Betty White, Frasier‘s Jane Leeves, Just Shoot Me‘s Wendie Malick, and One Day at Time‘s Valerie Bertinelli have been cast in the TV Land comedy pilot Hot in Cleveland. The show, the network confirms to EW, follows three fortysomething best friends from L.A. who, after getting stuck in Ohio, decide to stick around because the locals find them glamorous. White, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will play “a grumpy and opinionated lady who has lived in the cottage of the trio’s Cleveland house for 50 years.”
I’m loving this, particularly the idea of watching what I’m guessing will be a sharp-tongued Malick (she does it so well, she’s got to be the Dorothy) face off against White. Are you?

I’m a Cleveland native, and a filmmaker. I doubt this will shoot in Cleveland. It would be nice but it will be like the Drew Carey show. Shoot a few opening shots here and the rest of the time in LA. I still think the ideal of “the locals” finding them glamoruous is hysterical.
As long as Cleveland gets great press and publicity, that is all that matters.

I actually don’t care how bad it is, I’ll watch it anyway. I love Betty White.
Don’t assume it’s “dumb” since they are not skinny “Gossip Girl” sluts.
[Dumb] People assume that 50-60 y/old women still wear curly perms and floral dresses. Get real.
So they took the “Liz Lemon Goes to Cleveland” gag (where she was mistaken for a model) from “30 Rock” and decided to expand it into an entire show.
I guess it could be worse. (At least the cast will deliver.)
EW… your “picture” of the 4 actresses could be one of the worst & laziest photoshopped I’ve seen in ages! My 9-year-old daughter can do better than that mess.
Look again, it’s actually the cast of Golden Girls with their heads replaced. Even White has her head attached to Sofia’s body.
Is this about the three young Golden Girls and another Sophia? Hope this new show will turn well for TV Land. I would like to watch it. I really don’t care about these TV reality shows anymore and it is not fun to watch.
