The 11 of you who don’t follow Adam Lambert on Twitter may not be aware of his no-longer-secret desire to snag guest-starring roles on True Blood, Weeds, and/or Gossip Girl. To recap, the American Idol season 8 runner-up responded to rumors about a possible role on Glee by announcing: “Glee guest star rumor: it’s a rumor. Sorry guys.” Then, in three subsequent status updates, Adam went on to daydream a little about his small-screen acting aspirations: “If I had to pick a show to guest star on I’d loooooooove to be on True Blood. Or Weeds. Those shows are amazing. Prob need some major acting classes though first. The casts of both those shows are first rate. Oh yeah. I’d love to be on Gossip Girl too! Leighton is amazing. I should be Blair’s shopping buddy. Hahah.” Now, because Adam managed to blend together my two favorite subjects in the world — horse racing and what’s for lunch American Idol and scripted television — I couldn’t help but do a little daydreaming of my own, and I thought it might be fun for all you Idoloonies, too. So here’s the challenge: Put on your Hollywood executive hat, then name the ideal show — and be sure to suggest a specific role! — for Idol‘s glittery powerhouse. I’ll start:
I’d cast Adam as a Trevor de l’Abdul, contestant on a Project Runway-esque show for aspiring fashion designers — where Vanessa L. Williams’ formidable editrix Wilhelmina Slater just so happens to be a judge/mentor. Things get complicated when Trevor hooks up with Willie’s gay-in-waiting Marc (Michael Urie) during a Mode-sponsored cocktail party for the contestants. The morning after, Marc can’t figure out if Trevor is just using him to court favor with Willie, while Willie herself gets fearful that if the Marc-Trevor dalliance goes public (thanks to that relentless dish-hound Suzuki St. Pierre!), she could get painted as a less-than-impartial judge. And it’s up to Betty to investigate whether the dashing young designer truly has the hots for her frenemy, or if he’s simply using every angle possible to take home first prize.

I would love to see Adam on True Blood or Weeds. A little more edgy, a lot more him. But if he does end up on Glee, I’d love to see a good scene with Sue Sylvester. A serious showdown. (Adam would win.)
I would love to see Adam on True Blood or Weeds as well. They both seem like shows for him. I can see him in a one-time role on TB as the vamp that turns Lafayette. I have always wanted to see Lafayette be turned and become a vampire. Or maybe Lafayette is the human boyfriend to Adam Lambert’s vampire character.
On Weeds it would be best for him to play himself in a cameo.

Adam could be this graduating Senior whose family is constantly moving or he could be a new art teacher and then the art curiculum could be dropped…that would be so true life. Or he could be a teacher at another school and Mr. Shue could pull him in to help out with a struggling Kurt…or he could be a friend of Rachael’s dad. Or way better yet a Jewish guy who Rachael and Puck know and to be real fun you could have Puck (and Finn) sorta be fascinated by him.

I prefer Adam as a teacher on Glee, but if he’s cast as one of their teachers the show will have to figure out how to get rid of him since it’s just a cameo. Have we seen the adviser for Vocal Adrenaline, their competition? I think we saw their outlandish choreographer once but not the teacher/adviser. He could be cast as the very arrogant, but talented leader of the opposition. Could be a really fun role. Lots could be done with that.

Actually, Adam Lambert would be GREAT in True Blood. There are BIG changes in store for that show! For one, Lafayette (the black, male gay character) is getting a LOVE INTEREST!!! And another, from the book (Bite?), there is a character called “Bubba” which is to be an Elvis type character who has a MAJOR role in the character Sookie’s life. It is a short lived character in the book, but is very MAJOR in its impact nonetheless! Either way, if the director/producer wants to go “Elvis” or gay, there is PLENTY of room for Adam Lambert to exercise his well honed acting chops, from a DECADE of theatre work, on the small screen! BTW, “homoerotica” is about to garner a BIG presence on True Blood next season! Adam could surely find a short lived role, or cameo, to lend his awesomeness to!

It’s fine if people don’t like him; his talent and charisma obviously go over some poeple’s heads. Many of us who has followed Adam’s journey from the beginning of AI8 to now, want him to suceed, whether on TV, film, music, and theatre. I agree with you: if Adam was so untalented, a flash-in-the-pan, and only over-hyped then he wouldn’t be sort after by those in the TV, film, and music industry. Adam isn’t just about hype, he has the obvious talent, stage presence, and charisma and likable personality for the long haul. Adam is probably the only AI runner-up to have had a fanbase support him long after the finale. Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson were finalists, but not runner-ups. Clay Aiken had a fanbase after Idol, but it appears that many of his fans abondoned him after his second CD. Adam has the longevity and the talent to do whatever he wants. If UB, Glee, and TB are interested in putting him on their on the shows, they obviously see the talent he processes. Adam was in Wicked, The Ten Commandments and Hair.

I couldn’t agree more. Adam’s got this way of leaving his mark on anything he touches. I know that there are better roles than Glee for Adam, but I can’t refuse the fact that their ratings would shoot for the moon with Adam on the show!!! It’s a show that focuses on Dynamic vocals which is Adam’s cup of tea!!! It’s like the show was made for him to be on.
I would cast him as the new singer performing at Fangtasia on True Blood. He would be an old frenemy of Eric’s and we would see some more flashbacks of Eric’s past. I would be sure to write some very hot scenes between him and Eric. When Bill and Sookie come into Fangtasia to meet with Eric, Adam would be all over Sookie, slyly charming her against her will. Eric and Bill, seeing how intrigued Sookie was, would reluctantly work together to get Adam to go back home and leave Sookie alone.

I am just tired of the first thing I read in the comments section being from someone who has to bash the person the article is talking about. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and there are plenty of people I can’t stand, but I don’t go out of my way to read articles on them and then post comments. If you don’t like Adam fine, I just wish the haters would make better arguments against the person.
Mike you make no sense at all! Just because you don’t care for the “media whore” as you say, what gives you the right to insult such people who care for Adam and are his fans? That would make the fans wrong if they were to personally attack you for not liking him. It is your RIGHT not to like him, but what right is it for you to personally attack anyone who does? Media whore? No buddy. A media whore is someone with zero talent who seeks the paparazzi. Adam can hit every note on the guitar and has legends on his side. LEGENDS that know more than you and I about music, about the business, about longevity. The MEDIA however are OBSESSED with Adam. Where since his audition, were interested in his private and past life just like the haters and lovers alike, and still are infatuated. His own father said he finds the lack of anonymity hard to cope with sometimes but he’s dealt with worse, he’s a thick skinned guy. It tells a lot about your character that you’re so quick to judge, calling a random fan “superficial” because they don’t agree with you LOL. Are you for real.

It’s not just this magazine. He’s a media sweetheart. He brings in the hits, it’s no biggie.
I would still love to see him in a role as a substitute teacher on Glee. The girls fall for him, but he lets them down easy with the old “someday you will find the one that is right for you”… and then launches into Queen’s “Somebody to Love”.
You know he can act from his amazing theater performances (check out The Ten Commandments), and he is rated by music professionals as one of the most gifted singers of all time.
YEs! I have been dying to hear him sing Somebody to Love, it would be perfect on Glee. Please Ryan Murphy, make this happen! oops I think Glee already did somebody to love. How about a showdown with Sue and he sings Killer Queen? Please make a duet with Lea Michelle! Or use Adam’s own backstory for the storyline. He always wanted to play Judas in JC Superstar, can you work that in? Something from Wicked since he was the understudy for the lead? Hair?
I would LOVE to hear Adam sing Queen’s “I Want It All”, “I Was Born To Love You” or “The Show Must Go On”!
The Queen song that Adam should sing is “A Kind of Magic” – One dream, one soul, one prize, one goal, one golden glance of what should be… Just TRY to get that one out of your mind! LOL It would be so perfect for Adam! And ESP. on Glee! The song’s lyrics are so him – AND so fit with the Glee cast too! And, I like your sub. teacher idea!
And if Adam were on True Blood I think he should start out as Adam, a human, singing in a club – then gets turned.
Slezak, your UB idea is good, but complicated. Adam often goes to mag. offices to be interviewed – he could do that – then let the cast fight over who’s going to do the interview.
I also like the Project Runway idea – he should be a judge and let the designers create outfits for his upcoming tour. How cool would THAT BE?
Yes, Tagrid, I see Adam at Fangtasia, too! I think it would be great. He could be a bartender or performer, either way. There would be lots of trouble for him to get into, and I would definitely want to see him vamped out whether he starts out that way or gets turned. I think True Blood and Adam are a natural fit!
