This is a few days old, but if you haven’t checked out this 70-minute review of The Phantom Menace, then you’re a menace to all the Star Wars: Episode I haters out there. Need an additional reason to sit through an hour-plus review? The series of awesome YouTube videos — made by a man named “Mike” in Milwaukee — won the approval of Lost and Star Trek‘s Damon Lindelof, who reportedly said about the review, “Your life is about to change. This is astounding film making. Watch ALL of it.” So sit back and watch all of this slightly NSFW 70-minute review about the film that “Mike” says “was the most disappointing thing since my son.” (Part 1 is embedded below.) Enjoy!

That’s offensive and an insult to the memory of brittany murphy.. shame on you ew
are you kidding me?
Surely this was posted erroneously!
wtf?
Check out the Star Trek nemesis review as well: http://www.youtube.com/user/RedLetterMedia#p/u/3/8ZjkHUrEuHc
This is high-larious, as a man called Jayne might say. Also check out this guy’s reviews of all four TNG Star Trek movies. They are equally hilarious. And thanks to Damon L, without whose recommendation I would not have checked this out.
Yes, I have seen it all, it is awesome!
Yeah, probably not. 70 minutes is a long time.
This is hilarious! He makes some very valid points!
Can we get the court to order that George Lucas watch this and answer for his crimes?
Am I the only person that this scared the s*** out of?
What is wrong with your face? Hahaha. This is the most insightful thing I’ve ever seen.
Regarding the first part, where they’re trying to describe the characters, I think you can make some statements about the characters of Amidala and Qui-Gon. She’s devoted to her world, very serious, etc. He is indeed stern, selfless, sort of a Zen master. They’re not necessarily the archetypes that were found in the original Star Wars, and people haven’t lived with them for 30 years, either. I think that section was a little disingenuous.
“She’s very serious”. Brilliant.
Yes, she is very serious…..and boring.
Outstanding. I just watched all 7 segments, but the first is literally one of the best story deconstructions ever. My hubby just kept shaking his head in disbelief – “I knew it was bad, but I didn’t remember it was THAT bad.”
You should check out all of “Mike’s” videos. He and his filming partner “Jay” have made some pretty entertaining videos. Check out http://www.blancscreencinema.com
Nice to see Mike getting some recognition. He’s been doing very funny short films for over 10 years now, and I’ve been a fan for about that long.
Absolute genius.
