This ep was great! Sheldon was hysterically deadpan through all of it, it’s amazing Leonard has never taken a swing at him, and Beverly going over to feel up the busboy- priceless!
I really enjoyed the episode a lot. I also want to point out the genius headline on the main page “Kiss Kiss Big Bang”. Reference to my favorite movie = win
Koothrappali’s parents are funny too and sometime in the future it will be good to expand on them. Some things worked better than others in this ep, but I liked it.
I loved that Beverly said the same thing about Penny’s car as Sheldon did a few weeks ago when Penny separated her shoulder. I think Eugene Levy would perfect to play Leonard’s dad. He and Galecki look like each other. Oh by the way, I am taking RSVP’S for Mr. Pewterschmidt’s TBBT viewing party next week, so let me know if you are coming and what you are bringing.
And great comeback from Penny: “Yeah, I’m going to have to get some tape for that.”
I loved this episode and am kicking myself for not DVRing it, so I could watch it again and again.
I about DIED with glee when she kissed him. I’ve been saying since her character was introduced how fun it would be to see her and Sheldon hook up (even if it was only to create a genetc super-being that they would probably raise in some kind of lab-based mehcnaical womb)
So to see it even touched on was like a big Christmas present for me!
Last night’s episode was funny, but I felt like it was one of the weaker eps this season.
But really, what I want to know is when we’re going to meet someone from Penny’s family?
Sigh…still holding a grudge because that Ausiello guy posted a headline that totally spoiled the kiss between Leonard’s mother and Sheldon, and it was on the home page so I couldn’t exactly avoid it. I know it’s pretty sad, but I’m still annoyed. I wasn’t able to watch with the glorious wonder that Adam B. Vary expressed in the recap, because I knew it was coming and so it wasn’t remotely exciting. But the rest of the show was good, excluding those horrific fa la la la las, which pained me greatly as well.
I thought one of the funniest moments was Leonard’s description of “presents” as a child. The wrote papers on the excesses of Christmas, and the broke off into focus groups to discuss them! Hilarious!
ITA! that was very funny. seems like something Sheldon would approve of.
What I liked best was that Penny knew she couldn’t operate on the same intellectual plane as Leonard’s mom but she was smart enough to know that she could facilitate them both being on an equal level by getting her drunk. That was brilliant. Penny may never have the “book smarts” that her neighbors have but she has something they don’t… common sense. She and Leonard really compliment each other and I hope the writers can continue to make their relationship grow without falling back on the many cliches that TV shows usually use to define relationships. There is much they could learn from each other and this could be one of the very, very, very, very few shows where the characters exhibit personal growth.
How about Kathleen Turner as Sheldon’s father? She was great on “Friends” playing Chandler’s father!
This show is the best!!! I laughed so hard I cried….I hope this shows is treated Simpson like and stays around for many more years…
I absolutely loved the episode.
Christine Baranski is FANTASTIC. She is a wonderful actress. I was amazed by the fact that I could watch her as Beverly in BBT on Monday and on The Good Wife on Tuesday and not once confused her characters. There is nothing this woman can’t do. I really hope they will bring her back again soon. *keeping my fingers crossed*
Yo, that’s what’s up ttrhufluly.
