Drumroll please…we have a winner in our Guilty Pleasures Reality TV Showdown! After more than a month of intense voting, fans have given the crown to Wipeout. More than 3,600 people voted in the finals, with Wipeout getting 60% of the vote and soundly beating our runner-up, Say Yes to the Dress. Here’s a look at the final bracket.
Here at PopWatch headquarters, we were a little surprised that something like The Real Housewives of Atlanta or Rock of Love didn’t make it to the finals, but Wipeout clearly has some special guilt-inducing, crowd-pleasing qualities that took it all the way. It’s Big Red Balls for the win!
So, Wipeout fans, celebrate the show’s victory by sounding off in the comments about why this show beat out all the other guilty pleasures.

This is a Gulty Summer Pleasure when nothing else is on – It is a huge Laugh-fest!!
I cannot say why, but watching people run into rubber objects and wipeout is just funny. It maybe should not be, but it is. That’s why it is a guilty pleasure.
On the other hand, the shows you mention (housewives, etc) are not a guilty pleasure, but just plain annoying.
Why is Wipeout the best show? It’s ordinary people, doing crazy stunts, and all in the name of good, clean fun (and $50,000). No catfights, no divas, and nothing else that’s overly demeaning, to the contestant or the viewer. This is a show that celebrates the human spirit, while simultaneously covering it in mud and bouncing it off a giant red ball. Or something like that.

“Wipeout” is one of the few “family-friendly” shows that our family can sit down and enjoy together, along with “Japanese Gameshow” and “Amazing Race”. The hosts are funny, Jill’s nice to look at, and the telestrated enhancements are entertaining. And people going face-first into mud or being punched in the head is ALWAYS great viewing.
I can’t believe SYTTD didn’t beat this out…wipeout hardly seems like a guily pleasure compared to the countless women that love watching SYTTD and won’t fess up…i.e. guilty pleasure…this bracket was a bust…I would have to hunt it down everyday to vote and it wouldn’t just be on the main page and easily accessible…There were even days when I totally forgot about it.
You are right Ty, had your vote been able to find it’s way here, the result would have been different. It’s a shame. Now, move that bus!
