Style Hunter: Ginnifer Goodwin's 'Big Love' promo dress

As the promo for Big Love says, the new season premieres this Sunday (9 p.m., HBO) and as my colleague Ken Tucker says, it’s a secret- and drama-filled season.

Plot points aside, one of the sartorial secrets many of you have been dying to find out is who makes Ginnifer Goodwin’s white dress in the promos.

I now have an answer, but it might not be one you like; the dress was custom-made by BL’s costume department. Sure, it’s sad that we all can’t pick up the light-as-air number for ourselves, but I must say, I’m pretty impressed with the costume designers. It looks straight off the Bloomingdale’s racks!

If you still want your vision-in-white fix, try Calvin Klein’s sleeveless brocade dress (zappos.com; $148) or this Laundry by Shelli Segal sleeveless pleated party dress (zappos.com; $301).

Please tell me this is not how you’re covering the much-anticipated return of Emmy-nominated Big Love. You had an article earlier this week titled “28 days until Lost”. Big Love comes back this Sunday, and I don’t care about this dress!
    Big Love gets no love!!!

I’d check out J Crew’s Silk chiffon Sophia dress or Silk tricotine Sophia short dress to get the same look.

BY THE WAY THE COSTUME DESIGNER IS MYSELF….CHRISI KARVONIDES AND IT IS PALE YELLOW. MANY THANKS FOR THE COMPLEMENT AND IT DOES “TAKE A VILLAGE” TO CREATE THE COSTUMES FOR OUR CAST OF UP TO 5O. THUS WE HAVE AN AMAZING CREW OF EQUALLY TALENTED COSTUMERS, TAILOR, SEAMSTRESS, DYER, SHOPPERS AND A COSTUME SUPERVISOR ALONG WITH NUMEROUS FITTINGS TO GET EACH OF THE CHARACTERS CLOTHES TO FIT AS WELL AS TO SUIT THE SCRIPT, OR IN THIS CASE THE PHOTO SHOOT’S THEME.
