were disgusting! the first auditioner they showed right? yikes!
OMG! This is the best yet funniest remix that I have heard so far. It sounds like something that DMX would have done as a spoof. I say that radio stations should release this.
Thank you Ceballos. I couldn’t remember the name of that song We’re Brother’s Forever. My sis and I mentioned that one last night – still memorable but Pants on the Ground – classic and hysterical. Simon’s reaction was priceless and he’s was right when he said it will probably be a hit song.
My son and I both agree that “Pants on the Ground” made last night’s Idol totally worth watching! I texted my sis today: “…lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground!” and was disappointed to discover that she didn’t watch it last night.
The last remix is my fave! I want it for my iPod!
This song was stuck in my head all night! Not sure if it’s a good thing but it sure is catchy.
i love the Pants off the ground Remix. I hope to hear this remix played during the show with dancers
The best talent on last night’s AI audition was General Larry Platt with his (I hope) hit single “Pants on the Ground”!
Oh yeah! That last one is going all over twitter and fb and will be on my iPod! hahaha
