Someday Adam Lambert will be on ALL the channels

Wednesday night, Adam Lambert chatted about acid-tripping on Chelsea Lately, participated in a random mistletoe fail cameo on The Jay Leno Show, and sang “Whataya Want From Me” on his home planet/channel, Fox! Sadly, EW.com’s Idoloonie-in-chief Michael Slezak spent Adam’s banner night in some other country, likely hoping his iPod battery doesn’t run out so he can finish out his “Sweatin’ to the Idols Vol. 29″ playlist while floating around on a lily pad. So I feel it’s my duty to make this announcement: Adam Lambert’s performance on the season 6 finale of So You Think You Can Dance was geeeeeeenius.

Back to basics, you know? I lost some love for Adam after his fun, sexy time at the AMAs not because of the sexual stuff (hi, I just made my porn debut with Ausiello) but because he was acting like a hyperactive Super Mario in one of the underground brick worlds when all he really needed to do was sing well. Kim Kardashian and her bare shoulders invade 'CSI:NY'

I was flipping through channels earlier and saw a Kardashian! Acting! On a popular primetime network show! What does this mean for the future of TV?

If you missed it, Kim Kardashian was on a new CSI:NY tonight, playing (without any real spoilers) a not-so-nice gal who seemed to sashay through the precinct with very tan skin, perfect hair, and an off-the-shoulder top (in NYC, at Christmas?! Not likely with today’s temperatures). I didn’t think she was bad — but I do have to say it’s always distracting when “famous” people show up as “unknown characters” on TV. To that end, Train also guest starred on this episode.

Who watched? Any snap judgments on Kim’s acting skills? (Warning, there may be spoilers in the comments!)

PopWatchers, I only know the basics about the Iron Man universe. So please, by all means, watch the trailer below and share your thoughts! What do you think of our first footage of Black Widow, War Machine, and Whiplash?

Does David Letterman have something against Santa? Or Kris Allen?

About three hours ago, American Idol cutie patootie Kris Allen tweeted that he would be performing with a “special guest” on tonight’s episode of The Late Show with David Letterman. As you see here, said special guest was going to be Santa Claus playing the drums, but apparently the folks at The Late Show are in cahoots with the Grinch and nixed Kris Kringle pulling off his best Ringo. EW is waiting for clarification from the show’s producers, so if we do hear why Letterman and co. have declared war on Christmas cheer, you all will be the first to know.

UPDATE: CBS tells us “the whole band ended up wearing holiday sweaters for their appearance.” The holiday spirit lives!

Hallmark Channel goes HD just in the nick of time

Categories: Television

The Hallmark Channel will launch the network in High Definition on Feb. 1, 2010. I know what you’re thinking: Golden Girls is going to look awesome! But after examining the channel’s upcoming original film debuts, I realize this move was, in fact, necessary. Not so much for Feb. 13′s Elevator Girl starring Mean Girls‘ Lacey Chabert and Final Destination 3‘s Ryan Merriman (“a stuck elevator brings a free-spirited woman and an uptight lawyer together”), but for March 6′s Uncorked, a romantic comedy starring Dexter‘s Julie Benz and Men in Trees‘ Scott Elrod (pictured, right), and March 20′s Healing Hands starring Invasion’s Lisa Sheridan and Eddie Cibrian (pictured, left).

In Healing Hands, Cibrian plays a school janitor (love it) who awakens from a coma and realizes he has the ability to heal others just by touching them (love it even more). Every time he uses this new gift, it drains his energy. Eventually, it threatens both his health and his relationship with his fiancée (Sheridan). In short, I’m envisioning Cibrian being shirtless, if only to be shocked back to life once or twice. HD!

Uncorked follows a workaholic CFO (Benz) on business to Southern California’s wine country, where she meets a world-famous chef (Elrod). I predict it will get hot in his kitchen. HD!

But seriously, is there a network you’re still waiting on to go HD?

Sorry, buddy. You wear an ’80s sweater with horizontal sleeve stripes to work, you deal with the consequences. You don’t have to pout about it. Next time, please go for it a little harder with some fun leggings. Now come by my office and we’ll find a nice shiny blue ribbon for your hair.

'Project Runway' season 7 cast revealed: There will be bangs!

I’m still hungover from the long, disappointing slog that was season six, but Lifetime’s unveiling of a whole new crop of Project Runway hopefuls has me all kinds of excited today. For one thing, it’d be pretty hard not to improve on the last cast (like coupons at Macy’s, some exceptions apply). But a quick glance at Lifetime‘s gallery of the 16 fresh faces who’ll be on season seven (debuting Jan. 14) gives me hope that our show might be back on track. Hopefully.

Some first impressions:

-Bangs! No fewer than four contestants are sporting a sleek straight fringe (see photo, left). And two of them have ‘dos similar enough that they could be sharing the same stylist. What does it all mean?! What is the greater meaning behind this proliferation of bangs?

-We might have an entertaining nutter butter in Ping Wu who, in her home visit video models some kooky, hand-knit socks that double as washcloths.

-Pamela Ptak: God is her favorite designer.

-There is a Rocker Dad. Oh jeez…

-Anthony Williams: I adore this guy already. He has personality! Dude lives with his mom in Atlanta (“You are officially in the luxury ghetto”), worships Manolo Blahnik, and compares his mother’s collection of “little colored children” figurines to “Children of the Corn…they’re gonna come get me in my sleep.”

-I still don’t care about Models of the Runway.

If you can stomach sitting through 16 repetitions of those cloying Cotton: The Fabric of Our Lives commercials that play before each video, take a trip on over to Lifetime to get acquainted with the Season Seveners, then report back in the comment section below: Who stands out for you?

Lisa Loeb to launch an eyewear line: Finally!

Singer, songwriter, and eyeglass-trendsetter Lisa Loeb will be launching her own eyewear line through Classique Eyewear, and all we can say is: Uhh, what took her so long? The singer, who’s known as much for her iconic cat-eye accessory as she is for the Reality Bites anthem “Stay,” will include styles in black and tortoise-shell, along with rhinestones and other etchings for her frames.

But just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, each frame is named after one of Loeb’s songs. That does beg the question: What color will “Stay” be? Or how about “Waiting for Wednesday”?

Would you cop Loeb’s eyewear style?

'SYTYCD' finale: Are you excited?

There have been plenty of things wrong with this fall season of So You Think You Can Dance: judges’ critiques have been too long, dances have been too short, and we’ve been forced to settle for a top 6 instead of a top 4. But the season’s finale is gearing up to be a goodie: Not only are awesome dancers like Kathryn, Jakob and Russell still in the mix, but we’re going to be treated to performances by Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert. (Take that ABC!)

So are you excited for the finale, PopWatchers? Who are you hoping takes the title? Do you think Fox should continue airing a fall season? (My vote: No!) And check back tomorrow for our recap of the finale, as well as exit interviews with the winner and five runner-ups!
