If you’ve heard “Parks and Recreation is so much better this season” — and chances are you have — believe it. While your regular Tuesday night shows are in repeats, give this sophomore comedy a chance with tonight’s special four-episode mini-marathon (NBC, starting at 8 p.m. ET). You get Leslie (Amy Poehler), a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana, dealing with the fallout of mistakenly marrying two male penguins at the local zoo, staking out a community garden in which someone has chosen to plant pot, judging a beauty pageant, and going on a “practice date” (watch a clip bel0w).
Once you’re hooked, catch up with all 12 season 2 episodes on Hulu.

I really, really wanted to like this show and watched all of last season and the beginning of this season but had to give up. I don’t ever expect a show to be perfect out of the gate but I couldn’t watch anymore.
Yay! When I saw the post yesterday about the mini-marathon of Community, I was a little upset that Parks and Recreation wasn’t getting the same treatment. I hope people watch. Parks and Recreations has been so good this season, and more consistent than any of the other NBC Thursday night comedies.
But Mandi, don’t mislead people! Not everything is in repeats tonight: there’s a new episode of Better Off Ted at 9:30 on ABC! It’s one of the best comedies on TV and ABC is trying to force it into cancellation. Let’s save it people! Everyone watch Better Off Ted!
Parks & Rec is much better this season. I couldn’t even watch all of last years, but was convinced by others to give it a shot this year. I just wish they would bring back Louis CK – his character was great!
The Seattle NBC station is only showing 2 of the episodes. How irritating. It’s my dad favourite show (he used to work in Parks and Rec and says it’s pretty spot on) and I was looking forward to using my downtime tonight to catch up.
They did the same thing in Detroit.
I watched and was hooked from the penguin episode, which was very funny and the gay marriage angle was done well. It reminded me of a harder edged Modern Family.
By the way to all fans NBC.com was showing full episodes so you can see more if you like there!
Parks and Recs is a gem! So much better this season, and all the characters are much more developed and seem to all have their time to shine. Please give it another chance so that it won’t be cancelled. The practice date episode was hilarious!
