There have been plenty of things wrong with this fall season of So You Think You Can Dance: judges’ critiques have been too long, dances have been too short, and we’ve been forced to settle for a top 6 instead of a top 4. But the season’s finale is gearing up to be a goodie: Not only are awesome dancers like Kathryn, Jakob and Russell still in the mix, but we’re going to be treated to performances by Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert. (Take that ABC!)
So are you excited for the finale, PopWatchers? Who are you hoping takes the title? Do you think Fox should continue airing a fall season? (My vote: No!) And check back tomorrow for our recap of the finale, as well as exit interviews with the winner and five runner-ups!

just crop the picture above from ellenore’s left, and that’s the final 4.
agreed.
Lol. Yeah, agreed.
lol. Truth.
So true, I feel bad but it’s true
This season was really not good; weird timing, not enough memorable dances, and last night’s finale felt like just any old show – there was nothing special about it! Please go back to a summer season, SYTYCD.
I haven’t been watching this season I just feels tired
I am watching tonight because Adam Lambert is performing!!!
SYTYCD brought joys to my summer but I couldn’t bare to watch the fall edition. Once a year is all that I can handle. I could care less. I’ll watch J’s clips on youtube and be done with it.
Did Cat mention that they were going to hold auditions again in January? I wish they would only have the show in the Summer. There are some good dancers in this group, but all I could think about last night was how this season could never compare to others. I miss Katie and Joshua!
I think she meant that they were starting to audition dancers in January FOR a summer series. Does that make sense?
My top three are Jakob, Russell, and Kathryn. I’d be happy for any of them to take home the prize.
Seconded. I was surprised everyone seems to agree. I’m truly hoping Jakob takes it, but I would be very happy with the other two.
NO – lame season – can’t wait for it to be O V E R
Far more excited for the Top Chef reunion show at 9.
Stop hating on Ashleigh please!!! She’s way better than everyone gives her credit for, she’s brought way down by Ryan. Also, I think the big huge stage and the constant light/video shows during the dances are why I dont love it this season.
I agree completely. Why did they have to mess with the more intimate feeling they had in the past seasons? I hate the big stage and the distractions in the background. I also want to see more of the choreographers during rehearsal. Since they aren’t judges anymore, I miss some of their personalities.
i love jakob. PLEASE no more fall seasons!!!!! stick to summer-that’s when its best.
No, this should just be summer, I mean, Cat look tired last night. I missed the everyone dances with everyone else thing of the finale (including girls with the girls and guys with the guys) which I should have suspected they wouldn’t do with the top six. But there is something flat about this season, I wasn’t a huge fan of last season either. And though I like Adam Shankman, I miss his choreography and I miss Lil’ C’s critques and Debbie Allen (I mean, if you want to just revolve those three, great)
Ew. No. I have to fast-forward Lil C.
I’ll switch to it when the Sing-Off is on commercials. I am rooting for Jakob and Ellenore.
Jakob is extremely impressive. His form, lines, and flexibility are excellent. However, I like Russell. Lastly, this should remain a summer program. I look forward to the program. As a regular show, there’s no anticipation.
As a long time fan, this season has just been “off” from the start. The audition eps ran for too many weeks (at the expense of cutting out an entire week of competition). The new stage was jarring. No Mia Michaels routines (I missed them). No rotating judges gets a little stale. A lot of inconsistencies with how many dances are performed, how much we see in the interview packages, etc. The one hour performance finale was rushed. Too many musical acts scheduled for tonight’s final ep – will they even do the “judges’ favorites” like previous seasons? All in all, it seemed a bit more canned than usual. On the flip side, I loved that we saw Broadway and ballroom styles choreographed by new folks. Less Tyce is always good!
Once a year is enough. Rooting for Jakob.
