Of course Schweddy Balls, the Sweeney Sisters and the claymation film “Christmastime for the Jews” sung by Darlene Love!
YES! FInally someone said Christmas Time For The Jews! I love this one so much!
But yes, Schweddy Balls and It’s A Wonderful Life’s Alternate Ending round out my top 3.
The Gumby Christmas special with “Donny and Marie” singing a duet that leads to them kissing. I’m not sure who played “Donny,” but I do remember is was Julie Louis-Dreyfus who played Marie. Creepily hilarious!
Hannukah Harry and Schweddy Balls are awesome. Also have a soft spot for Tarzan, Tonto and Frankenstein and the TV Funhouse remake of Charlie Brown.
I also love Tarzan, Tonto and Frankenstein doing Christmas carols. “Awaaay……in…manger…”
I miss Phil so much. Hysterical just standing there grunting as Frankenstein.
Oh and I forgot the Mary Catherine Gallagher skit with Whitney Houston, Penny Marshall and Rosie O’Donnell and of course Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah song on Weekend Update!
The Sweeney Sisters Christmas medley, hands down. Even William Shatner was in that clip.
Steve Martin’s “A Christmas Wish” is one of my all-time favorite SNL moments. Wonderfully written and played out. I am also a big fan of the first “Hanukkah Harry” sketch and OF COURSE The Sweeney Sister’s holiday sketch (I wish Hulu would post any of the Sweeney Sisters sketches…so funny). Can’t wait to see the special.
What about the TV Funhouse song “Christmastime for the Jews”?
Schwetty Balls… Alec Baldwin and the NPR ladies…..my fave!!
Kwanzaa Timmy on Weekend Update with Tim Meadows and Vanessa Williams.
I also loved the Sweeney Sisters and Hannukah Harry! And one that nobody else has mentioned is the Killer Christmas Trees from the original cast.
Watched this last night. Totally forgot about one of my faves, Martha Stewart’s naked Christmas special!
They had too many new ones on there. No Hanakuh Harry was a SHAME.
You can’t even watch Hanukkah Harry on the SNL website, just a sad, short abbreviated version. SIGH! They have removed all SNL from youtube, why can’t it be made available on their own website. Lorne?? are you listening???
“Hey Kwanzaa Timmy, whatcha gonna give me?”
Tim Meadows(in his best Barry White voice)and the Kwanzettes wishing everybody a Happy sexy Kwanzaa. “I think I know you mister, You knocked up my sister”
“Girl we talking bout Kwanzaa, not Black History Month”
