Every roll I’ve ever seen him in, Downey has been a gay man.
How silly that they’re trying to make Sherlock Holmes seem gay. How totally pathetic that they focus on this aspect at all. They’re just trying to push “gayness”. Just sick.
Hello—how did this discussion become bashing one another for religious convictions, pro or con? The question was about the character portrayal–not bashing one another. I don’t necessarily thing Robert Downey Jr. portrays Holmes as homosexual, but if that is his take, it is really a non-issue in the movie. It isn’t pushed one way or the other. For a fact, Holmes, in the original characterization, was a drug addict.
1st: Forgive my English. I’m using the Google translator (I’m argentinian), and, you know, does not translate at all well.
2nd: Look. I’m fourteen, and I always ask myself because the people discussed about this. I am not religious, but I believe in God. And I’m sure that he had tried equally to Eva if she had been blonde if she had been black. And he had judged the same way Cain if he had been gay or straight. Because our sexuality is defined according to the genetics, as well as the color of the skin. To God, we are all equal. To God, we are just the soul that lives within us.
