Guys, it’s simple: we’ll just send him back in time…
…but there’s that nasty nuclear bomb issue……
Lost Fans of the world UNITE! I love my country, I honor my president but I agree with Zoey. The law says the president has to deliver the SOU speech to Congress, not to every TV channel and set. We live in the age of twitter and all good citizens can keep up with the state of the union 24/7. LOST, however has been away too long and we want it as promised. Surely this falls under our Constitutional right to the pursuit of happiness!
I just skipped to the end of the comments so I’m not sure if anyone saw/noted this BUT according to the New York Times:
Obama Won’t Speak Night of Lost Premier

WASHINGTON (AP) — Good news for fans of ”Lost” — the president doesn’t plan to mess up the television show’s season premiere on ABC.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says he doesn’t foresee a scenario in which President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address will fall on Feb. 2, the same night the show’s final season debuts.
The State of the Union is traditionally held at the end of January, but there have been rumors that the White House could move the speech to early February in hopes of having a health care bill in hand.
Gibbs says a date for the address will be announced soon.
Given the quote from the AP above, perhaps President Obama is also a “Lost” fan. Remember he wants people to actually watch the SOTU, not tune it out because they are feeling disgruntled. Love that Dharma outfit!
Only 3 weeks to go!
Whatever else, be it bumped or not, this isn’t a political rally campaign site. So “Boo Hiss” to those that want to sanctimoniously tell me why the SOTU address is more important than my own personal desires to kick back and watch something I enjoy rather than play Henny Penny and screech “The sky is falling”. And, last point on my own private soap box here, please explain to me how those of us in the sub $50K earning group could have foregone the whole recession? I guess I am a clueless American that, gosh darn it, just wants to use my two hours differently than someone else. That’s the beauty about personal freedom here in the US. C’mon 2/2/10!
