Chris– Just horribly confused as to what side of the moral fence the show is really sitting on. Although, I agree with the decision tonight, I cannot and did not understand the decision not to put an end to Wes’s deception and craziness during those times with Jillian. Especially, after Jake came back to do the right thing and she still didn’t know what to do. No one deserves that. Deception is deception is deception. Lying is lying is lying. It’s all inappropriate behavior and it’s all done with the intention to hurt another human being. So, I wish all deception, lying, and deceit would be handled in the same manner. It all hurts someone unnecessarily and isn’t okay no matter who is doing it. Please be consistent!
While not everyone may be on the show for “the right reasons”, the lying, deceit often stems more from the production side of the show and less from the contestants.
Amen to this.
And to hear Jake be so shocked that someone was there for the wrong reasons made me laugh. He few back to see Jillian to call out Wes for being there for the wrong reasons. Jake should know first hand that not everyone is there for him.
Jake has the brains of a tree stump
Thanks for not going into detail about the “behavior” of Roz & the Staffer, for I watch with my teenage daughters. They are quickly learning about the different kind of people out there. It’s good for them to learn people say what you want to hear, but aren’t sincere & will quickly deceive you at their whim. Roz was an agressive girl who seems to go after what she wants….more power to her. We can’t understand why Michelle is still hanging in there…she seems like potential stalker… Watch your back Jake!
I watch with my teenaged sons and they are learning alot about people! Thank you for NOT going into detail. Everyone keeps saying cameras are everywhere, but I doubt they are in the bathrooms. I believe Chris, they broke the rules that were very clear (had to be since the male got FIRED which isn’t an easy thing to do). Yes Chris is using lawyer approved phrases, who can blame him. Go Chris! I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!
Those of you that watch with your teenagers – I think that’s great, I don’t believe in censoring what young people see or in deluding yourself that you can hide the world from them. But I do hope you have conversations with them about the utter, revolting, sexist, shallow, twisted morals and values this show represents. I mean, I love that, that’s what makes it hilarious – but I wouldn’t want my teenage daughters to think that this is how love, self-worth and intimacy are built or found.
Who are you kidding with this crock story Chris? The edit was so badly done, my friend who works in production and editing at another network started laughing so hard while pointing things out to me. Shame shame shame on ABC and you.
And one more thing Chris. The less sophiscated will read your words and run with it as the ‘gospel’. PUKE!!!
As someone eloquently said on RS’s blog, this is about entertainment. I like it for the fun and fantasy of it. So What? In the grand scheme of things it is only a tv reality show designed to entertain the audience (and about fame for those on it), and RS’s reality tv busting blog is about entertainment and seeking attention too. If you think your smarter than other people who watch this show because you have insider info. etc,.. good for you, but you don’t know what the viewers know or don’t. It is entertainment so why is everyone taking it all so seriously. The end of the day it is, Jake and these contestants experiences for a tv show.
I don’t think Chris’ word is “gospel” but he does have a boss and he can only say what he can say. Whether or not they held hands, cuddled or f*cked on camera in the driveway makes no difference to me, the way the show is designed and produced (within an inch of its life) makes a contestant having any kind of “known to other contestants” preferential treatment a big no-no.
Yes, anyone who watches reality tv with any kindof sense knows everything is edited to make us believe what “they” want.
I think the worst part of the whole ordeal is that she is now denying it. She basically admitted it when Chris talked to her and now she’s saying it was a stunt for ratings and playing the victim. If I were her and it honestly never happened I would’ve said it then and there! But her response is “my personal life is none of your business.” Girl, it’s their business when their staffer is involved! Not once does she say this never happened or anything even close to that! Anyway it was handled extremely well… kudos Chris!! As for the fact that Jake gets to get physical with multiple women that’s the show! It’s been the show for 14 seasons! That’s part of the beauty of being The Bachelor or Bachelorette he he =] If Rozlyn wanted to get physical with multiple men she should’ve waited until next season and nominated herself to be next Bachelorette!!
How do you know what she said or didn’t say? That interaction was completely edited to benefit the producers. The it’s my personal life comment could have been an answer to any question not pertaining to that particular relationship. We don’t have any idea of what Rozlyn REALLY told Chris about the situation. They will never show the real story. They know better than that.
We have no idea what she actually said. She could have denied it for an hour straight and they could have edited that part out. Also, she was put on the spot with a camera in her face. I don’t think anyone would say exactly what they want in that situation. She has the right to speak up now.
Ummm it was very clear the interpretation of inappropriate during CH and Rozlyn’s conversation is entirely different than the one ABC is wanting us to believe. So she never denied it there because for all we know they could have had a handshake.
nobody’s commented on how one of the girls says “why did she go out there with Jake?” or something to that affect and another girl says it’s Chris… how can you mix that up if you’re there for Jake?
Well, this was the first episode I have watched this year. I wish I could be more positive but I think it all fell flat and the whole Rosyln episode seemed like part of a script from As The Stomach Turns. These girls reactions seem to be canned, false and a general poor job of acting thrilled at every little note that comes to the door etc. The bloom is off the rose………………
meant to say “wouldn’t know”
“since The Bachelor is a reality show it means being truthful about what happened and showing everything that occurred even if it makes us uncomfortable”
What a load of BS Chris. You and MF would know or want to tell the truth if it came up and bit you in the face
I also found it disconcerting when Jake said he wanted to keep the dates real. In whose real world does an entire amusement park get shut down so you have the whole place to yourselves, or where you are flown to another location for dinner or have a famous, well used to be famous, band play for you on a field that you drive up to in a megaexpensive roadster. This is real dating? I have been living in an alternate universe then and missing out on a whole lot……… In any case Jake is still cute, but these girls seem mismatched. I hear the spoilers are already out, so am watching the one girl who is claimed to be ‘THE ONE’ more than the other ones.
The show is getting tarnished , my dahling, the glow is gone, the luster is off the cluster, the house lights have dimmed, and the diamonds must surely be paste, as nothing in this newest season seems genuine. As sweet as Jake may be, he doesn’t hide the fact too well that he is looking off camera at someone or something when he is kissing/fondling etc. the girl of the moment. Sorry dahling, must run, my diamonds need polishing. The moisture from the fake tears on this evening’s episode caused a few water spots. Tah tah
Chris you come off very sincere. I don’t need to know every detail and since young teens do watch the show I don’t see the purpose of having to know every detail. I get the jest, and since Rozlyn is getting paid for each episode assuming she was interested in “Jake” and not a staffer, then it was right to let her go, and the crew person too, that at least until she was “sent home” she should have been off limits. There seems to be more though regarding her not being able to call her son, or reveal to Jake she had a son, yet the girls knew, so you might address that issue please. Seperate issue, rumor has it that it was an issue!
This year Michelle seems to Jake much like Shannon was to Jason. Is this for real or do the producers promote this for more “drama”. Surely on the 1st episode a gal would realize he needs to spread himself amidst all the other gals too. Later on if she showed such jealousy it might be expected more, but 1st night she doesn’t understand how the show works. I’m assuming she’ll go or be sent home next week which is fine by me.
RS has a way of enjoyihg being a spoiler. Seems to me you need to find the mole and get rid of that person. Maybe you did already but if not I sure hope you find out who that person is.
I assume I know the ending, yet I will enjoy watching the show to see how/why Jake made the decisions he made. Ummm he tends to refer to the group by calling them guys. Please remihd him they are gals not guys.
As for the people that watch the show to find ways to be critical of you Chris, or ABC, hey, they’re still watching the show for some reason, how silly is that? Doesn’t bother them that much. Step over the poop. The show is enjoyable, I don’t find it too realistic, I don’t really care who they end up with, it’s their life, and I know the odds are probably against them working out anyway, so I try to keep my perspective about it, Reality shows, aren’t always so real. The Jason season taught me not to buy everything I see and since then I try very hard not to.
So Chris shouldn’t talk about the details because teens are watching the show? The show is pure sex from start to finish! It’s ok to watch almost naked woman wraped, litteraly, around an almost naked guy cramming her tongue down his throat. But it’s not ok for Chris to “say” anything inappropriate. Hmm.
I don’t think they had sex, I think she just gave the guy a blow job and the rest of the staff found out.
I’m curious about the screening process of the contestants. Are they given any tests for intelligence, psychological stability, or moral attitudes?
I feel sorry for Michelle. She is so desperate. When she is let go, she will be totally devastated. I realy hope that the producers of the show didn’t orchestrate her pain by having Jake keep her for ratings. I hate all the name calling – she needs counseling.
On a lighter note, the grammar is a lot better. So far only one person starts her sentences with “me and Jake”.
I love the show and am romantic enough to hope for a happy ending.
Hi Chris,
Question: Why is it that when the Jake and the girl in the yellow dress (diamond necklace; don’t recall her name) were in the car, they appear to not be wearing seatbelts (or lap belts given the vintage car)? I’ve noticed this in other seasons as well. I understand that the couple is being followed by a car crew, and surprisingly, there were no other cars in sight, but, for the sake of optics, shouldn’t safety be paramount?
Brain explosion…the last sentence should be: I understand that the couple is being followed by a camera crew, and surprisingly, there were no other cars in sight, but, for the sake of optics, shouldn’t safety be paramount?
